Hi all,

I'm back! I've had a leave of absence recently as I've been extremely busy.
I recently started a new job as admissions supervisor at a local hospital.
Since I've been here, most of the people I come into contact with have really taken to me as I'm so 'cute,' 'petite' and 'tiny.'
However I do get the odd nasty comment like 'You're not old enough to work here' because I look much younger than my 29 years. The worst one to date was a couple of days ago when I had a woman come in for a sleep lab. As I was checking all her information and getting her in the system she wheeled herself around to my side of the desk in her wheelchair and proceeded to reel off everything she thought was 'wrong' with me. This is literally how the 'conversation' went.

Me: 'Ok, Mrs Thomas I'm going to be getting you registered today, as there is nobody else here to do it. I'll be less than five minutes and you can be on your way.'
For those who don't know I'm British but now live in The States, I'm also 4'9 and weigh 85 pounds)

Her: 'You have a stupid accent, you're too thin, you need to put weight on, you're too pretty for your own good, you're too short, you look too young to be doing this job.'

Me: 'Have you finished? There are much worse things I could be.' At this point I looked at her pointedly as if to say 'I could look like a ugly skanky witch who doesn't looked like she's had a bath in the past five years.'

So the moral of the story is that many of the people who have something to say are just jealous and in that situation all you can really do is pity the poor losers.
In this instance this lady was bitter about being in a wheelchair and wanted to take her frustration out on me, I realised this and didn'tget angry as a result.

Whenever you get irritated and frustrated ladies, remember there are people who could give their right arm to look like you.

True, she probably named the things she hated about you because she doesn't have them. I remember a person who hated people who drank too much. Later it pointed out that she was a alcoholic.
So, like you said she was simply jealous

Hi Nia, sounds like the story of my life. I hope she was put in her place by your reply and shut her mouth. Take solace in being way hotter than her! :)Lisa
