It is possible to be tested for growth hormone deficiency. However if you are an adult that would mean that you have stopped growing and if your growth plates have closed then no amount of growth hormone in the world is going to make you taller. I am 30 yrs old and I take growth hormone injections for energy and metabolism reasons. If you would like to get tested for GH deficiency discuss it with your doctor, just don't expect the GH to make any difference to your height if your levels are low.
Also don't be fooled by any online ads promising to make you grow taller. There are only two ways to do this and those are to replace a lack of GH prior to the plates closing, or to have a very painful costly operation called leg lengthening. This is the practice of breaking a person's legs and pulling the bones apart, causing new bone to grow in the gap giving the person an extra 4 inches or so.
