Update (Open)

[Leahshi-sama]

The library was silent, completely bare from any people. It was early in the morning and not even the librarians were there, but it was still open to the students of the school. Though, a third year had not been in to turn on the lights, so it was even darker than the darkest of nights...

Except for one corner of the large room.

Chrysanthe Ariston sat at the far table, near the back of the library, typing on a laptop. Her green eyes were focused on the screen, which gave light to the corner she sat in.

"System check. Please connect." The computer spoke. Chrysanthe took a cord from the side of the laptop and opened part of her skin on her arm. Underneath, it was completely computerized. She connected the cord to a port in her arm.

"System check. One percent complete."

Her emotionless mask remained on her face, her lips curled into a light frown, her eyes holding no sort of emotion. Her other hand was tapping her fingers on the table, making a soft noise. It was too early for anyone else to be around, besides teachers. If someone came in, it would be easy to hide what she was doing. She wouldn't hide it, however, if it was a member of the P.D.A.

[Kuri]

Sayuri sighed as she walked into the Library. Surely there would be no one around, she thought, and because she was apart of the Council she figured that she should know her place around every corner of the school. It wasn't like she was losing sleep by doing this.

The second year followed the lone trail of light, and came upon a third year, and she walked over to her.

"Hey, you! What're you doing?" Her curious nature took over, and she continued walking to her, not waiting for an answer.

[Leahshi-sama]

Chrysanthe cursed on the inside, beating herself up mentally for not feeling the other girl's body heat enter the library earlier. She slammed her laptop shut, the light in the room going out. She brought her hand to the cord, disconnecting it from her arm and closing the flesh over the mechanical parts.

She swallowed hard as she stood up, seeing her way through the darkness with ease and flipping on the lights after entering the access code. She looked at the second year with a light frown. She just looked at her, not saying anything.

[Kuri]

"Eh? So you're this quiet? Wow, I didn't expect someone in this school to be like that. Everyone so far has been annoyingly talkative and would've answered me." A grin spread onto her face. "So, what was a third year doing in school this early, and in the library, of all places? It didn't seem you were looking at books...a computer nerd, maybe?" She trailed off, not sure how to make conversation with someone like Chrysanthe.

[Leahshi-sama]

"Computers keep me alive." Chrysanthe replied, her soft alto voice cold as ice. Many would take that kind of comment to call her obsessed with computers, but on the inside, it was the truth. Her body couldn't keep going unless she updated her software often. But she wouldn't reveal that information. Her update had been interupted and her body was beginning to ache a little. She'd most likely have to wait until after school to finish the update.

[Kuri]

"They keep you alive, eh?" The second year studied Chrysanthe, and a knowing grin spread across her face. "Boku namae wa Sayuri desu." She introduced herself, even though it didn't really matter. The percentage of them meeting again was very slim, but she didn't really care. Sayuri did take a small interest in the other girl, though. She had no idea why, maybe it was because she wasn't a talkative "brat" as she called them? Oh well, it didn't matter.

[Leahshi-sama]

"Ore wa Chrysanthe desu." The third year responded simply. Her eyes locked on Sayuri's form as if studying and analyzing every little detail of the second year in front of her.

[Kuri]

The grin stayed on her face, and would have caused anyone to be a little freaked out. "You're very interesting, Chrysanthe-senpai." She stated flatly, but her tone still has that playful and almost insulting tone to it. "But maybe you could...I don't know....talk a bit more?"

[Leahshi-sama]

Chrysanthe sat down on the table, letting her legs swing back and forth a little as she placed her hand on her laptop, looking at Sayuri. "What's the point of speaking? To let others look into my soul and find out every little secret of me? To let people fall in love with words alone? Heh...It's rediculous."

[Kuri]

"Heh, I used to think like that many, many years ago. But then I learned...that I should speak and let my opinion be heard. They don't have to learn anything about you. People are just that stupid that they don't figure out anything useless you flat out tell them." It was true, really. Everyone she met so far couldn't figure out anything about her unless she told them.

Sayuri walked to lean on the wall, her blue eyes never leaving her senpai.

[Leahshi-sama]

"Hm..." Chrysanthe stared right back at Sayuri, as if to say that she wouldn't back down if it was a staring contest the younger female wanted.

[Kuri]

"Hm..." She crossed her arms over her chest. "You're different. Though it certainly is annoying me that you barely talk to me. Come on, you can lie to me and everyone you meet. And it would be better if you get close to people rather than ignoring them..." Her eyes went off to look at the morning sky, a nostalgic look on her face.

[Leahshi-sama]

"What do you know? You're just a transfer student. I've been going here for three years. I suggest you watch your mouth." Chrysanthe said, her tone becoming even more icy then it had been before.

[Kuri]

She raised her eyebrow when she spoke. "You're right. I'm a transfer student. That doesn't mean I don't any have experience, though. For all you know I could very well have experienced more than you during my...." she paused, trying to make sure she kept her lie of a life up. "...seventeen years of living."

[Leahshi-sama]

Chrysanthe let a small growl escape her lips. "You know nothing more than me. One who has lived much longer than you." The 'eighteen' year old girl took her laptop and shoved it into her bag as if she were going to leave.
