Welcome!
Welcome to Sekkai Fractures!
We're a moderate to advanced original fantasy roleplay set in an original world where humans can bond to dragons with the use of magical crystals. The land is currently in celebration after the Tainted Lord has been removed from his black throne and his legions have been freed from his nefarious influence, but whether or not his soldiers will face punishment is yet to be seen.
THE CURRENT SEASON IS:
Early Spring
The Tainted Hatching has ended! The Tainted Queen has gone to great lengths to provide for her developing minions. She, along with the other devious mothers, has taken her unborn to Iyalruek where they have nested in the rubble of a forgotten era. As a stunning surprise, amidst the cacophony of the laying, an escorted hybrid has presented a Dream Egg to the tainted host. What will this mean to the Sekkians? In the Hybrid's need to restore balance, have they doomed the whole of the country? Only time will tell.

The day was warm and Lalaithion was, simply put, bored. Sirius was wrapped up in a book of herbs and making a list of what she might need to restock on, he had been ordered out of the room to blow energy. So, of course, he had flown through the jungle at break neck speeds, terrified the livestock in the fields, but picking them up and putting them somewhere else, and now he had moved on. He trotted along , wings slightly open to keep cool in this particularly hot day. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Hatching, and he wasn't really interested as he hadn't anything to really be excited about. He was happy working and having fun, without having sired any offspring for the moment. He looked about looking for someone to bother or prank, wishing for somesort of interaction, than getting snapped at by Sirius. ((its short, but its a start. ))

Taios didn't much care about the presence of dragons in the parade grounds. It was a common enough sight now, and he simply did his best to avoid them as much as possible. He had no business with the dragons. Well, he had no business with them yet. It was quite obvious that he would when he bonded to a dragon of his own, working with wings and talons and other such people. Taios snorted. For now, he needed to concentrated on improving his skills in fighting, doing whatever he had to do as some lowly candidate, and whatnot.
He'd decided that today was a good day to practice his swordplay. To this end, he wore plain commoner clothes, a simple white shirt with short sleeves, tan breeches, and dull brown boots. Taios was fortunate to find a willing opponent to practice with, though unfortunate in that said opponent was a braggart.
The spar barely lasted a minute, and at the end, Taios held the tip of his wooden sword to his opponent's neck.
"Your boasting was all for naught," he stated with a snort. "Do heavily consider your own skills before you boast of them."
He lowered his sword and swung it diagonally downward. There were perks to being a nobleman, even if he was short. His family had been able to afford the finest instructors, and the money was well spent. His sparring partner scowled and groaned.
"Come back," Taios continued, "When you are at least somewhat competent."
The boy stormed off. The nobleman cocked his head and gave a derisive snort. The Academy accepted anyone without regards to their training, it seemed. It was a miracle that Empire had won the war with the Tainted.

Lalaithion found the pair, and watched the exchange between the two. when one of them lost the other spoke with a snobbish air, Lalaithion felt like the kid needed some loosening up. It was rather rude to boast but the other kids behavior was also rather rude. Normally he wouldn't have bothered but he was bored, and the kid made a nice little target since he had simple ignored Lalaithions presence on the grounds, so he wouldn't be expecting to become a target.
He mused, what would be a good prank to pull. There wasn't much on the parade grounds, he had to admit and if he wanted to do something, he would have to outsource. Nothing living, because the kid might actually harm the living animal if he tried to stick it down his shirt. Dumping water was always a classic, but that was getting old....now mud. Mud would cool the kid off. and he could easily make some. Or have the kid trip into the mud. Oh. that would be fun to watch.
With ease he, he darted, finding some rope, bucket of water and began looking for a spot to set up. He carefully found an area that was in the path of the kid, but to where he was out of sight. he easily created a nice large mudpit and then tied the string and foot level. Soon he hunkered down to wait and pull the string to trip the kid into the pit. the string was at a hit that the kid could not possible regain his footing, and pulled taunt, it would hit his shins. This, was going to be amusing.

Taios was, of course, completely oblivious to the presence of the mischievous forest dragon. No, he was unaware of what messy fate awaited him. He just strode away, feeling slightly annoyed that he couldn't have gotten the good practice that he needed. He couldn't let his skills erode, after all, but it seemed the Academy accepted anyone who came banging on the doors. No thought whatsoever to skill. As Taios was thinking this, he wasn't paying much attention to where he stepped, or what lied in his path.
And then he hit it. He felt something thin press against his leg, and he was unable to react. He gasped, but it was cut off as he fell forward and into the soft mud. His face slammed into it. Taios's vision went dark. He lied there for a moment, trying to take in what just happened to him. He groaned and pushed himself up, hands squelching in the mud.
He distinctly remember that something tripped him. The candidate staggered up and whirled around, clothes stained brown with mud. He sniffled furiously, trying to find the thing that tripped him. Taios snorted and leaned forward, finding the string after a little bit of effort.
"Celestial tail feathers," he hissed. "What cur is so cowardly as to do this?"
He imagined it was out of some sort of grudge, but that the one who held it was too cowardly to confront him directly. Taios sniffled again and wiped his hand across his face, smearing some of the mud away. He scowled and furrowed his brow. Oh, he would find whoever did this, yes. And he would make their life worse than a Tainted ever could.

When the kid hit the ground, Lalaithion let the string go. when he hissed and sputtered, reminding Lalaithion of a cat, he could only snicker.
His snickering, turned into laughter, and he tried to stifle it, but the prank was just too funny. His whole body rumbled with it. He wasn't exactly quiet about laughing, and his boredom was completely washed away with the event of having made the kid fall face-first into the mud.
Oh, if his rider knew what he had done, she would be out of her mind pissed. No doubt the kid was, as he watched him. He however would be able to handle his own consequences, and Sirius not need know.
Rethinking on the face-plant, only made him giggle harder, and he wasn't all that quiet. It was possible the kid could hear him, and find him. Well, if he did, Lalaithion would have to deal with him when he crossed that bridge.

A lowly forest, of all creatures, had taken to laughing at him. Taios snorted and swiped some of the mud of his shirt, then shook his hands off, flinging flecks of mud back onto the ground, right where it belonged. Mud had no place but the ground and the bottoms of his boots. He sniffed several times in his frustration. The way the wet mud clung to him was enough to make him tense up and to make his skin crawl. Oh, Taios was going to make sure every single speck of it came off of him the instant he got near a bath.
He looked toward the forest and glared. His eyes narrowed. The nobleman swiped his hand across his shirt again. He was fortunate that he wasn't wearing his finer attire, but dirt was still dirt.
"You seem incredibly amused," Taios said. "I'm sure you find many unfortunate events to be amusing." The insult to the forest's taste in humor wasn't terribly subtle, but he didn't expect others to understand subtle speech and what was meant by it.

Lalaithion stared right back at him, amusement glittering in his eyes. Of course, He had found it amusing to watch the kid trip and fall. He of course had set up that way. He simply let the 'insult' roll of his shoulders, refusing to acknowledge it. It meant nothing. He had had worse.
"If you want to view it as such." He commeneted back, shrugging his wings. He didn't take his eyes off the kid. He wasn't afraid of him, and besides, the kid hadn't blamed him for it...yet. He hadn't quite put two and two together. Of course, he wasn't going to exactly tell the kid he did it. Really, that'd spoil all the fun.
"Really, You should lighten up" He quipped back, snorting softly. It was his least liked trait in someone--arrogance or snobby behaviour. He was glad he wasn't bonded to someone with that high-mindedness that somehow rubbed wrong with him. And the kid had it, if the spar session and reactions to his prank were anything to go by.
