Welcome!
Welcome to Sekkai Fractures!
We're a moderate to advanced original fantasy roleplay set in an original world where humans can bond to dragons with the use of magical crystals. The land is currently in celebration after the Tainted Lord has been removed from his black throne and his legions have been freed from his nefarious influence, but whether or not his soldiers will face punishment is yet to be seen.

THE CURRENT SEASON IS:
Early Spring

The Tainted Hatching has ended! The Tainted Queen has gone to great lengths to provide for her developing minions. She, along with the other devious mothers, has taken her unborn to Iyalruek where they have nested in the rubble of a forgotten era.
As a stunning surprise, amidst the cacophony of the laying, an escorted hybrid has presented a Dream Egg to the tainted host. What will this mean to the Sekkians? In the Hybrid's need to restore balance, have they doomed the whole of the country? Only time will tell.

Character Ranking in Sekkai

Shadowguarde
The most powerful and highest rank of those that aren't considered royalty. They are the elite of the elite, an almost hidden force of power within the government. The Shadowguarde consists of only thirteen members and in the old days the dragons were either spayed or neutered, a practice which no longer is advocated or widely practiced. The ranks in the Shadowguarde are as follows.

I. Head of the Shadowguarde. This person answers directly to the Empress and follows no others.
II. Leader of the Wing Militia. Answers directly to I.
III. Leader of the Terran Militia. Answers directly to II.
IV. Philosopher, Wiseman of Sekkai. This character is a keeper of infinite knowledge.
V. External Guardsman, Arm of Sekkai. Controls Outriders.
VI. Internal Guardsman, Protector of Sekkai. Controls Guardians.
VII. Internal Guard, Guardian.
VIII. Internal Guard, Guardian.
IX. Internal Guard, Guardian.
X. External Guard, Outrider.
XI. External Guard, Outrider.
XII. External Guard, Outrider.
XIII. External Guard, Outrider.

Dragon Rankings

Wingless Riders; These rankings consist of those who are without a Wing, operating under a specific area or objective.
Guardian; These dragonriders are a line of defense in Sekkai, never going on the offensive. Many of them are gathered around major strongholds of Sekkai, prepared to defend their land to the end. [SG 7-9]

Outrider; These dragonriders are the opposite of Guardians, flying far and wide to stop threats before they reach Sekkai. One of the strongest, yet weakest groups, their members are under constant threat and usually value their own lives before that of their country. [SG 10-13]

Scholar; These dragonriders are well versed in the art of history. They read, evaluate, and record the history of Sekkai and are an important part of her culture.

Healer; These dragonriders are solely there for the better lifestyle of Sekkai. They use their abilities to combat illness and disease, as well as heal wounds and keep a track on the population of Sekkai and the wellness of her inhabitants.
Wing Riders; These are dragonriders who fly within an organised military unit known as a Wing. They are part of the Wing Militia and operate the core and main fighting force of the Sekkaian army. Wings usually consist of twenty dragons and their riders.
Talon; Talons are the leaders of a Wing, or a group of flying dragons within the Wing Militia. They have tactical advantage and physical prowess above all else. They are expected to lead the whole Wing to battle, performing whatever deeds necessary to either win or live to see another day.

Claw; Within a Wing there consist two Claws, each of them a sub-adviser to the Talon. They work on a more personal basis with the other members of the Wing and are often times a split between a physically strong dragon and a mentally strong dragon, for balance.

Horn; Horns are the strike force of a Wing, often the largest and most powerful of the Wing. They often are composed of about three or four members, using blunt force to catch the enemy unaware and occupy them.

Scale; Scales make up the main body of the Wing. They are ordinary members, but most essential. Not the largest, nor the smallest, they use their elementary abilities above all else. The majority of dragons start in this position and move their way up. Often times about twelve to thirteen Scales are in a Wing.

Fang; Fangs are the smallest and swiftest of the Wing. They often run fly-and-strike operations, using speed to deal blows and weaken the main body of the opposing force. There are usually four to five of them in a Wing.

Spine; Spines are usually back up, often having healing abilities and operating from a distance. They are physically weak and rely on their elemental abilities above all else. Often times they are extremely intelligent and there is usually only one or two to a wing.

Dire Rankings
Pack Leader; The leader of a pack, or a team of dires of a specific species. They are chosen to this rank through either physical or mental capabilities, each having individual strenths to lead a pack in battle.

Pack Second; One per pack, the pack-second acts as an advisor and backup to the pack-leader within the pack. They take over the pack if the pack-leader is unable to, and helps to lead the pack.

Pack Member; The main body of the pack, they follow the orders of the pack-leader and the pack-second. There are usually eight to ten members in a pack.

Loner; Any dire without an assigned pack, or that is working alone.

Taint Rankings

Tainted battalions are known as Shells. They are led by a Viral rank and their actions are dictated by a small group of immensely powerful generals known as Sheathes, a select group chosen specifically by the Tainted Lord to command her army.
Sheathe; The highest of Taint rankings, Sheathe are the elite of the Desolation. It is said their powers even surpass those of the Shadowguarde. They answer directly to their Lord, Augari.

Viral; These are comparable to Wing Talon, and they lead the Tainted Shells. Virals are often chosen for their brute strength and tenacity as they are expected to be at the head of their Shell at all times, leading the charge and ensuring maximum damage. Only the most indestructible of Taints could hold this position.

Toxin; Toxins act as a wingsecond to Virals, One or two per Shell. They are more commonly promoted to this rank for supreme cunning and tactical knowledge. Toxins are not expected to hurl themselves bodily into the fray, rather the opposite. Instead Toxins should intimately know the Bloods under their control, and be able to manoeuvres them skilfully in battle.

Blood; The most common rank of Tainted, they make up the mass of Shells. Not hardly as organised as their militant foes, the Blood rank is unfortunately infamous for being a bloodthirsty rabble. Their commanding Viral is relied upon heavily to keep this rank under control and stop them from ripping each other to pieces. Often this rank exceeds 20 members.

Dagger; This rank is mostly composed of the smaller breeds who have escaped derision by training in the art of assassination. Once trained they are well-regarded for their prowess in subterfuge and poison

Shield; Unkindly nicknamed "meat shields", these dragons are what passes for healers amongst the Tainted legion. They are mostly composed of Rosemaries who still retain some of their healing ability, with a light sprinkling of dragons who are unable to fight for one reason or another. Because Tainted dragons universally agree that it's a sign of unacceptable weakness to seek healing, Shields are the most derided of all the ranks. It doesn't help their case that Influenzas typically gravitate towards this rank, revelling in the opportunity to cause medical misery.
