Once more silence rose like a lingering beast, always ready at the very edge of their conversation, stirring like a living thing whenever either of them paused. Leech felt it grow heavier and thicker as she remained quiet, watching Endolin with her many eyes. She said no further word, made no response to his last sentence she just... watched. Her intense stare no longer wavering as if she tried to hypnotize him. To lull him into believing that she would not say another word, not move until the night was done. So when she finally did move it came as a surprise. More so for the direction of her movement rather than the sudden twitch of muscles itself. Leech turned.
Twisting around in the tight space she occupied, slimey flesh bulging as she turned and twitched, pressing her head past her rump and finally beginning to slide out and away. It might have seemed impossible for someone of her mass to actually turn around and head away in a tunnel like this... but apparently her flesh was just as flexible as it looked, a mass held together by magic and friction rather than bones, squeezing into holes that just didn't seem to fit.
"Good.", was all she slurped, a single yet odd word that held strange statisfaction. As if Leech had done what she came for. As if she had gained whatever she had sought for here. It held no praise for Endolin, no friendship. It simply... was. And whatever Leech had tried to accomplish here, she had apparently done so. Or perhaps she was just sick of looking at him without eating him. Fed up with the whole situation.
Out there in the rain... was easier prey. And she'd be out hunting tonight. The rain would keep her skin soft and wet, the darkness would hide her monstrous shape until it was too late... there really was no reason to linger if she wasn't going to eat him. And she would not do that. At least not today. He would live another night, another day. And she... she would find someone else she could slide down her gullet...
((Long overdue but I wanted to wrap this up properly
