Welcome!
Welcome to Sekkai Fractures!
We're a moderate to advanced original fantasy roleplay set in an original world where humans can bond to dragons with the use of magical crystals. The land is currently in celebration after the Tainted Lord has been removed from his black throne and his legions have been freed from his nefarious influence, but whether or not his soldiers will face punishment is yet to be seen.
THE CURRENT SEASON IS:
Early Spring
The Tainted Hatching has ended! The Tainted Queen has gone to great lengths to provide for her developing minions. She, along with the other devious mothers, has taken her unborn to Iyalruek where they have nested in the rubble of a forgotten era. As a stunning surprise, amidst the cacophony of the laying, an escorted hybrid has presented a Dream Egg to the tainted host. What will this mean to the Sekkians? In the Hybrid's need to restore balance, have they doomed the whole of the country? Only time will tell.

It was like stepping out onto ice, you had to tread carefully and cautiously, making sure that you didn't plunge suddenly and quickly beneath the freezing water. Only this time, it wasn't cold you would sink under, but white hotness that would drag you down angrily, never letting you have the option of rising again. In the case of Endolin, however, he strode confidently forwards across the black surface, not caring whether he was to slip. He held his tail straight and his head high, surveying the dark floor for cracks, even whilst in motion. He kept his wings half-open, just in case there was a break and he fell. He felt, lately, that he had been travelling randomly, trying to find a place that would feel comfortable enough for him to settle down in; at least for a while. Although this area was by far from pretty, and did not seem to be particularly on the comfortable side, it was still enough for Endolin.
He wanted some time to think. His head had been hurting him lately and he felt like he was losing his grip on something important. Something that was once his... But, it was gone now, a thing to be reclaimed in his nightmares only. Maybe one day he would remember it again, but for now it was inaccessible. The rumble of lava below seemed to help calm him. He doubted, if he grew hungry, that there would be anything to eat on this part of Desolation. Maybe there was nothing to eat at all on any part of this wasteland, but maybe he hadn't searched it thoroughly enough, too content on taking to flight for new destinations. He yawned, his elongated jaws growing wider than they would have those many months ago, then he snapped them shut with an audible click! He would wander around here for a while, gather up his thoughts, then leave, as he normally would. It was both interesting and boring here, with volcano's spewing lava in the background and gleaming black surfaces underfoot.
Endolin shifted, turning slowly to the right, then trotted on. The day was young, but the air was sweltering. At least, being used to such temperatures, the Tainted Fire wouldn't have to suffer. But, maybe someone somewhere is, deciding to journey to this hazardous spot just for the heck of it, just for the thrills. The bright scaled dragon didn't know, nor did he care. If there were others here, then they would have more of a chance of burning to death in the deadly fiery pits beneath than he ever would. He snorted, his tail lashing the air a moment, before he settled down in a shadowy spot. He would rest a while, then maybe continue on, nosing around this peculiar place.

He'd bored quickly of the same scene. The slight ache that had accumulated in his shoulders had gone now, anyway. He nibbled at his arm as an itch struck, then stood up. What could he do now? Wander closer to the lava-spewing volcanos, perhaps? Or simply keep up the step and think pattern that he'd gotten so used to? Endolin tilted his head to the side as he considered the two options. Ponder, he would continue in the same way he had for the last few hours in this humid area. So, turning, he headed back the way he had come, with the same confident stride as before.
The Tainted Fire found that there had been breaks in the bleak surface, where there wasn't when earlier he had come along this path. He avoided these warily, wings half unfurled. He may have fire-proof armor, but his wings and paws were not as well protected, which was something he had forgot in his previous reflective mood. A small breeze blew in his direction, cooling his muzzle. It would soon wane; cut down by Shadowheart's stifling temperature. He huffed, smoke pouring out of his nostrils in sync with the slight noise. It was amusing to think that the warmth could overcome the cold here... More often than not, it was the other way around. Maybe this was the place for him, after all.
The quiet extended on, the muffled sound of the magma and the gentle clicks of Endolin's talons as they made impact with the floor, the only sounds to be heard. He'd almost drifted off. It was so peaceful here. A shout echoed, snapping the Fire from his drowsy state. He looked around, his cerulean eyes narrowing. So, there was another here besides himself? His grip tightened on the floor, his gaze turning cold. He felt the makings of a fire stir in his stomach. Was he to be ambushed? Cut down by someone for his bad deeds? He shook his head and quickened the pace, keeping watch for breaks in the black surface.
It was as he lifted his head high to take note of his surroundings that he noticed the movement. Movement of figures; one small, one large. Curiosity suddenly flooded Endolin's mind, and he found himself moving towards the pair, his aggression and bout of paranoia momentarily forgotten. He advanced with an expression that spoke of the intelligence he used to possess, the very air around him changing as he closed in. From the looks of things, they were a Rider and his bonded. He stopped, studying them at a small distance. He was drawn to the beautiful markings of the Lightning, making him think back to a dark hued Air he had once fought with, comparing them briefly. He'd rarely met any dragon as brightly colored as she, but he knew it had it's drawbacks. Especially here in this environment. Unless she had some means to conceal herself when in danger, she could be quite the easy target. Endolin's bright gaze rested back upon the human. The Lightning's Rider seemed injured. Only sporting one eye and - he glanced to the walking stick - walking along with that to aid him. "... Why not fly?" he asked, his voice raspy with weeks of misuse.

Endolin's expression turned thoughtful as he looked back from the Rider to his dragon companion. So taken with her hue, he hadn't noticed just how small she really was. But, even the smallest of dragons still could have the potential to take to the skies for a short while with a human on their back. He was tempted to voice his opinions aloud, but he brushed the temptation aside instead. His throat felt raw now, due to the fact he had gone so long without using it. Because of that small query, he realized just how long it'd been.
He blinked then, finding a colourful blur pass by his vision. The Lightning bared her fangs, trying to intimidate the Fire, it seemed. She had moved in-between Endolin and the man, forcing him to take a single step backwards as the sparks jumped across her skin. He grunted, amused. He knew, from experience, that there was often more to a dragon (and often it's Rider) than what the eye could see. "Although the fact that you're here, does irritate me... I'm not looking for a fight," he answered, his tail waving back and forth a couple of times before scraping to a stop on the dark floor. He felt... glad, somehow, to be in the company of others after so long. Even if they didn't trust him, nor truly wished to speak with him.
The storm of negative emotions that rushed through him constantly, were slowed, at least for a while. For now, Endolin felt calm. The young Rider and his bonded reminded him somewhat of a faded image from the past. Although he couldn't place a finger upon it, it was still there, lingering in the back of his mind.
(('tis fine Alix. :3))
