Anala was again temporarily parted from her rider. It wasn't something she loved but still knew it may be good for both of them if they wanted any kind of social life. She couldn't help but wonder if her desperation for companionship of other dragons was purely hormonal from the egg or eggs forming inside of her *EggS Please let it be more than one!* She always hoped. Or if it was just a real sudden realization that she needed to start seeking out others of her kind into her life. Not that she ever rejected them, but she didn't really seek them out much.
And since her mating flight a song had been stuck strongly in her mind and her heart. The song sung to her by water Mire.
She often recalled the song and even sang it to herself. While Anala loved to sing as was told she had a lovely singing voice, she was sure when she sang this song it paled in comparison to Mire's voice. But she also knew if they sang together...they would probably gain quite a bit of inspired attention.
So at this moment she felt like singing. And this time she hoped to gain his attentions again. For a location she decided on the lake gardens. Anala found that when surrounded by beauty she sang better and with more heart. So he may just hear her.
Arriving she looked about and didn't see anyone else luckily.
I'll bring Sarafina and Leeran here next time. They'd love being here together She thought.
She rested herself on the edge of a lake in a large grassy patch with flowers....careful not to crush many if any flowers. Though her massive size made it difficult.
Anala looked at her reflection in the water. She knew she was a beautiful dragon. But it was simple knowledge more than vanity. Still, she made sure she looked groomed.
Satisfied she focused and listened inside herself for a song to manifest in her mind. One certainly did, So she relaxed and began singing from her heart
Find the end, let us start again
Feelings lost now surge as oceans
So grey he rises to the world
And his name shattered years ago
Scattered with the northern snow
Fragments hidden well within our minds
Till the rains fall no more
Till the nights no longer find us here alone
Till the rains fall no more
Till the night no longer finds us here alone
In death's eyes sorrow lingered once
Seeing his life torn apart
The shackles fell to see her free to walk the earth
In her eyes life is present still
Through the day I watch him sleeping
I hold him close forever more
Till the rains fall no more
Till the nights no longer find us here alone
Till the rains fall no more
Till the night no longer finds us here alone
((Yeah I had to change her to him in the lyrics for obvious reasons. Fall No More is one of the best songs ever!))
One of Mire's favorite places to relax was the Lake Gardens, and Arcyanis knew better than to disturb him when he was simply lounging or swimming lazily in the serene waters. Right now, the hulking Water was halfway submerged in the cool lake, lazily blowing bubbles and floating without any kind of effort. Occasionally he'd twitch his tail just enough to push just a little through the water, brushing past a water lily or two, thinking about nothing. Today was not a day he wanted to think about flights, or females, or the company of other dragons in general. Yes, he and Arcy may have made up from the tongue-lashings they'd given each other after Anala's flight, but that didn't mean they were suddenly going to spend every minute together.
Yet, while he was alone, his mind drifted to something at the thought of Anala. He had never sung anything before, yet she had loved his voice. At the time of her flight, he had seen the indecision in her eyes as she wavered between his deep, strangely pure song and the wordless melody of his Sonic hatchmate. She had chosen Buccinal, but he could tell it had been one of the toughest decisions of her life. How had he not known he'd had the gift of a talented voice? He, of all dragons, Mire, the physical brute with none of the typical Water grace and all of the attitude of a humorless bear. No one, least of all himself, would have expected such a talent. Did his mother have a good singing voice? Probably. She was a graceful creature, fine of feature and form, so it would have made sense. Had she sung to Hephaestas when she had flown with him? Had he sung to her? It would be interesting to ask... maybe he could learn more about the art of song if they knew anything about it.
But why was he being so damn sentimental? Something like singing wasn't something the normally restrained Water would even think about. So why did he continue to hum under his breath whenever Arcy wasn't around? Why was he now thrumming a bassy stretch of notes from deep within his throat, sending tiny ripples around him as the sound pulsed through the water? He'd even tried to refine lyrics, even come up with a song that channeled his element. He didn't even know if he planned to use it ever. Perhaps to another female, but something would seem wrong about that. The one who'd brought out his gift should be the only one to hear the refinement of it. Much as it hurt, he still wanted to see Anala again. He barely knew her outside of her flight, but she had taken his breath and given him a gift of words in return.
And just as his eyelids were drooping shut, just as he was drifting into sleep, a melodious voice reached his ears, and his heart nearly skipped a beat in surprise. That voice could only belong to one... Anala. She had come to find him, hadn't she? It flattered Mire to think that someone wanted to see him twice, and he raised his head from the water and glanced around until he finally laid his watery yellow eyes on her. As beautiful as ever, and the song she sang pulled at his mind until with a swift thrash of his tail, he propelled himself to the shore where she sat before pulling himself, dripping wet, out onto the land next to her.
"Beautiful as ever, Anala..." he commented when she had finished her song. For once, he was thankful that he couldn't blush. "I... I've been trying to work on my voice," he muttered, overcome suddenly with embarrassment. Could he really muster up the courage to sing his creation for her? By the Rider, how could he not? Bravery didn't come only in the form of battle glory, and finally he raised his head and met her eyes, and would have smiled if his steel jaws could have allowed it. And then he cleared his throat and began, just for her.
Rise with me now
And we'll walk to the shore
We'll look over the waves
To the break of day
I'll hold your hand
I'll hold you close
I'll wipe away your tears
And no one will know
On the morning tide
We'll hoist the sails to break the crashing waves
Won't you come with me and hear the ocean sigh?
And if to its depths it called us by our name
Won't you sail to the shore with me?
Come to me now
And together we'll go
Where the clear winds blow
Far and beyond
Leaving behind
All our sorrow and pride
Kissin' them goodbye
Into another life
On the morning tide
We'll hoist the sails to break the crashing waves
Won't you come with me and hear the ocean sigh?
And if to its depths it called us by our name
Won't you sail to the shore with me?
Won't you come with me?
Sail to the shore with me
Won't you come with me?
Come with me?
Come with me?
Sail
Love is still here
Never will it leave
You're always with me
And I'm always with you
On the morning tide
We'll hoist the sails to break the crashing waves
Won't you come with me and hear the ocean sigh?
And if to its depths it called us by our name
Won't you sail to the shore with me?
((The song is "Morning Tide" by Poets of the Fall! 8D))
((Listened to that song right when you told me to. AWESOME EPIC OMG! lol)
As she finished her song Anala couldn't help but notice the water before her bubbling a bit.
Could it be? No it can't work out THAT well!
But she knew to finish her song. Almost immediately after she did the water stirred more and there before her rose the steel like head of the very dragon she was seeking.
"Mire!" She cried happily with her wings opening and her tail waving in happiness. She was thrilled she had been so lucky she sang at the very spot he happened to be lurking. If she could blush she may have at his compliment of being lovely as ever...and she wasn't sure if he meant her voice or her...Either way she was very flattered. She watched and positioned herself as he came to sit next to her. It was nice to be next to him whether it be in the air or on the ground. He had a both comforting and alluring presence.
Then he began to sing again.
The thrill and woo she felt the first time he sang to her returned in a wave. Her eyes both brightened and glossed over as she swooned. She couldn't help it. Anala had always been a flirt but normally she wasn't easily won over...hence her very difficult choice at her flight. Though she still didn't regret her choice. The stirrings in her belly of developing eggs were a reminder. Still she was just thrilled she could meet with Mire afterwords and still have a good relationship.
Anala was aware the look on her face may be a little too tipsy as she listened to his song but she didn't care. Plus they were alone at the time. Even if they weren't she wouldn't mind.
He finished and she had to blink and shake her head a bit to bring herself back to reality. She finally remembered exactly what was occurring and where she was. She looked into his yellow eyes.
"Again my dear- You have a REAL gift! I doubt any dragon in the land can match your skill. And I mean that"
She stretched her neck to give him a welcoming nuzzle.
"It is wonderful to see you again Mire." She smiled "And wonderful to hear you're beautiful voice again as well"
She hoped he didn't think she only liked him for his singing. though it was his singing that allowed her to see deeper into him and she knew what she saw was good.
"I do hope things have gone well for you since we last met"
