Rare Dragon Breeds
MetalBreeding Size Value: 4
Size; Their types, copper, iron, and steel, ascend in size.
Males: 90 feet long, 20 at shoulder.
Females: 80 feet long, 15 at shoulder.
Eggs: About 8 inches high and 3 inches wide, being tall and thin as well as metallic.
Coloring The sub-classifications of metal dragons have corresponding colors. Copper dragons often have said metal scales, while iron dragons tend to be a darker silver-gray than steel dragons. Steel dragons themselves have more of a sheen than iron dragons and a lighter silver coloring. Metal dragons have mostly uniform hides.
Appearance; Metal dragons are slender, though vary slightly, again, depending on sub-classification. Coppers are shorter and slightly thicker of limb, while Steels are slender and long. Iron dragons are the perfect combination of both, having just enough enough muscle and slightest of build to be considered normal. Metal dragons have strange, looping horns, which are a great deal longer in the males of this breed. Their spines are hooked, as well as their claws. Their toes are unnaturally long and they are, by far, the most dexterous of dragon breeds. Their tail ends in long, slender blade, which is quite capable of cutting through flesh and bone.
Element Abilities; Metal dragons have the ability to breath the specific metal of their sub-classification in liquid form. It is not, as one would suspect, liquid hot, but instead solidifies instantly on contact with a surface. They also have powers of manipulation over a variety of metals, not just their own, which makes them talented metal workers.
Unique; Metal dragons are born through a combination of two rare dragon,
breeds, lava and ice. For some reason, matings of this sort usually result in metal
eggs, copper being most common and steel rarest. On some occasions, a lava or ice egg will result.
LavaBreeding Size Value: 6
Size; Lava dragons are a larger breed of dragon.
Males & Females: 140 feet long, 35 at shoulder.
Eggs: Amazingly small, usually in the shape relative to that of a chicken egg with a height of about 5 inches.
Coloring; Lava dragons possess a unique coloring. Their scales are mainly black or a dark gray tipped with a brighter orange or red, adding to the appearance of their hide being made up of magma. Their wings are the same color as their scale tips with splotches of darker color near the tips of the membrane.
Appearance; Lava dragons are extremely muscular, with shorter limbs and a heavier build. Nonetheless, they can still fly, unlike their earthen cousins. Their wings are massive to hold their weight and they often use the thermals to assist their flight. They possess long, curling horns which are often thick, as well as a dual row of spines that appear at relatively random intervals on either side of their spine. Their tails end in a wickedly curling spike, which is an extremely handy weapon in battles.
Element Abilities; Lava dragons possess the ability to manipulate flame and stone on a much greater level, this being lava. They can breath a jet of pure lava, which not only burns but solidifies. This means nature manipulation is limited in lava dragons, though they can create some lava of their own by breathing on rock if need be.
Unique; - Lava dragons are bred through a rare cross of earth and fire
dragons. A breeding of such will only rarely produce a lava egg, often producing only fire and earth eggs.
IceBreeding Size Value: 4
Size; Ice dragons are a decently medium sized dragon.
Males & Females: 80 feet long, 15 at shoulder.
Eggs: Smooth and greatly resemble those of a water dragon, often
leading to confusion.
Coloring Ice dragons often have white scales, which have a slightly opalescent sheen. They have very few color variations, the rarest being a slightly off white shade. Pure white or an almost colorless effect is most often seen in this pale breed of dragons.
Appearance; Ice dragons resemble a combination of water and air dragons,
standing easily taller than a water dragon yet shorter than an air dragon. They also tend to have longer, whip-like tails in comparison to their bodies, unlike the air dragons. Theirs horns, which are jagged and seem to appear at random along their spine and head, are perfectly clear. This is the same with their teeth and claws, which are long and curved, perfect for gripping onto slippery ice. They strangely possess a trio of curved claws at the end of their tail, which rest on a 'pseudo-hand.'
Element Abilities; Ice dragons possess the breath power of breathing near-freezing water, which solidifies depending on how they breath it. This means they can use it as weaponry or to freeze the extremities of an opponent.
Unique; Ice dragons are bred through a combination of air and water dragons, though the chances of an ice egg are even less than that of a lava egg.
CelestialBreeding Size Value: 6
Size; Celestials, besides being the rarest, are also the longest of dragons.
Males & Females: 175 feet long, 35 at shoulder.
Eggs: Large and spherical, measuring at around 6 feet horizontally.
Coloring; Celestial dragons are often praised for their beauty, and rightly so. Their scales are mainly golden, which can range from deep tones to pale, almost white-gold in color. Their hides are also speckled with multicolored scales, either in pastel tones or vivid ones. These rainbow scales are sometimes placed at seeming random or clustered together in patches. Their wings are unique in the fact that they are mainly bat-like, with the exception of near the branching point for the 'fingers', where a myriad of colored feathers rest.
Appearance; Celestial dragons are long and slender, each possessing an arching neck. They have thin jaws, as well as a pair of short ears. Their horns come in a dual pair instead of a single pair, each long and resembling those of a gemsbok. The extremely rare male celestials also have a large, feathered crest, which is used mainly for attracting females. A quartet of similar horns decorate the end of their tail, gathering in a radial pattern around the tip of their tail. Smaller spines with metallic frilling running between them, run along their spine, reaching a high point between the hind quarters.
Element Abilities; Celestials have an extremely rare ability, which appears to revolve around the sun. They are, in a manner, solar powered beats, spending the majority of their time laying in the sun and soaking up it's rays. Their breath power is a single, searing blast of light, whose intensity can be altered to either blind or burn. They also seem to have an inner radiance, almost glowing in the dark.
Unique; - Celestials are born only out of another celestial, and oftentimes this breeding will not go correct. They are rare and occasionally pop up in a normal line of dragons, which adds confusion to the breed as a whole. They are by far the rarest of dragons.
CrystalBreeding Size Value: 4
Size: Crystal dragons are of medium size, females and males averaging around the same size.
Males & Females: 80 feet long, 15 at shoulder.
Eggs: Near three feet, smooth and shimmer like pearl.
Coloring: These dragons are opalescent in hue, their scales shimmering with rainbow hues of every color imaginable, but when viewed from a distance, seem to be overall white. Their claws and horns are a bright silver color with more of a matte finish.
Appearance: Crystal dragons are somewhere between strong and nimble,
their legs slightly longer than other elementals. The scales of a crystal dragon are elongated and look very much like feathers with razor sharp edges. They are very flat and overlap heavily creating a very spectacular array of reflections when light hits them in even the smallest amounts. Their wings are long and slender, with 2 curved claws on each "hand" joint and semi-translucent wing membranes that connect partway down the tail. The tail itself is long and whip-like with only the faintest hint of a spiked tip. Crystal dragons have long spikes which start between the eyes and travel down the neck, halting just before the base of the neck then pick up again midway down the back, fanning out down to the tip of the tail. The spikes have sail-like membranes that spread between them helping to stabilize during flight.
The head of the crystal dragon is short and sharply angled with the chin jutting out
slightly adding to the pointed look of this dragon's face. The eyes are usually a
bright turquoise color, but can range anywhere from deep lavender to bright green.
The horns are twisted and pitted at intervals, revealing specially formed scales which are usually of a brighter color and match the eyes of the dragon. These also glow at times, depending on the actions or the mood of the dragon in question.
Element Abilities: Crystal dragons have the unique ability to not only change the shape of the earth around them to a great extent, but can also align particles at a molecular level, in turn have the ability to alter the friction of the material in question, mostly rock and sand. They have the innate ability to fuse certain types of stone into crystal and can even alter the structure of their own scales to make them as soft or hard as they want, though when said skill is not in use, their scales are as strong as any normal dragon's would be.
Unique: Crystal dragons are born from the pairing of a water dragon
and a earth dragon, are quite rare, and female eggs of this element rarely
mature to hatching. Those that do, however, mature to be noticeably stronger than their male cohorts.
GlassBreeding Size Value: Depends Upon Specimen
Size Glass dragons tend to vary in size a lot, some can get almost to be as huge as earth dragons, at the price of their flight capacity, and others can be almost as small as a rosemary dragon. That means they range from about 20 feet up to nearly 100 feet.
Eggs: Vary in shape almost as much as the dragons do. They can be small or huge, more spherical or more uneven. Some may even have sharp edges here and there. Their size will always give a hint about the size of the grown up dragon. From small eggs come small glass dragons, from large eggs come large glass dragons. The rest is unknown. The eggs mostly have dark colors, often darker tones of the color the dragon will have, but not always. They are almost transparent and those who take a closer look will notice that there are shadows moving underneath the almost transparent egg-shell, the more the older the egg gets. Most people say that it is the hatchling moving and shifting in his egg, but the more romantic way is that those are the dreams of creation each and every little glass dragon has before he or she will hatch. Once more, the truth is unknown, fact is that the hatchling is dead once the shadows stop moving. To keep them moving and well, the hatchling needs to be kept at high temperatures, hot enough to melt glass is required, not as hot as a lava egg requires but more hot than a normal fire.
Coloring Not only varying in size but also in color, the glass dragons can hold any color of the rainbow, but mostly have only a single color and its shades. A green glass dragon for example would hold only shades of green and hints of yellow or blue but never red, orange or violet. Brown and other dark tones are rare, even if there could be a few black glass dragons. Even rarer is an uncolored glass
dragon. When in sunlight, an uncolored glass dragon would show all colors of the
rainbow like a prism would. But there is only one recorded yet and he died only hours after he hatched. What makes them unique is not the variety in color but the fact that their skin may appear as almost transparent against the sun, like real glass would.
Appearance As they vary in color and size, the Glass dragons may vary in their shape. They can be small and slim or giant and bulky, with smaller or bigger wings, longer or shorter bodies. There is no limit for variety, but they do not have more than four wings and three leg-pairs, two tails and one head, also they mostly
don't have any feathers but tend to have a lot of thorns or sharp edges at every possible place.
Element Abilities: Glass dragons can breathe a shiny glue, which is quite hot, even if it's not as hot as lava or fire, but can cause a fire when coming in contact with easy-burning material. This glue is nothing else as pure glass in the color of the dragon using his breath, so hot that it is melting, not as fluid as water, more viscous. Older and more powerful dragons may possess the ability to breath their glass in a way that it hardens around the edges, creating sharp and strong shards. Their second ability is a lot more complicated than those of other breeds but can be summed up in one word: Creation. Glass dragons can cause everything around them to be a little bit more creative than it was before. That means that a forest grows faster and wilder, or an artist will get inspired by a glass dragon passing by, but the effects can be so little that no one will notice. The power is quite chaotic and maybe not so useful in combat, but maybe it can inspire a leader to make up a new, great plan in the middle of the fight. But not even the most powerful glass dragons can predict what their power will create. Creation is nothing that can be totally controlled. It comes and goes as it likes
and sometimes will even inspire the wrong people.
Unique: When a Fire and and Earth dragon breed there may be a glass egg among the offspring, sometimes even more than one. The scales of a glass dragon are known as one of the hardest materials in Sekkai and are used to craft jewelry and decorations when molten in a fire dragon's breath. Because of their rarity they are one of the most expensive goods in all Sekkai. Glass dragon eggs aren't rare, only the Glass dragons itself are. It is known that the very first one appeared around 2900 b.r. when Sekkai was united as it is known yet. Some people think that they appeared in the greatest hours of Sekkai-technology and will fade when technology does. The truth is unknown yet. Fact is that Glass
dragons are attracted by human creations of all types. The one and only fully transparent and completely uncolored glass dragon hatched in 3171 b.r. when the island at the west coast was discovered. He was the offspring of a lava and a fire dragon and would have grown amazingly strong if he had survived the first few hours. He didn't. Everyone around could see his almost transparent heart stop, still shimmering in all colors of the rainbow even after his death.
ChaosBreeding Size Value: 3
Size: Chaos dragons are a medium-sized dragon with females and males being around the same sizes.
Males & Females: 70 feet long, 20 at shoulder.
Eggs: Chaos eggs are black and spherical. In a dark place, the egg will light the near surroundings, in a light place it darkens the surroundings.
Coloring: Chaos dragons are usually completely black, though some show faint signs of overlaying color on their scales. All chaos dragon's posses markings similar to those of tribal tattoos that glow normally, but increase in brightness when the dragon is using an ability. The color of these markings depend upon the parentage of the dragon in question. If fire dragons had been the parents, the tribal markings will be similarly colored, in this case: red.
Appearance: Chaos dragons tend to look a bit intimidating. They have multiple pairs of horns that can come in all variations of form, from long and unbowed, to spiraled to ram horns. These can also be split. Chaos dragons often
have spines, spikes, sails, and thorns at various places on their bodies but mostly on their heads, jaws, and back. Some of them also have thorns along
the backside of their arms as well as elbows and ankles. Their wings are medium sized. The tail tip also depends on parentage.
Element Abilities: These dragons possess the ability to manipulate probably and physics, for the most part. If a Chaos Dragon uses it's abilities, nothing is like it should. Above can be below, fire cold like ice, arrows or other weapons that would hit miss, while that which would miss hit. The dragon just has to figure out what happens or what kind of attack it is at the right time. They only need to concentrate on that what should switch and in which way it should switch. In some cases there's more than one possibility. If they don't think on how it should switch, it will switch randomly. The more creative the dragon is the better it will be able to use it's abilities. Mighty Chaos dragons can concentrate on a lot of things at the same time. Their breath is some kind of anti-matter. It looks like a black beam and usually has devastating affects on whatever it touches, though it is usually random or takes great concentration to control.
Unique: Chaos dragons are very rare, but can appear in almost any dragon's clutch. It's unknown how this happens. For some odd reason, two chaos dragons breeding have never produced a chaos egg. Also, there is a possibility of the chaos' offspring producing dragons of every other element.
