Mina slowly sank to her knees at the riverbank, watching the water flow by. She had surprisingly found herself a confidant for Cedric, a friend. She was a shoulder to cry on, for him. After she had talked reason into him, after she had gotten him to see through her eyes, through the eyes of someone who didn't know how he was feeling or what went on in his head, he had broken down. He looked so miserable, sobbing at her feet. He told her how terrible he felt, how guilty he was, and how he wished he hadn't ever touched her. She had comforted him and let him know that it was alright, that she didn't blame him, and as her suicidal feelings had faded, she listened. He had completely opened up to her, told her all about how his mind worked most of the time, how he felt an inexplicable need to be a manipulative bastard. He had even told her about the previous girl, and how he had killed her. He told her about how he was a different kind of predator, and how that made him feel alone.
She sighed, letting her memories of her bizarre experience float away with the water. She didn't know why she felt so down right now, she had just helped a man through his own trauma. She didn't understand. She was even over the whole Travis experience now, after all, it had been a year since she had killed him. So why was she still so sad? She hadn't cut in a while, either. But her clothes... She needed new clothes. These were the ones Tobias had given her, over a year ago. Sure, they were clean and soft now (Cedric had let her use his clothes as she washed hers in his washer and dryer), but still... Speaking of Tobias, she hadn't seen him in a while. She hadn't seen Elizabeth in a while, either. She hadn't seen anyone in a while.
Sighing again, Mina laid down in the grass, watching the clouds through the treetops, listening to the flow of water. She had taken off her sweater and was using it as a pillow, her scarred arms and chest exposed. Her arms were covered in scars, from her shoulders to her fingertips. There were cuts along her collarbone as well, and they continued marring her features under her tank top, but those were still hidden under the black cloth. She closed her eyes and breathed in the fresh air, reveling in it. For once, she felt peaceful.
