I'm sorry you haven't been moved to the correct member group yet, I'll fix that right now.

Yes, I agree that SDS is more like a roleplay but with coding instead of writing than being a resource site. It just so happens that what we post up can also be used as resources.

I know you guys are clearly working hard at planning for what to do, but you did say suggestions, so... here I go.

First off, we need a new skin. I know, you're saying so too, so I'm not nagging about that. I'm just stating that that really should be the first thing. Not only to be new, but also so the staff in the sidebar will be up to date. I second the idea about the 'Sorting Hats'. That would seriously help you guys out a lot, I know. Even if they didn't have access to the admin panel but could like sort people, post the result in your staff room [the invisible one that's probably there xD] and then you guys could quickly change the group. Since you said that it's time consuming, and I agree that it would be hard, at least at first.

Or what you could do would be to change how the groups are. I totally get how they were started, though. I mean, based on different aspects of coding and if you mastered them all, you would be amazing at coding. Innovative, trendy... perfectionist? Sorry, don't remember all three. xD But yes, I totally get that. But if that's the whole point of the groups, may be you could change the questionnaire to being a little more simple so you could see that clearer.

Also, I know that SDS used to do member clear outs, right? May be you could clear out everyone who hasn't logged in in a year? Or everyone who has zero posts and hasn't logged in for six months? It would feel more active that way, knowing exactly how many members SDS has who are active. I mean, since this has always been more like a roleplaying site than a resource site anyway. I'm sorry if that's an inaccurate comparison, but it just feels like that to me. 'Rolecoding', perhaps? lol

P.S. I know you're all busy, but I asked this probably a year ago okay, March, and it never got done. But if you have like 5 seconds, could someone change my group to being drunk with divs. Idk may be it's just me but I've been unmotivated to really get back here because of that. Idk I felt like the admin who sorta rejected to do that was kinda rude, but may be that's just 'cause I'm always super friendly and apologetic if I do something like that. But yeah, this site is great and I do want to be here and help bring it back in whatever way I can, so that tiny thing would be super greatly appreciated.

And since you said even old, recycled skins are okay, I might do that with one of mine, but like totally revamp it so it doesn't really look the same, lol. >.<

The reason we don't let people just use the resources is because this isn't a resource site. This is a site to learn how to code. When you come, it's expected that you will put in the effort and maintain a gallery. As for a shadow team... We tried that. It didn't work. I was their team leader, and literally none of them posted. It was very depressing.

just another quick update - we're doing a lot of behind the scenes work right now which might take some time to pull together, we ARE working on the site though and we're taking in all your suggestions and considering a lot of things to add or take away from the site to make it better. so hold on with us for a little while longer guys,
if you want to contact me with a suggestion or a site concern feel free to add me on msn,

  · Not just for this skin challenger, but perhaps with all skin challenges, rather than it just being one entry from each team or whatever, everyone can submit a skin? I think it would be more fun and less limiting, and not to mention there could even be so many skins that can -- sorry to say this -- be recycled.

· Maybe it would be a good idea to just let the people who register ... post around the site. Save the sorting for the people who actually want to post a gallery? I don't know. I understand that SDS wants to be different, but there are so many resources here, and it's such a hassle to get a gallery up, maintain it and the like just to use our fab resources. I do, however, think that a level of activity should be maintained to be a member here, but perhaps -- for revivals sake -- we nix the sorting bit and just have a ... idk ... 'Shadow' team. They come to learn, they come to peruse the resources, they come to ... whatever. Something along those lines? Obviously, they'd be restricted to only certain parts of the board. Templates, probably. Skins, maybe? I'm not sure.

· I know I know I know. Staff staff staff blah blah blah. Perhaps a staff search of just people to be around to sort? A team of just 3 - 6 people, no specific team who just sort. The sorting hats. Just so that if we decide if we're going to continue with sorting upon registration, there is always someone there to get to it within the day? Or just even a staff search -- not to replace, but to be a temporary help for right now? I know I'm naggy about this, but someone who can be on everyday would even help. Active staff = active members = active site. /nagnagnag

Those were all the current ideas I had.
