While perusing over the forums, I came to the conclusion (with the help of a couple intelligent posters) that if this change (aka, draenei to the alliance, blood elves the the horde) and the subsequent change in Draenei lore had been done in say, Warcraft IV, everyone would be hailing Blizzard for it. People see it as a problem simply because it's being done in an MMORPG, so people figure it's just a lameass excuse.
Examples: Forsaken breaking free of the Scourge - If this change hadn't been in WC3, everyone would be up in arms about there being "free undead"
Uhm, yea, night elves - Pretty much....everything. A whole race that had watched over the entire world and was never noticed b4? Yeah, if not for WC3, the elves would be getting a LOT of shit. All of a sudden the high elves have these cousins that they never ever mentioned?
Let's say we went right from WC2 to WoW. The night elf lore and forsaken lore was added. Everyone would STILL be bitching about the fact that these races had been added, even though the lore would have been exactly the same.
The only thing that took a hit at the Lore was the retcon on the Draenei/Eredar lore, which messes with how Sargeras was originally corrupted.
Yeah. Uh, discuss? I was just ranting.

I hate myself for ever doubting the reason why Lithium was given that title. He also missed the point of Anubis' creation of this thread.

I read it. I still thinl Blizzard is selling out. I doubt Blizzard just came up with Draenei shamans and BloodElf paladins, they've been planning it since Blizzcon 05. Why? To make the Alliance and Horde stop whining about imbalance with shamans and paladins so that they keep playing (although they would have regardless, the IM GOING TO QUIT threat is an empty threat, many of these people are addicted to WoW).
Then again, i'm the only idiot here, so what do I know? I know that in truth, everyone here is an idiot.
We all have our faults, mine is i'm not the brightest person around when it comes to reading other people's posts. I'm not going to point out anyone else's faults though, because I only know your internet side, just as you all only know my internet side.
Our internet sides still reflect our personality though.

I agree it's a pretty sell-out type move that they're allowing Draenei to be Shaman and Blood Elves to be Paladins. (Keep in mind that Draenei will most likely be able to play Paladins too, because of their connection with the naaru). So meh, I can see why a lot of people from the ally side will be switching over to horde, and vice versa. As for me, Blood Knights ftw!!

OK, everyone got a bit off topic here, so I'm going to bring you all back in.
A) Cloud, there is no such word as "shamen". The plural of shaman is shamans, the word isn't derived from the base "man", thus, not "men".
B) There are still plenty of faction differences, so why the hell does everyone think they're both the same now? Quests, dungeons, races, mounts, factions. Just because the two classes are now shared everything is the same? Jesus, get a larger outlook.
C) The point is of this was to say that if Blizzard had made these changes in WC4, everyone would be kissing their ass for it. You all think it's shit only because it's in an MMO. What if night elves had been introduced in an MMO instead of WC3? Compared to the night elves and forsaken, the problems with draenei/blood elves are minimal, at best.
D) Lithium, stfu. I don't care about your faults or anyone elses, make your own damn thread for that.
E) EDIT - Alliance people would go over to the Horde because they wanted to be paladins, but not have to deal with the "Alliance n00bs", they rather be elitist bastards like the entire Horde.
