Hi everyone!

I've been lurking for a few days, and have been pleased to discover a fascinating little place you all have here.

I will admit to having very little experience with roleplaying, especially text-based roleplay. I have DMed a little bit, but that was one of those intro packs that basically gave you everything you needed for a couple of hours or so. As such, I will be asking questions in the various appropriate locations. However, I have a lot of experience at world-building and writing both fantasy and science-fiction, so if anyone approaches me with an idea, I can and will help flesh it out.

I chose the name Obelisk 'cause I think its pretty awesome. Ties in with both the sun and the earth, depending upon where you're looking at the time.

At any rate, glad to be here, and I hope to post somewhat regularly!

Hello. Welcome to RPSH.

Ah, so I've been wondering why we've had one more guest than usual for the past couple of days. It's you, huh? Nice to know that someone found this place interesting. Out of curiosity, how did you find out about this place?

Hey there, Diana!

And thanks for the welcome, Ignited.

In answer to your question... *points at Diana*

*Shrugs*

She'd been tryin' to get me to join for a little while... but I thought I'd wait for a bit, and take a gander.

Everything seems cool here, so its a go! inf.gif

Ah, so then I need not add in the normal "Diana is crazy, do not feed past any time lest you lose you're fingers to the beast." ...All those poor sod's that didn't heed the warning laughed when I gave that warning.

Anyways, welcome to the Hall! This place is seeing a slight resurgence of late in activity, though I think people haven't quite found an RP to collectively 'huddle up' in. Best advise I can give to a newcomer to the tRP realms is simple: Start small, work with a basic RP char and see where it goes in a particular realm, until an idea comes to mind of a more 'grand' character, or even a world of your own. Who knows, that's how I got Ages of Sylan started with Tanis. Started off basic, worked its way up.

Welcome to the forums! Don't worry about being newish to things, we're all very relaxed and easy-going here. Ask as much as you want, either in a topic or Personal Message (PM). We'll be happy to answer.

See if any of the current RP's cater to your liking, or if you want you can start your own thread in Freeform. Things are quiet again for the moment, but usually once somebody starts posting somewhere that sets off the chain-reaction of everyone else getting back into the groove.

There are a great number of words, phrases, and sentences in which I might use regarding the term "crazy." I'm the sanest of them all... however, my signature says the rest.

*Huggles* Obelisk!!! Hehe. If you ever feel lost amidst the dark corners of Brimstone Brewery, you'll find Much Ado About Nothing in the words of Terry Pratchett (thank Small Gods for Shakespeare :P).

Head toward the experiment, you might wonder, "i-Robot? u-Robot? we-Robot of Ryle?"

Which then goes into "This is not a game of 'Who The Fuck Are You?'."
It could be worse... HE could be wearing the helmet.

But I can smell a good thing comin' (as I sniff 'em out), and YOU, sir, smell the sweetest of them all.

Oh dear, but whatever you do, DON'T get the mailmen involved! ^_~_^

*Huggles* Anywho, my usual haunt is DianaDreamer's Cosmic Mind. I "brew'd" over thoughts 'til I remember Those Who Remain, and I Always Carry On.

*Curtsies* So until our next dance, I shall remain In the Shadow of Time.

No, you don't need to give me that warning...

Ah, so its all YOUR fault? Way to take responsibility! Have fun with that!

Thanks for the welcome, Idyll.

Ah yes, the Nose knows. Careful! And watch out for the mailmen... who aren't in that shot... fortunately...

Ah me, what a pity
I'd hoped to continue
for an itty bitty
bit longer.

Dangerous in what sense? To my sanity? >.<

My definition of insanity is essentially this: One can be considered 'insane' if they disagree with the society in which they live in at least one essential respect. I consider myself to be insane - I disagree with the educational system, in that there just has to a better way to do it. I disagree with the political setup - a republican form of government, by default, will be split into factions. Hell, any political body will split into factions of various kinds - even in a dictatorship, there will be factions. These factions may not be at the pinnacle of power, but, they may hold a great deal of power to the extent that they could control the flow of information, a crucial resource.

Wait - I just got serious. This is a Hi Everybody! thread. As such - I should say Hi to you, too.

So Hi. Thanks for the, uh, welcome? I guess? inf.gif
