Welcome to Rising Writers. You have stumbled upon a site for those who love to write, read, and have a common obsession; the one and only Harry Potter.

Before we get the ball rolling, we ask you please to adhere to these few rules. These rules are merely put in place to ensure everyone has a fun time here at Rising Writers and if you have any problems with the rules or are unclear with them, please feel free to PM an admin or mod to help you sort the issue out.

But first let me introduce the admins

Peeves
Goes by the name Peeves, Hugh, or You (But don’t tell him I told you that.) He is the founder of the site and without him, Rising Writers would be absolutely nothing. Hugh likes musical theatre, Harry Potter and reading and writing. Hugh’s favourite ships are Harry/Ginny, Neville/Ginny and Ron/Hermione. Though do be wary, his preference in shipping changes daily.

Any Last Requests
Goes by the name ALR or Rach. She enjoys Harry Potter, music, reading, writing and drawing. Her favourite ships are Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione. I suggest you come to her with your problems because between you and me, Hugh isn’t very nice. No really, I am just kidding. Hugh is…a lovely boy.

Zahri
Goes by the name Zahri or Beth. She loves Harry Potter, reading and writing. Some of her favourite authors include JRR Tolkein, Terry Pratchett and Tamora Pierce. As stated on TIP, Beth is an encyclopedia of canon. In other words, if you need help with something from a Harry Potter book, ask Beth. She knows it all.

And then there’s me, Bekki. I'm completely computer illiterate, and am the ultimate Typo Queen. I love Harry Potter, JAG, reading, writing and the performing arts. My favourite ship of all time is Lily/Sirius, but I also love Ron/Hermione. I help out with a bit of everything really, modding, bouncing ideas, and being an annoyance.

So now you know who we are, I shall return to the rules.

1. Please do not use net speak. Net speak is language such as “How iz ya u sk8erboi?” Some members of this site may not speak English as their first language and it would be a shame if they couldn’t understand you. Then again, if the only thing you are going to say is “How iz ya u sk8erboi?” perhaps it would be best that they didn’t understand you. The point of Rising Writers is to share beliefs and knowledge, and we would prefer to do this in an intelligent manner. (Except in topics about Johnny Depp, Michael Vartan, Keira Knightley or our other obsessions. We allow much drooling in those sorts of topics )

2. Please do not double post. If you have made a mistake in your post, please go back and edit it by clicking the edit button on the top-right hand side of said post. If you want to reply to a topic that you have had the last say in, please add your thoughts to the bottom of your last post, again by clicking the edit button.

3. Please watch your spelling and grammar. I am most probably the worst offender for this crime, but if you look at my posts, most of them will have “Edit: I cannot spell” or something of that nature at the bottom. This means, I have made an error, and gone back to change it. If you notice your post has spelling or grammar errors, please correct them. It is respectful to those who may have trouble with the English language.

4. Please do not flame or bash a topic. Post your opinions by all means, but should these opinions be hurtful to another member or include an attack on any person, ship, topic or opinion, please keep it to yourself. If you have a less than positive comment, please post it tastefully.

5. Please keep your posts on topic. If the conversation is about musicals for instance, please do not write a reply about cars. If you wish to talk about cars, start your own topic.

6. Before starting your own topic, please make sure that the topic you are interested in posting is not already on the board. You can do this by typing a keyword into the search engine at the bottom of the forum.

7.Please keep all content to PG-13. We do not want to be responsible for corrupting young minds. Please, if you are unsure whether your information is appropriate, please, PM one of the admins.

8. And last, but by no means least, HAVE FUN!
