Title: Visual Novels?

I am going to start my first visual novel soon, Tsukihime, and was interested in those the site members like.

I've watched Ares read Umineko no Naku Koro ni and he's told me about it. He also told me the Fate/stay Night plot(s). I decided to read the Tsukihime visual novel because it seemed to be the easiest representation of the story to get and Ares had never finished it. ^_^ I would have gotten the anime but I couldn't find a good torrent.
Also lolno fans and the 'anime doesn't exist' stuff here. >_> While they might not be perfect adaptations, how many people read The Lord of the Rings now because of the movies? Just saiyan.
Anyway, I figured there should be a thread about visual novels since Tai's dissolved about Umineko. >_>

Tsukihime is an awesome VN. Just a warning to you though, it does get gorey and dark. Very dark. If you don't like that you might not want to get into it.

Well Ares said if I handled Higurashi
little girls getting beaten to death with a bat, people clawing their throats out, little girl being tortured, madness, a whole season of hopeless death, etc
Then he is pretty sure I can handle Tsukihime. Of course, some things bother people more than others, so I'll keep it in mind.

I take it you've read it?

Went through every character's true ending. lol Got two of the 'good' endings but stopped there because they weren't really all that good and didn't feel like they were worth it. The endings kinda drew me away from it sadly, didn't seem like they were really worth it.

^ That

Tsukihime is good... but it has a lot of "wtf" moments that made me tilt my head a few times.

But then. I'm the twisted guy that loves Beatrice from Umineko. Eh... I'll try to aim for the true endings mostly, but then... I never went past Near-Side.

I honestly hate Far-Side secretly. Mostly because I hate Kohaku. Far-Side is something that should be interesting to touch after all this time...

I almost didn't understand that this page was about comic books and manga. I've never heard somebody refer to those as "visual novels"... lol

Higurashi is awesome. That's about all I have to say about this thread thus far.

Tsukihime story is good but the endings are..."interesting." >.>

Kitty will handle Tsukihime fine. I have the anime, and I'm too lazy to look for a torrent, so if you want it from me, I'll look for my disc.

I'm honestly too lazy to finish most things, so I tend to just read a bunch of stuff out of the medium.

I think my most recent VN would be BlazBlue. The Story mode of BlazBlue is like a VN, sort of like Melty Blood I suppose. *still hasn't finished them*
