Mixed Pet Clutch :: Handed over to the Warleader by the Weyrwoman, a clutch of eleven eggs with mixed parentages will be hatching next Friday, 6.18.10. Candidates and Dragon Slave will get the least opportunity at this clutch, but are allowed to stand.

Candidate and Dragon Slave Drive :: A large push for candidates and dragon slaves is going on right now due to the upcoming dragon Hatching. Both males and females are needed, though males more so (especially heterosexual males). This means that all dragon riders will be pushed to grab 'slaves from holds, especially those not near the weyr itself (to try and strengthen those relationships. Please remember there is a difference between candidates and dragon slaves, but both are extremely needed.

Dragon Hatching :: The hatching you have all been waiting for will be planned within the next week or so, depending on how many candidates we have at that time. This is a very plot vital clutch and will have some surprising twists, so its one you won't want to miss.

Gold Wher Run :: I will soon be speaking to Astara, Aleczanjesk's owner, to schedule her Gold wher's Run, which will result in a plot-driven clutch. But this does mean we need male whers, so get cracking.

DragonRider Push and Flights : Male riders, (both male riders and male dragons being ridden) are especially needed at this moment so that Flights can start being scheduled. Flights can be scheduled at any time for after the end of this month.

Advertising Contest :: The current contest, one for advertising and recruiting, is already on a roll, but unfortunatly has only two participants, with at least three great prizes! There is still plenty of time to get in on this contest, but don't let the two current participants get too far ahead of you.

Weyrleader Flight :: Krimhilderth's maiden Flight, which will also choose the leader of the weyr when she Rises for the first time. A call for males has gone out, and a list of NPC males available to be used by those without any males just to add some interest will be posted right before the Flight. The winner of this Flight will not only earn the coveted position of weyrleader, but will also win double marks.

Junior Weyrwoman Contest :: The contest for this high ranking position will be opening up at the end of this month (June) and will run through the next (July) to Choose the hatchling Gold or any age fertile Blizzard that will fall into the junior position. Three of the highest approved females will be Chosen by the members while the Admins make the final decision, and all participating will earn 10 marks (twenty marks go to the winner if it is a Gold, while forty marks if it is a Blizzard).

::Dragon Touching will be opening up tomorow, Saturday the 19th, and will be open for two weeks. Hatching will begin on July the third and last about a week. Please pm an admin if the hatching dates will be any sort of problem for you.

::The hatching of the Ancient Tunes clutch has begun in the rider's weyrs. Go check it out if you want a swimmer, flyer, or walker of your very own.

::Lesson Plans for Grim Weyrlings have been posted. Please be aware of how we are going to run things, and get ready to start the Friday after the Hatching has ended.

::The Junior Weyrwoman contest is open. Get cracking on those Blizzards and Golds in attempt to take up secondary position in the weyr.

::Gold Krimhilderth will be Rising at the end of July, around the 25th/27th. Because of this we need as many males as we can, so anyone creating a Bronze or Darkness will earn 20 marks, and an Avalanche or Brown will earn 15 marks. The winner of the Flight will be able to help design five of the dragonets for the Clutch, as well as post Impression posts for those five, on top of being Weyrleader.

::The Grim hatching is almost over, with only two eggs left on the sands attention is turning to the plot running alongside it.. What do the dual bonded green and blue, their handler, and the five young girls and boys they are dragging around have to do with the weyr, and why are they hiding? Also, what is the mysterious gold apparently directing their actions? And... What is this about the dead eggs?

::Ammolite Darling is Swimming. Get your flitters and riverlizards after her. Completion of her mating swim will result in a nice little clutch.

::Candidates, either for dragons or whers, will be earning double marks for creation throughout the rest of July. With Gold Krimhilderth's Flight at the end of July (with some very... interesting dragons, let me promise that now, so... >>), and a Gold Wher Run (to be planned), any and all candidates are needed.

::Ammolite Darling's Solar Sights Clutch, laid in the Hearth of the Kitchens, shall be Hatching soon, and with only three lovely eggs, competition is going to be stiff for those looking for a brand new partner/pet.

::Gold Krimhilderth's Flight has ended, making S'an and Darkness Dannikath your new Weyrleaders! This also means that a Clutching and Hatching will be upcoming, so get those candidates ready.

::Gold Riverlizard Scylla is Swimming as this is typed, and with such a... okay, not quite lovely female, on her way, is there any reason to keep her longing? Get to it!

::Green Wher Karask has started her Run, and she won't wait for stragglers. Hop to it if you want a chance at this beauty!

::The whers that attacked the weyr have been beaten back, or perhaps that isn't the right word... It seemed as if they ran away, but with such bold schemes, and such a successful surprise attack, why merely give up their position of power? It seems not everything is as it may appear at first, and with the remains of five extra eggs on the sands, and the death of the former weyrleader, no one is really sure what is going on.

::A strange call has gone out to the dragons and whers of Lyris, originating from what appears to be an injured Green, who says she herself is from Lyris, but do any recognize her name? She seems to be carrying something pretty important, and is being chased by unseen enemies... Will the Lyris defenders be able to reach her in time to make a distance, or will her strangeness warn them off?

::Searchdragons and slave catchers are to be on high alert for both escaping slaves as well as picking up new candidates! With a Gold dragon clutching, any and all candidates are needed on the sands!

::The advertising and mutation creation contest is open for a little less than two weeks longer, so get your entries in for both categories!

::The combined lesson 2 and 3 has been posted for Grim weyrlings, an OOC lesson that NO one should miss.

::Green Ivaartadeth, saved from near certain death at the hands of some wherhandlers from an unnamed by a group from Lyris, comes bearing gifts! Nine wher eggs, including a Queen egg, as well as one that is... well, rather oddly dragonlike, are now sitting before their green 'mother'. No where near as touchy as a gold would be, wherhandlers and candidates are invited to come and check out the eggs. Wher candidates (and those hoping for further impression on their current wher-handlers) should get ready.
(Those with characters hoping for a multiple bond hatchling should pm me as soon as possible. I'm looking for at least most of the babies to have partners before I set a Hatching date.)

::Gold Krimhilderth and Darkness Dannikath present their lovely Apocalypse Clutch on the Hatching Sands... Fifteen healthy eggs, including a surprising Queen Egg, now lay around the Queen. Candidates are highly encouraged for this clutch

::A missive sent by foreign dragons has made its way into Shannisoran's hands, and it seems to have set her in quite a bad mood. Obviously of some import, and marked with another weyr's seal, what kind of impact will it have upon the weyr?

::Winter is soon to be upon us, and with that means snow and blizzards. Though attacks are rare from the holds, Bandit and Pirate attacks seem to triple during this time of the year. A Gather will be held at the end of our 'year', at the soon to be opened Lyris Hold. Set in the shadows of the weyr itself, and highly guarded, it houses many of the dragonrider's families and freed slaves who have become loyal to Lyris. Though small, its a perfect spot for traveling caravans to stop on their way to the weyr or other areas.

::Lesson 4 of the Grim Weyrlings is now officially open. Go post or M'tas may have your weyrling cleaning out the latrines.

::The August contest is almost officially over, so get your contest entries in! We need lots of characters for our two major upcoming Hatchings, so recruit, recruit, recruit!

Activity Check : I'm incredibly pleased by the current turn out for our activity check, and though its obvious not everyone has stayed active, we do have quite the base building up. If you haven't yet signed the Activity Check, do so as soon as you can. Those who fail to post in the activity check will be put on restricted status for two weeks before being deleted, and their characters moved to the 'dead' section. Afterward, I shall be looking at the lists and seeing what characters we need, possibly reopening availabilities for some ranks. Recruit, recruit, recruit for upcoming plots and hatchings! For the next three months, anyone who gets a new person to join and create characters will receive 25 marks per person! Get to it!

Wher Hunt : A supervised hunt for the wild whers has been planned and will be starting soon. Everyone should have already created and hatched their wild wher. Those who haven't must do so before the Hunt to participate.

Hatching Feast : Congratulations to all the new Weyrlings who impressed at Krimhilderth's Apocalypse Clutch! We managed to wipe out our candidate pool, but its more than worth it, especially considering the great pairings and a few oddities! I hope everyone had fun, and would like to thank both Mellody and Night for helping to make it so special. A Hatching Feast is underway in the banquet hall, so see you there!

Weather : The weather has been getting pretty nasty around Lyris Weyr and Hold lately, winter storms blow in with a vengeance, dumping inches of snow every time. When it isn't snowing, its actually pretty fun to be outside, and apparently it is possible for dragons to make snow angels...

Plot : There is an exciting new plot heading the weyr's way after the Hatching Feast (sometime within the next two weeks). Everyone will be able to participate, encouraged in fact, so get ready to join in!

Candidate Call : A call is going out for both wher and dragon candidates. While neither ranks have Hatchings upcoming terribly soon, its always good to get those characters in and start setting them up for a better chance at any Hatching. Candidates from Lyris Hold will be able to be created as well, usually dragonrider's children or drudge children, while most outer Holds are beginning to really resent sending their children in. Slaving is definitely up after Krimhilderth's hatching, and the wher hatching, wiped out the candidate pools.

Contests : The September Create a Character contest will be drawing to a close shortly, with winners posted just after, and the October contest has already been planned and will be under way on the first of the new month. Get your entries in for the September contest!

Gather : The gather, which had been planned for October, will be pushed back one month to make way for the upcoming plot, as well as to plan it just a tad bit better. Events and contests and special prizes will be given out during the Gather, as well as opening up lower prices for some of those much wanted items (especially the rarer ones), so its not something you'll want to miss.

Grim Weyrlings : You've made it over halfway! At almost eleven months of age, males may begin Chasing any Rising females, while females have to wait just a tad bit longer to Rise. Lesson 7 is currently open, to be closed on Friday, to make way for Lesson 8. After that its only three more lessons until graduation!

Apocalypse Weyrlings : Congratulations on making it past that rather tumultuous Hatching. A Feast is currently open for your class, and weyrling lessons, under S'erin of Blizzard Shiveth, will begin soon.

Fairy Wherlings : Another big congratulations goes out to this group. I'm sure no one really expected that little plot twist of the Forsaken, (I hope no one expected it, anyway), and I hope to see more threads with these wherlings going on! Wherling lessons under Guy of Bronze Guysk will begin soon. Those who multiple bonded at this Hatching are encouraged to attend lessons, but it is not required.

Blood Flight - Ziarreth : Blood Ziarreth is Rising, and while several males have shown up, its not enough. She wants males, and she wants them now, and I'd suggest not keeping her waiting.

Rainbow Run - Merosk : Moonstone Merosk has taken to the night in her Run, and she'd waiting for no male. I'd hop to it if you want any chance of actually catching her.

Upcoming Flights : (I'd love to see more dragon flights... Also, if you have a flitter/riverlizard/mountainlizard you'd like to see clutch, PM me to schedule a flight.)
