OOC: I'll be using Kinamar when he's approved. We never did finish that battle to see who was the better RPBer on TBM. LOL. So lets restart the fireworks here. This time though you won't be able to use any repetitive lightning blasts oh no no. No spells / summonings / evoations / invocations / arcana / mana / magicka/ whatever you want to call it to try and siddle around no magic allowed, just a straight fight. Do you accept this challenge?
IC: Kinamar strode through the Forest of Nador to a small glade. The trees around him stretched high up into the air and their thin trunks bent to and fro in the wind. Kinamar was alone. The silence of the forest calmed him and gave him a sense of peace. He drew his sword and closed his eyes, concentrating on the soundless air. He spun the sword at either of his sides a few times slowly then erupted into a flurry of spins and twists, his sword never even brushing his flapping cape. He stopped suddenly and immediately sheathed his sword. He squinted, trying to listen to the silence. The sound of a twig cracking breaking the silent air made him turn on his heel. Something darted behind a tree quickly as Kinamar's gaze turned towards them. He smirked thinly and began to walk over to the tree. He layed his hand upon the dry cracked bark and looked around, but no one was there. He stood upright and smiled before spinning around, his fist outstretched. A figure was caught completely by surprise and was sent sprawling across the ground. 'You give yourself more credit than you deserve young one. I shall put you in you place.' Kinamar said in his deep gruff voice. He drew his sword and stepped into the glade, readying himself for the battle ahead. |

OOC: Okaay, I'm ready! XD May the best man win eh?
IC: Adrastos had been walking through the forest on a hunting trip. He had his bow slung on his back and his hand constantly rested on the hilt of his sword. The forest was alot quieter than usual and it somewhat, 'disturbed' Adrastos. He was too used to the sounds of birds chirruping from the trees or the sound of hoves from deer running by. Even the sound of flowing water was absent in this part of the woods. Adrastos was cautious since something must have feared the animals that live here. This slightly pissed Adrastos off since it made hunting much more difficult. Adrastos smiled grimly. He'll find who it was and dispose of whoever it was. He continued walking, keeping his eyes peeled for any movement. He sniffed the air, picking up the scent of someone or some people. He followed the scent and eventually came to a forest glade. He saw a knightly person turn around swiftly and send someone sprawling to the floor with a punch. Adrastos looked from the one who was punched, to the older person. "A Crimson Knight?" he thought. He saw the knight draw his sword and step into the glade, standing over the other person. Adrastos realised that this was the time he should step in. He got his bow and notched an arrow. He fired the arrow, not aiming to hit his new opponent, but to grab his attention. That distraction was all the other person needed to scramble up onto his feet and run off. Adrastos put his bow back on his back and drew out his sword. It shone brightly as he stood in the shaft of sunlight from the thick canopy of the woods. Adrastos smiled as his opponent turned to him. His opponent seemed like an experienced swordsman. He wore a huge bear cloak and is well muscled. Adrastos noticed that his opponent also had a crossbow, and his armour seemed really strong. His opponent was near twice the age Adrastos was, and most likely to be a little wiser. Adrastos knew this was not going to be an easy fight. He got into a defencive stance and waited. "Your fight is with me!" he shouted. "I am Adrastos! Son of the great Adonis! Tell me, who may you be?" he asked. Adrastos was ready for any sort of attack, but it seemed that his opponent was honourable enough to have a fair fight, no suprise attacks involved. |

Kinamar lowered his sword momentarily to his side to speak. He brushed his greying hair to the side.
'I am Kinamar, cast out from a life and not the one you want to mess with.' he said seriously. Kinamar retook his stance, sword held at waist height and pointing directly towards Adrastos. He began to circle his eyes constantly fixed upon Adrastos'. Both men were ready to fight as from the heavens above fell a single snowflake. A blizzard was coming, carried by the wind from the mountains to the east. 'I hope you like the cold, boy, because its about to get chilly.' Kinamar smirked. Kinamar spun the sword at his side and stepped forwards determinedly, bringing his sword, Mirnia, in a slow arc from the left to right then a spin overhead. The blade crashed towards Adrastos' head and Kinamar was ready for any parrying counters. |

Adrastos smiled. "Not a life I want to mess with, but a life that I shall end with my blade!" he said. He saw his opponent attack, bringing his sword towards Adrastos' head. Adrastos brought his sword up, easily parrying the blow. He thrust back, forcing the blade of his opponent's sword back. Adrastos stepped back as snow began falling a little heavier. "I lived most of my life in these woods! You think I'm not used to the cold?!" he said.
Adrastos circled his opponent, keeping his eyes fixed on his opponent's. The trees rustled in the wind, getting fiercer by the minute. "Don't forget Kinamar! You're in my woods!" he shouted above the wind. Adrastos sprang at his opponent, bringing hi sword down upon his opponent's head, hoping to cleave him in two. If his opponent dodged, or parried that blow, he would duck down swiftly, swinging his sword horizontally at his opponents shins, hoping to either cripple him or atleast knock him off his feet. If he succeeded in either of them he would link another attack, stabbing down at his opponents face since he wore strong armour protecting his chest and abdomen. If his opponent dodged or parried any of these attacks, Adrastos would back away and stand in a defencive possition to wait for his opponent's attack. |

Kinamar watched as Adrastos leapt towards Kinamar. Smiling thinly to himself, Kinamar simply swung his sword as forcefully as possible towards Adrastos. Their swords clashed with a sound like thunder, the force knocking Adrastos back through the air. He clattered to the floor and groggily got to his feet.
'These may be your woods but I know them well myself.' Kinamar said, striding forwards. Not wanting to waste his precious time, Kinamar quickly made a swinging side slash and aimed the swords slash to continue through Adrastos' neck. |

OOC: Scott, you can't say that my character was thrown back.
IC: Adrastos felt the shock run up his arms as his blade clashed with his opponents. He gritted his teeth as he tried forcing his opponent back and follow up with another attack. Realising it wouldn't work, Adrastos backed away. His opponent attacked, swinging his sword at Adrastos' neck. Adrastos ducked it easily and made a low sweeping slash at his opponents legs. If he would succeed in hitting his opponent he would follow that with another attack slicing down at his opponents neck, but if he failed, he would back away. (OOC: This is if your character dodges his attack.) Adrastos backed away again. He stood there for awhile, with his sword held out infront of him. He smirked. Adrastos was still warming up. He was holding back quite alot, and if this was the best his opponent had then this would be an easy win for Adrastos. He waited awhile as the snow began falling even more heavier. It was beginning to stay on the ground, building up slowly. Even if Adrastos' opponent turned out to be stronger, Adrastos knew these woods inside out and could even set some surprises for his opponent if need be. There was a sudden gust of wind and Adrastos sprang forward, kicking up a cloud of snow behind him. He sliced at his opponents neck, ready to change the path of his attack if his opponent should dodge. Adrastos was expecting any parry movements and was ready to link yet another attack at his opponents arms if he should parry his first attack. Wether these attacks hit or not he'd back away and go into a defencive stance with his sword held infront of him. |

OOC: God-modding only counts if it benefits the person that does it. I just parryed a blow. Nothing advantageous about that especially since i also put that you got to your feet. Anyhoo i ain't done yet!
IC: Kinamar jumped the sneaky low blow. The blade narrowly missing the bottom of his boots. He landed heavily again, aiming for Adrastos' head but unfortunately he roled away. He was beginning to become annoyed at the persistance of this meddlesome boy. In the moments when they were apart, Kinamar thought about what to do next. He also watched Adrastos' every movement like a hawk, awaiting the slightest quiver in his opponent's motionless state. He noticed a slight crouch in Adrastos' stance inorder to gain some spring in his jump and prepared for the attack, unknownst to his opponent. Adrastos sprang forwards, sword aimed at Kinamar's neck. As the sword came closer and closer to Kinamar's skin he simply smiled. Miliseconds before contact, Kinamar dropped, pulling his crossbow out as he fell. Adrastos had exposed himself with the outstretched slash and Kinamar fired his crossbow at Adrastos' open side. OOC: Always know your opponents weapons and abilities. |

OOC: Actually I was expecting such an attack
IC: Adrastos' eyes widened as his opponent dropped down aiming up at him with his crossbow. His opponent fired, and the bolt glanced off his side. Adrastos' armour saw to it that the bolt didn't do any serious damage. His opponent was foolish enough to aim at his side where he was least likely to be hurt much. The bolt had done no serious damage, just a small cut which hardly bothered Adrastos, though it did cause him to wince slightly. Adrastos leaped forwards, landing with a role. He swiftly faced his opponent with his longbow drawn with an arrow pointed at him. Adrastos fired and the arrow flew at Kinamar at an alarming speed. Adrastos wasn't expecting it to kill his opponent there and then, but it was mainly to distract his opponent if not injure him. Adrastos swiftly put his bow back over his shoulder and sprang at his opponent, drawing out his sword and swinging it swiftly at his opponent's neck, hoping to cut off his head. He purposely swung with too much power, and his sword would either pass over his opponent if his opponent ducked, or pass through his opponents neck if he didn't. Either way, Adrastos would duck and make another swig at his opponent legs, and because of the speed of his swing it would be really difficult to duck the first swing and jump, or even parry the second. If his opponent should parry the first swing, Adrastos would swing for the other side of his opponent's neck and do the same attack as he planned. Adrastos would then back away to see the damage he had done, and if his opponent survived the attacks, he'd be in a defencive stance, ready for any kind of attack. OOC: Btw, god-modding is also controlling other characters. That's not allowed at all in battles. |

OOC: The steel shoulder armour wouldn't block a crossbow bolt, especially a war bolt because even plate steel armour can't block a war bolt from a crossbow. Plus the underside of the shoulder area is the weakest armour point. I suggest you change it to dodge or just scrape you otherwise you've lost the use of your arm.
edit by drach: Weakest points in armour are: neck and arm pit shoulder plates are thick since there armour doesn't obstruct movement. And at all times players may decide themselfs how strong their armour is if you have problems with your opponents post please tell the mod wich is judging the battle. Question by FF: What's a war bolt? I have done some research on bows and crossbows for a character of mine but war bolts didn't come up. Perhapse you mean "broadhead" boltheads |

OOC: If the bolt was aimed at the side, it would glance off because the steel would deflect it. And, your bio doesn't mention anything about a warbolt.

OOC: At such close range the bolt warbolt or normal bolt would penetrate the armour. Its not at that flat an angle. Its fired at about 45 degrees so its even if it did deflect from your side armour it would rebound into your arm. BOOYA lol.

OOC: Time to continue i think.
IC: Kinamar got to his feet and used the time he had to assess the situation at hand. He drew his sword once again and stepped back several metres. Looking at the floor he sighed and thought for a moment. He finished thinking and looked up at his opponent, who was standing there rubbing his arm where the bolt had hit. 'You seem a man of honour.' Kinamar shouted. 'Yes, why do you say.' his opponent replied. 'I just want to know that I'm fighting someone remotely worthy of my time.' Kinamar mocked. His opponent braced after the small insult. Kinamar raised his sword with the tip pointed towards Adrastos. 'Now show me you are worthy of my precious time.' Kinamar said challengingly. He smiled and waited for Adrastos to make a move. |

OOC: It's about time!
IC: Adrastos smirked as he looked at his opponent. Once again he felt the exhiliration that only a good fight gives, and Adrastos loved the feeling. It wasn't often he got to fight, and when he did have the occasional fight, his opponent was normally too weak and was disposed of very easily. However, his new opponent proved to be alot more of a challenge than he had first expected. Now they were ready to continue fighting. Adrastos took a few paces to the left, and then back. His opponent offered the first attack, though it was likely he had something planned. However, Adrastos took this opportunity non-the-less. He charged at his opponent in an extremely fast movement, feinting a slash at his opponent's neck, but then twirling around so he was behind his opponent and then bringing his sword in an upward slash at his opponent's sword arm. Adrastos would then backflip away, attempting to kick his opponent in the face in the same movement. He would then bring out his bow and fire three arrows, one after the other really swiftly at his opponent, all towards his head since his opponent was likely to turn around to face Adrastos. Adrastos would then swiftly sling his bow back over his shoulders and unsheath his sword, ready to block or dodge any attack. |

OOC: You wouldn't exactly stay quiet would you lol. Pointless counting speaking as an opponent as god-modding. If i made u say sumthin stupid then maybe. Plus u caled Adrastos Adonis in the second paragraph.
IC: Kinamar brought his sword over his shoulder and lowered it, just managing to parry his opponent's blade before it cut into his flesh. He pushed backwards with his sword and shoulders to knock Adrastos off balance then sprang forwards, away from any counter attacks. Kinamar saw a brief sign of disappointment cross Adrastos' face. 'Not what you expected?' Kinamar said, smiling mockingly. Adrastos raised his bow and fired three arrows in unison. Kinamar brought up his sword and deflected the first two but the third arrow dug deep into his shoulder. Kinamar gritted his teeth and puled out the arrow, blood dripping from it's tip. He slung it aside and took up his crossbow. He retaliated by firing three bolts quickly at his opponent. |
