STAR WARS
EPISODE VII: THE SITH RESURRECTION
It is an age of chaos. The new SITH EMPIRE has won countless victories against the NEW REPUBLIC, capturing Outer Rim worlds with ease. The Jedi have fought against their fallen brothers and sisters, but to no avail. Hundreds of Jedi fall in battle to the Sith, and hundreds more join them.
The Republic is hard pressed to stop the Sith invasion; its numbers are few and its morale is low, but still it fights on. The battered fleets of the Republic have won several battles under the command of Admiral CORIG REIKEN, ensuring that not all hope is lost.
However, the Dark Lord of the Sith, DARTH FORIUN, intends to crush all who stands in his way to galactic domination. He has sent a part of his fleet to MON CALAMARI; a world that supplies the Republic with many of its Capital Ships. If the world should fall, the Jedi and the Senate would not be able to hold on much longer.
In response, a strike team has been sent to defend Mon Calamari for as long as it can against the dark forces of the Sith. . .
~ The shuttle shook slightly as yet another blaster cannon grazed its hull as the landing craft dropped smoothly from the battle above. Looking out of a port window, Jago saw the Republic Fleet trying to hold off the Sith invasion, and it wasn't looking good. Outnumbered about three-to-one, the Republic ships were fighting gallantly, but there was no way they could match the firepower of the enemy. Having just been apart of a team that boarded a Sith Capital Ship to take it over, Jago knew that somehow, the Sith had aquired technology that didn't seem of this universe.
Either way, it had nothing to do with his mission right now. The other Jedi in the shuttle with him were either meditating or staring calmly at the battle, as he was. They knew their mission, and if they failed, Mon Calamari was doomed.
It appeared that the Sith Fleet was just a distraction in the attack on the watery planet. An enemy demolitions team had landed on the planet and was trying to arm a UI-238 plasma bomb: A Planet Killer. If detonated, the blast from such an explosion would cut a planet to the core, destroying it. By any means necessary, the Jedi in the landing craft were told to prevent that event from occuring. Not only would the Republic lose a key military base in the sector if that happened, but millions of innocent people would be killed in such a blast, not to mention that Mon Calamari was a main supplier of bacta, the healing fluid capable to curing almost anything, even a person near death, to the Republic. If that medical resource was lost, the Republic death toll would skyrocket.
Suddenly, the shuttle began to shake again.
" Large object approaching from the right, picking up speed fast, callibrate port-side, vector two decimal four-seven, now!"
The navigator's commands to the pilot were followed with expert precision, and the Jedi seated in the craft's hangar bay were treated to a horrific sight. Apparently, A Republic Frigate, nearing the end of its life, had careened right into a Sith Attack Cruiser. The resultant explosion created such heat that it welded the ships together, and they plummeted to the surface of the planet below. With both of the ships losing their bridge, the commands to sustain their anti-grav thrusters were nullified, and Mon Calamari quickly drew the two vessels in. Jago watched in silent horror as the crafts hit the planet's atmosphere and began to burn up quickly. Within a few more minutes, the ships, as well as anyone inside them, would be burned to ash from superheated re-entry temperatures. It was a death every pilot and marine feared, and nothing could stop it once a ship lost its AG thrusters.
Silently, compared to what had just occured, the shuttle broke through the planet's atmosphere, and landed on a beachhead. The twenty Jedi in the ship's hold stepped out onto the sands, and watched in silence as the shuttle departed.
Right now, they would either save Mon Calamari, or die in a massive explosion from their failure. They knew the risks: that's why they had volunteered to accomplish what needed to be done. Among the gaggle of Force-users, four Masters gathered four Jedi Knights each, and they split into two even groups. One went to search a ravine to the North where the bomb was most-likely located, due to Ship-to-Surface Holotracker reports and pictures, and the other went to reinforce a Republic garrison that was besieged on-surface that had apparently attacked the convoy that was carrying the bomb.
With time against them, the Jedi could only hope that they reached the enemy as soon as possible. . .~

Vayne had spend the whole journey in silence, watching over the other Jedi. This one wasn't going to be easy. The ageing Jedi knew full well this could be his last mission, but he also knew that if this was successful, it would be a landmark victory for the republic.
Upon landing, the Jedi Master headed forward, looking around. He turned after a few moment, and called in his rough voice.
"Jago, Mikan, Inash, Luc, we're going this way. Prepare yourselves."
His group was to head to the garrison's position and aid them. He was lucky, to have such a promising group. The knights were well trained and skillful, and could well be considered as most likely to succeed.

~ Trudging along away from the two other groups, Jago followed Master Olem through a naturally-formed cave. The insides were dripping wet, signifying that at high tide, this cave was actually underwater. Since Mon Calamari was a sea-world anyway, this didn't surprise Jago.
The Jedi group's target was located holding a canyon about a half-an-hour's journey away, and from what the briefing had stated before the Jedi departed, this group of Republic troops had attacked and damaged a convoy transporting the UI-238 bomb, though the soldiers didn't know if the bomb had been moved since then. They had judged, by the convoy's directing and likely paths, where the bomb may have ended up, which was where the other Jedi team had headed to.
That attack on the convoy happened about an hour or so ago. Since then, that same Republic force had been under siege from Sith forces on all sides. Jago knew that in battle, parsecs seemed like days. For a battalion to hold out that long. . . they must've been some type of elite unit, Jago concluded.
As the group continued on, Jago felt a presence just outside the cave, whose end could be seen a few feet ahead of the Jedi.
" Master Olem. . .please wait for one second."
As his Master stopped, Jago crept toward the edge of the dank cave, preparing for anything. As he got closer to where he had felt the presence, Jago could sense emotions: Fear, malice, anger; they were all tools of the dark side. Republic troops could feel the same in the heat of battle, but these emotions. . .they were different. Almost as if the person feeling them had been trained to hate.In a flash, Jago stepped outside of the cave, drew his silver lightsaber, activated it, and cut down the Sith trooper in front of him as the soldier nearly pulled the trigger on his rifle, which would have delivered a super-heated plasma blaster shot right into Jago's head.
As the black-and-silver-clad soldier clutched his chest and fell into a heap at Jago's feet, a dozen more Sith troopers jumped up from the seagrass surrounding the edge of the cave. They didn't waste time with threats, and immediately let off several rounds of fire, which Jago deflected easily with his lightsaber, managing to strike one in the chest with his own shot.
Our shuttle must have been tracked. . .but I don't think they expected Jedi. . .
" Master Olem! Sith scout party!"
However, Jago's warning wasn't needed: already, the other Jedi had leapt out of the cave, lightsabers drawn. If this scout group managed to radio back to their main force, the Jedi's mission would be compromised. In all swiftness, the Knights and Masters had to eliminate this group before they could move on.~

Vayne ignited his saber quickly, heading to the fore of the group, whilst parrying any bolts flying his way. He looked around, before taking command calmly, his rough voice patient as ever.
"There are 11 left. Each of you take one down, now."
As each Jedi advanced on a target, Vayne himself made his move on a pair of troopers next to each other, cutting them down with relative ease.
His ears were met with a familiar scream, and he turned sharply to see Mikan, one of his old apprentices, shot down. But he had no time to dwell on his feelings, he had to aid the other Jedi.
"Jago! Get that one!"

~ As Master Olem directed the Jedi with the calm patience of a Master, Jago had seen Mikan Jul'dann cut down his target, only to be shot in the back repeatedly by another tropper that had hidden until an opportune moment.
Controlling his natural, human instinct to lash out in rage, Jago focused, took in a deep breath, and carried out Master Olem's orders. Rushing toward the soldier, Jago knocked away three shots easily before he was on top of him. In a swift, silvery flash, the soldier's head was rolling along the sands.
Before any more Jedi could fall, Jago reached out in the Force to touch the minds and bodies of his comrades. The Force could be used to motivate a group of people to perform better than they already could. Jago triggered the release of extra adrenaline in the Jedi, and affected the neural pathways in their minds that goverened morale: inspiring the Jedi to fight better, faster, and stronger.
This power that Jago had was known as Force Valor. He had used it many times before, and it had been the deciding factor in engagements where he had been outnumbered countless times.
Already, Jago could see the tell-tale signs of the power working: the already swift Jedi, drawing upon the Force for their strength, began to move quicker, react with better timing and preciseness, and fight with renewed vigor after the fall of one of their own. With such a boost to the Jedi, this battle would end in a few more seconds. . .~

~ The Jedi troop had walked for another 20 minutes before they came upon a coral forest: unique to water worlds. It was areas of land where the sea had retreated away, but coral and rock formations created by the water remained. Truly wonderous to behold, the Jedi could not take their eyes off of the forest. However, it was not for the area's beautiful spires of red, pink, lavender, cyan, and green formations that the Jedi continued to stare.
What was before the group was a battlefield. Hundreds of soldiers lay dead on the ground, some wearing the silver and black of the Sith Army, and others clad in the blue and white of the Republic's regular troops. Nearby a collapsed coral "tree" lay a Sith Tank: An IXT-34. Its powerful twin cannons lay upon its hover wings on each side of the closed cockpit, and, judging from several more destroyed trees ahead that looked like they had been cut at the roots by blaster fire, those weapons had been recently used.
Jago looked around for any clues as to how the battle had played out. He judged from the ratios of where the bodies had lain and the positions that soldiers had died in, as well as the blaster marks on the earth, that a Republic Force had arrived here before the Jedi, heading to reinforce the Spec Ops brigade. They had been jumped by a Sith attack group, defeated them, and had continued on.
Jago shared his thoughts with the other Jedi, who agreed. Now, with hope that there was more waiting for the group than just the thought of meeting reinforcements, the group slagged on. They found more wreckage signifying that the Sith group had tried to retreat, and their tanks and transports had been eliminated by Republic heavy weaponry. Having studied war measures, means, and weapons as part of his training (after all, one must understand war to understand peace), Jago knew that the Republic soldiers had brought something valuable with them: tanks and speeders. The enemy vehicles had been subdued by rockets from a Republic ARC-III medium hover tank.
With luck, some of those vehicles would have survived, giving the Jedi additional support when they went to search for the UI-238. The Jedi didn't need the vehicles for speed, however: at least with the additional transportation, Republic troops could accompany them.
Within the next ten minutes, the Jedi came upon the Republic camp, where Jago's thoughts were confirmed. Blue and white garbbed soldiers were tending to about 11 ARC-III's and maybe 20 or so speeder bikes, while Republic Commandos stood at positions all over the camp. Wearing sand yellows, whites and tans, the soldiers blended in quite well with their surroundings.
Jago left it to Master Olem to talk with the Republic squad's leader to come up with a plan of action. . .~
