Prologue

A while ago while I was doing a research on Imanuel Kant for philosophy project, I found a quote which I can't remember exactly but it goes something like this:

“There are two things which fill my soul with constantly new and larger admiration, fear and respect, each time I think about them: the stellar sky above me, and moral law inside me.”

This sentence carved into my mind and it is a source of most of my inspirations. In this book I won’t be doing some deep philosophical researches, though, I believe that you will forgive me if some of my characters are motivated by philosophy questions.

Stellar sky above me and moral law inside me… In this fantasy book you will find a new world in a galaxy faraway from ours, with Godlike beings which created other conscious beings, with free will and mind like our own, and which are lead by their own culture, religion and most important, their moral code inside them.

Unfortunately, sometimes that moral law is actually immoral and corrupted, and then we come across beings which thirst only for blood and vengeance. The morality is often prevailed by envy, greed, hate, jealousy, and hunger for power… Then we can only repeat what Albert Camus once said:

“The reign of beasts has begun!”

But again if the world was without any NATURAL evil and suffering, we would never be taught to love, courage, tolerance, compassion and kindness. Maybe we would, but without any opposites to nobility of our hearts, would we know that good is actually good? It may sound confusingly but we need that natural evil cause it makes us appreciate love and kindness more...

I will try to go over different aspects of human life, such as hope, love, religion, guilt, freedom, life and death. But also the significant meaning of dreams and destiny.

Sometimes a person may seek a sanctuary in their religion. What happens when that religion is denied, when one is judged for ones religion, when one isn’t sure in what to believe etc. are just some of the questions that this book will be dealing with.

Freedom is also a question that I’ll try to discuss. Here, again I’ll use a quotation, this time from Aristotle:

“It is thus clear that, just as some are by nature free, others are by nature slaves and for these latter the condition of slavery is both beneficial and just.”

Some will say that everything is condemned to destruction. That everything God or nature creates and everything good that is on the world is always shattered. I won’t try to convince them differently, after all, we are all given free will and we are free to make our own choices and to have our own opinions.

In the end I will use one more, last quotation, this time by George Santayana:

“There is no cure for birth and death, save to enjoy the interval.”

"I don't suffer from insanity but enjoy every minute of it."
