Title: The Lab
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 04:53 AM (GMT)
Come here to pick up your first pokemon.
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 04:56 AM (GMT)
Cody walked in, the wide-open doors being open as today was the day many pokemon trainers began their journeys. Cody walked in, knowing already what pokemon he was going to get. He expected more trainers, however, was disappointed when he saw all three starters still here. "Am I first?" He asked the professor, somewhat glad as now he knew they had his starter.
Amy Pennington - September 4, 2010 05:01 AM (GMT)
Amy had her mother's driver drop her off in front of Professor Oak's lab. "That'll do. Thank you, you may return home," she told the driver, somewhat emotionlessly. She was tired of her servants. Why couldn't her parents see her off just this once? It was an important day for her. Not that she should be surprised.
She walked up to Professor Oak. There was only one boy there so far. She paid him no mind.
"I'm here to get my Bulbasaur please," she said.
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 05:03 AM (GMT)
Cody turned to the girl walking past him, in shock. The word Fucker went through his mind as she asked for what she wanted, wasting no time. "Uh, no," He said defiantly. He moved in front of her, staring her in the eye. "I was here first. First come, first serve."
Amy Pennington - September 4, 2010 05:08 AM (GMT)
Amy rolled her eyes. She was used to getting what she wanted and she didn't have time for this boy here pushing her out of the way.
"Haven't you ever heard of ladies first?" she asked him coldly. She received her Pokemon and then turned around and walked out. On her way out she pushed past him and said, "Learn some chivalry." And then she was gone.
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 05:17 AM (GMT)
Cody's face clearly showed shock. He hadn't been treated like that in a long while. He grabbed the pokeball to the left of hers, which should have been the one with the type advantage. He ran after her, angered. "Chivalry's dead!" he shouted as he tossed his pokeball out.
Amy Pennington - September 4, 2010 05:25 AM (GMT)
Amy stopped and smirked. So this boy wanted to be her first battle did he? "I don't think so," she said without turning around. "Chivalry isn't dead, but your attitude sure is." She kept walking, ignoring the Squirtle that the boy had thrown out of its Pokeball. Perhaps she'd battle him someday. That day just wasn't today.
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 05:27 AM (GMT)
Cody growled, not wanting to let this go. "Squirtle! Tackle!" he called. If she didn't want to use her pokemon, that's her decision. A bad one, but hey? Cody wasn't ready to let this go, he hated those who disrespected him, especially her. She looked like someone who was handed what she wanted, and he definitely wasn't giving her anything.
Amy Pennington - September 4, 2010 04:10 PM (GMT)
Amy rolled her eyes at the boy's foolishness. She held out her foot to keep the little Squirtle from nearing her. It was quite a comical scene actually. "Obviously, chivalry isn't the only thing you need to learn, but also when you're dismissed," she said, getting annoyed by him now. Oh well, this wouldn't take too too long.
She let out her Pokemon for the very first time, kicked the little Squirtle back and then sent her Bulbasaur in to fight it.
"Bulbasaur, Tackle," she said.
Isao Hiroshi - September 4, 2010 04:47 PM (GMT)
Isao walked towards the pokemon lab only to see two children battling. He saw the anger in the girls eyes and the shock in the boys. he walked past them and grinned "Young love I see" Chuckling quietly to himself.
He looked for professor oak and found him waiting by some pokeballs. walking up to him he said "hello I am Isao, its good to see you in health". after some frivolous pleasantries he proceeded to say "I would like a squirtle if you could spare it please".
Isao received his Squirtle from Professor Oak and then he was on his way to finally start his own Pokemon journey, even though it was a late start. Better late than never!
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 07:37 PM (GMT)
Cody growled a bit as he saw her kick his pokemon. REALLY!? Cody spit out another attack, "Tackle again!" before hoping that it would work before the Bulbasaur hit.
To his dismay, the Bulbasaur struck the Squirtle in his side, making him skid a bit. Squirtle then charged at Bulbasaur, his hand by his side as he sent a swipe past his face. The way Bulbasaur turned in pain, it looked like it did somewhat more damage than the tackle, but it looked like he could take more damage overall aswell.
"That's it, Kobalt! Give her another Tackle attack!"
Raza: 16/21
Kobalt: 16/20
Amy Pennington - September 4, 2010 08:35 PM (GMT)
((You DO know Squirtle's attack is Tackle right? Not Scratch XD))
"Raza, keep up the Tackles," Amy called out to her new Pokemon. This first battle of theirs was proving to be tougher than she expected, but they would pull through she was sure. If not now, then Amy was sure to track the boy down again once Raza learned some grass type moves. Grass was super effective against water and she'd surely have the upper hand then.
Raza tackled the Squirtle, but the Squirtle wasn't giving in yet.
Raza - 11/21
Kobalt - 12/20
Isao Hiroshi - September 4, 2010 09:08 PM (GMT)
Isao took the pokeball happy to get started on his mini adventure. he spoke with a smile "than kyou professor oak, I will have to catch as many pokemon as possible" he said happily. He left off the single pokeball heavy in his hand and some spares in the back of his belt.
Isao walked past the battling trainers again, the battle had just started, but he would rather catch a few pokemon than sit around watching a battle he couldn't join. He headed off to find a couple of types of pokemon he had heard about wandering nearby.
(exit post to route 1)
Cody Ryan - September 4, 2010 09:34 PM (GMT)
(( I also know I'm not the one who made the damned lab post >.> ))
Cody sneered a bit. He noticed when he walked in there was a health chamber, so he could revive Kobalt when he needed to. From the looks of it, the girl across from him would need to, aswell. Though it looked like she had the upper hand, her Bulbasaur was still going to be damaged after the fight. "Give`er another Tackle!" he called.
Raza and Kobalt both raged forward, jumping just before contact in mid-air. Neither pokemon was ready to give up, nor would they be until one was finished. The pokemon flew back a bit after the struggle, both panting slightly. They were enemies now and forever.
Raza - 6/21
Kobalt - 8/20
Amy Pennington - September 4, 2010 10:14 PM (GMT)
Raza was doing her best in the battle and Amy could see it. Win or lose, Amy had gotten a great Pokemon. Raza would battle with everything she had and that was apparent to her now.
"Go Raza! Don't give up! More Tackles!" she called out. She could already feel the bond forming between her and her new Pokemon.
Raza - 1/21
Kobalt - 4/20
Amy was starting to get nervous now. Raza looked on her last leg. One more hit and she'd be out. They'd have to rely on speed alone to win this one. Amy hoped it was enough.
Leon Anderson - September 4, 2010 10:53 PM (GMT)
Leon marched into Professor Oak's laboratory with a confident stride, a triumphant yet pleasantly cheerful grin stretched across his face. Despite a few scratches and cuts obtained during the last leg of his journey, Leon appeared completely unfazed; on the contrary, he wore them like badges to represent his sheer tenacity. In his fit of euphoria, the boy hardly even took notice of the two slightly younger children engaged in some sort of grudge match. Leon was so fixated on the prospect of getting his hands on his first Pokemon that the only attention he gave to the dueling Trainers was the fact that the rather irritable-looking boy was using a Squirtle. In fact, it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that he looked very much like the picture of nonchalance- totally relaxed and content with the state of the world. Leon stared at the Lab for a moment and gave a subtle, optimistic smile to nobody in particular, letting out a deep sigh before clenching his fist and approaching the building.
The boy walked through the open doors to the Lab's interior, looking around with a sense of wonder at the various tomes dedicated to the finer nuances of Pokemon as well as the scientists hard at work in their attempts to uncover the endless mysteries surrounding the creatures. In the midst of it all was Professor Oak himself, standing next to a series of Pokeballs organized according to which Starter lived inside. One of those contained his Squirtle. "Professor Oak?" Leon asked politely, approaching to introduce himself. "It's great to finally meet you. My name's Leon Anderson, and if you'd be so kind, I'd like a Squirtle." He continued, eager to finally get his hands on his first Pokemon. After all, this moment was two years in the making.
Leon received his Squirtle from Professor Oak along with 5 Pokeballs and was then sent on his way to finally start his Pokemon journey.
Cody Ryan - September 5, 2010 12:14 AM (GMT)
Raza and Kobalt raged again, both running towards eachother. However, Raza's speed was indeed faster. Though they both looked exactly as exhausted, if not Raza more than Kobalt, they were both raring to go. Raza darted to the side last second, and struck Kobalt from the side. Squirtle screamed his name once before skidding unconsious across the floor. Cody was in dismay.
Raza: 1/21
Kobalt: FAINTED
Cody sighed as he returned Squirtle to his pokeball, and turned to use Professor Oak's healing chamber. Right after he did so, he ran past Amy, determined to train in the oncoming routes and become stronger than her (though, without knowing, he actually was).
Amy Pennington - September 5, 2010 12:18 AM (GMT)
(Pfft, how so? >.> I just won you butt)
Amy smirked in triumph. "Good job Raza, our first victory together." She praised her new Bulbasaur. She recalled Raza to her pokeball and as the boy ran past her after healing his Squirtle she shook her head. This was why she preferred Pokemon to people. She took her Bulbasaur inside and healed it up, then she was finally on her way to start her journey.
Leon Anderson - September 5, 2010 01:37 AM (GMT)
Leon graciously accepted the Pokeball, hastily giving his thanks to the sage old man without losing his courteous, polite tone of voice. Taking one last look around the impressive collection of knowledge to be found in the Laboratory, Leon reflected on the world that had just opened up to him. As he turned and began walking toward the open doorway, he focused his gaze down toward the Pokeball clutched tightly in his hand. Inside the tiny red-and-white sphere was his ticket to the journey of a lifetime, as well as the dream he'd been chasing after for most of his life. His eyes gleamed with the sort of fiery passion exclusive to a Pokemon Trainer embarking on his quest, and Leon began to consider that he was on the brink of accomplishing something glorious. Should he play his cards right, his name could very well go down in the history books. The skies themselves were the limits, it seemed, as the boy exited the lab with the same confident stride as he entered it with.
By the time he'd arrived outdoors, the battle that had been going on earlier had already finished. He smirked at the sight of it, knowing full well that in just a few short minutes, he, too, would be engaged in such struggles. Leon took a deep breath of Pallet Town's fresh air and expanded his lungs before letting it out in a dramatic sigh. A breeze picked up as if to signify the beginning of his journey. Leon caught sight of a stray leaf blowing in the wind, turning his head to trace its path. The leaf brought his focus toward Route 1, prompting him to lower his hat and leer toward his next destination. Setting off at a brisk pace, Leon broke out into an overjoyed laugh. The region was his oyster, and it was all because of the Squirtle he held in his hand. I'll have to let him out to thank him once I get to Route 1... His thoughts echoed in his head as he crossed over Pallet Town's city limits.

Steven Thomson - September 5, 2010 05:00 PM (GMT)
“Finally made it...” Steven puffed, coming up on the lab. It had been a longer walk between Pallet Town and Viridian then he had expected and had really tired him out. “Aww man, I’m in really bad shape. Maybe I should rethink this.” he thought to himself. He shook he head to clear his mind of the thought. “No, I’ve already made my decision. I’m going to go through with this, I won't turn back.”
Steven approaches the lab and enters. “Yo, anyone home? Oh, hey Doc.” he says, spotting the Professor. “I’m a new trainer, here for a Pokémon.” Steven approaches the three Pokeballs next to the professor. He hadn’t put much thought into which one he would pick, but now was decision time. He would have to make up his mind. He first inspects the Bulbasaur. It seemed like a decent Pokemon, well built and full of energy. One glace was all it took for him to make up his mind. He didn’t even bother to look at the other two choices. “Hey, I think I’ll go with this guy.” he says picking up the Pokeball.
Steven received his Bulbasaur from Professor Oak along with 5 Pokeballs and was then sent on his way to finally start his Pokemon journey.
“Hey, thanks Doc.” Steven said with a nod. “Take care old man.” he calls as he exits the lab.
“Alright, step one complete.” Steven mutters to himself. “Route 1 should be my first destination if I remember correctly. Time to do this...”
(move to Route 1)
Micky Buchanon - September 5, 2010 06:40 PM (GMT)
The door to the lab was pushed open as rather beaten up boy with a bloody lip and dirt torn clothes stumbled in. "heh..." was all he could say as he used his hand to wipe the dripping blood from his face. Micky has encountered a rather enticingly beautiful girl on his way to the lab and had decided to flirt with her. It was all going fine too, the girl was blushing and she was going to give Micky her contact information. However she failed to mention she had a boyfriend and Micky found that out the hard way as he was attacked by the boy and his two friends.
However that was the past and Micky was looking forward to the future. He looked around at the fairly high-tech lab and then noticed the three pokeballs lying on a table in the middle of the room. Behind that table Micky then noticed Professor Oak, he presumed, standing behind the table. Micky walked toward the table with a slight limp and looked at the three pokeballs. One pokeball had the label with Charmander on it. Micky then took a picture from out his pocket of the starter pokemon he wanted. On the picture was a red-orange colored pokemon with tail and the name Charmander under it.
Micky smirked as he knew this was it, the pokemon he would begin his journey with. Micky then looked up at the professor smiling. "Professor Oak...Mind if I have the charmander?" As Micky said this he was pointing at the pokeball with the Charmander label under it and he possessed a rather large smile on his face. Nothing could ruin the optimism and glee Micky was feeling at this very moment and if anything he was a little impatient because he wanted to begin his journey immediately.
Professor Oak nodded, giving the boy the ball with the Charmander in it. Mickey happily accepted it and began on his way to Route 1 and the start of his journey.
Kayla Walters - September 5, 2010 07:55 PM (GMT)
Kayla Rae Walters...
As the sun rose over the hilltops, the small beams of light creeped through Kayla's window and made its way to her eyes making her blink multiple times as she woke up. Rubbing her eyes with her hands she sat up in bed. She glanced over at her alarm clock, which had yet to go off, and it read 6:55. I could have slept another five minutes... she thought as she stood up and walked over to her dresser. Slipping on a black mini skirt, long white stockings, black shoes, and a teal shirt. Moving to her bathroom she did her hair up in to side buns and clipped her teal hair pieces in that draped down to her shoulders.
Satisfied with her look, Kayla took in a deep breath as she walked out the front door, looking back for the last time for awhile at her house. Not that she ever had company or attached herself to her family, so leaving wasn't too much of a pain. Kayla grabbed her bike from the side of her house, hopped on and began to bike into town to see Professor Oak.
Coming up the the lab, she grinned, ready to receive her first pokemon and start her journey. She and her pokemon would be inseparable, she just knew it. It would more than likely be her first real friend she would ever make. And so she stood her bike up next to the tree outside and found her way inside the lab. "Hello? Anyone here?" Scanning the room she noticed pokeballs in one of the rooms all lined up on shelves. Thinking those were pokemon trainers had caught and stored in the pokemon center with Professor Oak, she thought of her journey and how many pokemon she would catch. But as she continued to look around, she didn't hear anyone yet. "Hello? I'm here for my first pokemon." She called out again, hoping to see the professor.
A sleepy eyed Professor Oak came out of the other room, rubbing his bleary eyes at the same time as putting on his lab coat. "What's all the ruckus?" he asked and saw the new trainer. "Oh, I suppose you're Kayla? You wanted Squirtle right?" He picked up the Pokeball that held the water Pokemon in it and gave it to the girl. "Here you go, take good care of it!" he told her. He gave her five Pokeballs and sent her on her way, eager to get back to his own beauty sleep.
Steven Thomson - September 6, 2010 03:07 AM (GMT)
Steven enters the lab. “Hey, I’m back. Sorry to intrude, I just need to heal up my Pokémon real quick okay?”Steven heads to the healing machine and places his two Pokeballs into two of the slots. They are fully healed in second. “Cool, thanks Professor. Hopefully this’ll be the last you have to see of me.” Steven says as he exits the lab.
(move to route 1)
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 02:42 AM (GMT)
Cody walked in, Rattata at his side as he searched for the Professor. "Professor Oak!" He called, eying the parcel and wondering what it was for. "Professor!" He called once more, before moving his spare hand to the opening, wondering what was inside...
Amy Pennington - September 7, 2010 02:52 AM (GMT)
Professor Oak came out of the back room, holding a Pokeball. "Yes?" he replied. "Yes, what is it?" He looked around, spotting Cody. "Cody? I figured you would be half way to Pewter City by now," he said, somewhat confused.
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 02:54 AM (GMT)
Cody jolted up, his hand away from the opening. He held it out for the Professor, shrugging. Rattata had jumped, too. "The dude from the shop said you needed this, and I was the first one there, so I figured I'd be faster than everyone else anyways.
Amy Pennington - September 7, 2010 03:53 AM (GMT)
Professor Oak looked confused for a moment, then took the package and opened it. "Ah! Yes, this must be my shipment of Pokedexes!" He looked around. "But ... where's the rest?" he asked. He shrugged. "Oh well. I have a little job for you," he said, giving Cody the Pokedex. "This is yours to keep. It will tell you all you need to know about the Pokemon you meet, and in return, it helps me with my research. All I ask is that you catch as many Pokemon as you possibly can to fill this Pokedex up," he said, smiling at Cody.
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 03:56 AM (GMT)
Cody smiled, nodding. He took a look at it, looking for the on switch. When he found it, the red machine started speaking to him. "Bites anything when it attacks. Small and very quick, it is a common sight in many places." Cody, a bit freaked out, looks up at Professor Oak. Rattata tilts his head, looking straight at the red object.
Amy Pennington - September 7, 2010 04:17 AM (GMT)
Professor Oak smiled. "It's reading the data on your Rattata," he explained. "If you hold this part up to a Pokemon," he pointed at the little 'eye' part of the Pokedex, "it will read you the data on that Pokemon."
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 04:21 AM (GMT)
Cody nodded, "So I don't have to catch every pokemon, just encounter them?" He said, pulling out Kobalt's pokeball, releasing him. "After birth, its back swells and hardens into a shell. Powerfully sprays foam from its mouth."
Amy Pennington - September 7, 2010 04:47 AM (GMT)
Professor Oak shrugged. "Well, it helps us collect more data when you catch them," he said, hopefully. "The more data we collect, the more it helps us to understand Pokemon." He shrugged again, looking at Cody hopefully.
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 11:20 AM (GMT)
(( I'd misread what he said, so I acted differently. I deleted the posts and put the normal response :P Sorry ))
Cody nodded, a bit upset. It was easier to battle them than it was to catch them, especially the rarer ones. "Alright, you can count on me!" He said, ready to move onward. He pocketed the device and made his way to Route 1.
Amy Pennington - September 7, 2010 02:48 PM (GMT)
Professor Oak smiled, relieved. He watched the boy leave and then turned back to go inside when this time a girl showed up.
Amy was so tired of traveling back and forth on Route 1, she thought she might just run through it when she had to go through it again. There was only so much a person could take of Pidgey and Rattata!! And she'd taken enough. "Professor, I have something for you," she said, taking out the parcel that she had been assigned to bring to him. She sounded a bit out of breath, as since she was so eager to be off Route 1, she'd started running to get to the lab once it was in sight.
"The shop owner in Viridian City told me to deliver this to you. I don't know what it is, but it feels important," she explained. "Do you mind if I heal my Pokemon while I'm here?" she asked suddenly, changing the subject.
Cristina Amaranta - September 7, 2010 09:11 PM (GMT)
Cristina entered in a building that according to the information people gave her, it was the laboratory where she was supposed to get a Pokemon, she was still unsure if she should or shouldn't get a Pokemon, but she wanted to try her luck into finding what happened to her parents.
Cristina entered slowly, she didn't want to call attention to her presence. She took a long look to the environment surrounding her, looking at the place a million things went through her mind, but only stayed 'Who should I talk to?!' she asked to herself as she walked a little further.
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 10:25 PM (GMT)
Professor Oak spun around, having just thrown away the remains of the previous package. As he saw Amy walk in, he was wondering what had happened. 'What, they just send the damned things in one by one?' Either way, the Professor greeted her. He took the package, opening it. "This is a Pokedex," he said, having already known from the last boy. "When you catch a pokemon, the pokedex learns more about it, and then tracks it. Release your pokemon and you'll see what I mean."
The Professor then nodded, towards the healing chamber as he made his way to the other girl, three pokeballs in hand. "Yes, little girl?" he asked, though knowing full well what she was probably there for.
Cristina Amaranta - September 7, 2010 11:16 PM (GMT)
Cristina took another look, now at the people in the room, she still didn't know with who to talk with. Cristina walked a little further, still silent, refusing to call attention to herself. When she saw a man coming towards her, she felt tempted to walk away, although something told her not to.
When the man spoke she pointed at herself "Me?!" she asked in a low tone of voice that was fairly hard to hear but Cristina didn't repeat it louder, she kept waiting for the man's answer as she looked at him in a weird and irritating way, but she didn't know what else to do except staying there staring.
Cody Ryan - September 7, 2010 11:58 PM (GMT)
Professor Oak chuckled a bit as he gleamed into the girl's eyes. Such a shy person, he thought. He nodded, however. "Yes, you." Her voice was just high enough for him to hear her, however, he was used to shy pokemon. Shy children, he could handle. They didn't spit fire or spew water at him and then try to run away. Hopefully, atleast.
Rinee Magicko - September 8, 2010 02:46 AM (GMT)
Rin huffed as she finally made her way into the lab.
"Hello?" She called, looking around for the Pokemon Professor. She ran a hand through her long blonde hair puzzled as to where he was.
"My name is Rinee Magicko," She tried once again, "I'm looking to get my first Pokemon?"
She blushed as she saved herself from tripping over her own feet, and continued to search for the Professor.
Amy Pennington - September 8, 2010 03:25 AM (GMT)
Amy nodded and accepted the Pokedex. "So just catch lots of Pokemon and it'll tell me about them?" she asked. She went over to the healing machine, deciding it would be quite unfair of her to release her Pokemon to check out this new gadget before she even healed them. They deserved that courtesy first. She placed her Pokeballs on the machine and healed them, then she took out Raza's Pokeball and released her.
"Hey Raza, no battles. Just wanna try this thing out. Stand still," she said. She pointed the Pokedex at Raza and the thing immediately came to life, so to speak. "Bulbasaur. A strange seed was planted on its back at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with this Pokemon."
Amy shrugged at Raza. "Well I guess that's useful?" she asked. For Amy, learning more about her Pokemon meant spending time with them however. Not using some machine. Oh well, she would use it anyway, for Professor Oak. She called Raza back to her Pokeball and as she left, she waved goodbye to Professor Oak, noticing the two new girls who had come into the lab, presumably looking for their first Pokemon.
Professor Oak looked up as yet another girl walked into his lab. "Ah, Rin, isn't it? I was expecting you." He turned to the shy girl. "I suppose you're here for the same reason?" he asked. "To get your first Pokemon as well?" He took the three Pokeballs in his hand and released them one by one. "These are the three Pokemon you have to choose from. Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander. Respectively, a water Pokemon, a grass Pokemon or a fire Pokemon. Choose wisely. This will be your partner for many days yet to come," he told the two girls.
Leon Anderson - September 8, 2010 10:44 AM (GMT)
"Professor? Professor Oak?" Leon called out as he strolled into the Laboratory once again, Shades still following close behind- sunglasses still on, of course, despite the fact that the two of them were indoors. He walked through the building in search of the Professor, digging through his backpack as he looked. Though his attention was divided between keeping an eye out for Professor Oak and rummaging through his horribly disorganized bag, Leon accomplished both of his designated tasks before long. The Professor, however, still seemed to be busy with new recruits looking to start their Pokemon Journeys. It must have been an awfully busy day for the guy, though Leon was a bit busy, himself. "Sorry to interrupt you, Professor," he began, approaching the world-famous researcher and extending his arms to show what he held in his hands, "but the guy at the PokeMart said this thing was for you. Dunno what's inside, but he didn't seem to mind having some random twelve year old deliver it." He grinned.
