You know, the outcome picture of the render doesn't look much different from the beginning one.
One tactic I find very well useful to use when actually making a render look nice to stick to the overall sig...
Duplicate. Gaussion blur 4.0, set to overlay. Congratulations! (Works on sigs)
To lighten it: (Also blur the heck out of it according to some people...) Gaussion blur 4.0, set to lighten. Duplicate, overlay.
