Title: F1 Help!

JBlokeUK - April 4, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Right lads, i was wondering if anyone has any hints n tips for this game as im struggling to get into it, online especially...

I have the breaking assist off which suits me as it allows me to push the car through certain corners and have more overall control when i want to brake. I've recently had the steering assist off, now when i had this on i found it better but i would like to master it better with it off.

Is it just a case of practice, practice, practice? Im fairly new to F1 games so i suppose this was expected but need a bit of help so i can enjoy this more :'(

I also find overtaking very hard when damage is on as one bump in the back of the car your trying to overtake and your out the race, realistic, yes, but bloody hard :'(

Help!

Ive been playing F1 games since 05 now and the best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice. I recommend turning all the assists off as they slow you down a lot. I use TC, and Stability control and that's enough.

Do you use the virtual race line, if you follow it the online you will get beat that line is the ultimate safe way round the course its no were near competitive. BTA markers are a bit better if you want to try them.

Make sure you do all your braking before the corner but if you are running wide then get off the throttle and brake as long as you aren't turning or you'll spin.

You have to just get to know the tracks where the corners are where to break, where to turn in and find a line that suits you but in general come at the corner from the opposite side and sweep in.

Damage is very difficult in F1 I struggle a lot to avoid damage, the best thing to do is make sure you can complete the move cleanly and not leave your back end in the corner while pointing the nose out across someones car.

What view do you use? IMO you have to use the in car view or TV camera so you can see the nose of the car, if you cant then you have no chance, as the nose of the F1 car determines all its cornering.

You need to break then turn and put your foot down out of the apex.
Like AK said you just need to know every bend and when to break.
They are hard games though and you need to be really good at them to get that smile when playing or it just turns to frustration.

My advise??? Trade it for Splinter Cell. :XD: :XD: :XD: :XD:

Cheers lads, im now using BTA markers but with steering and braking assist off. Those BTA markers have made the world of difference and this game is now more rewarding because of them :D
