Title: Motorstorm Buddy Patch. :-)
Krisaim - March 22, 2007 09:23 AM (GMT)
Great news. :D All sorted for Friday night. :D Make sure you get added.
http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/774/774900p1.htmlUS, March 21, 2007 - Though Evolution Studios' off-road racer MotorStorm has only been out for a couple of weeks, there are already plans to make additions to it. Starting Friday, March 23, Sony will release a brand new in-game Buddy List to coincide with the European launch date.
The list itself will be available as a downloadable patch that's activated automatically when users log in (followed by a quick reboot). Once installed, the update will add a "Buddies" line to the boot screen located underneath the "Play" icon. Your online friends and their current status will be viewable from this hub, and if your friends are online, they can be directly linked through the MotorStorm list.
Causing accidents like these with your friends should be a little easier.Sony has also confirmed that the Buddy List has a built-in filter that prevents people from infiltrating a set game list -- users will need to be connected to a buddy to get in.

Bit like the way Ridge Racer 7 works then?

Ok my UK copies of RFOM and Motorstorm arrived this morning, I have a Hong Kong machine.
Firstly put in Motorstorm, loaded up fine, went to the online option and it said an update was available, downloaded that and it asks you to reboot your PS3.
On rebooting went to the load the game and got an error message 80010009? This happened every time, deleted the update and the game worked fine again. So basically Motorstorm works fine but if you download the online update, it comes up with that error. If you don't download the update though you can't play online. Ihave both a UK and HK PSN account and tried both with the same results.
Anyone got any theories on this error message after the online update? |
Fingers crossed the 1.60 update will sort this out (like JBloke said about Tekken DR).
I'll be picking up Motorstorm tomorrow, so hopefully see you online over the weekend!

Oh no.??
I hope it is sorted after the firmware. Sure that's the same number JB got.??
Sony told us at the show thing that it's a worldwide server??
Doc did he say anything about Resistance??
Doc post this number on the forum for him.
01928 570 400
It's Evo's number.

Next RFOM, again the game loads up fine,no worries there. Go to the Multiplayer option however and it says 'Network Connection Failed, Disconnecting From Network'?
Now is this because of the system lock that is in place for multiplayer on this game? Is it because the EU servers aren't up and running till Friday? Will it work as of May when they release the patch?
Again anyone with any theories?
I'm also wondering if the firmware update due Friday (1.6) will have any affect on these issues.
So to clarify, UK games will work on your Import PS3, however be aware of the issues above. |
Rest of Post HEREI'm really hoping it's because the servers aren't live yet (midnight tonight??)

I expected the FOM thing, but it maybe sorted with the 1.6.
I will stick my neck out and say I think MS will be fine after his 1.6 update like JB. If it was just the online thing then fair enough but for the game not to start at all then it's not an online thing like Tekken did and then it was fine after the update.??
Hope so.
Ask him if it's sorted after the 1.6 Doc please.
I'm going to a midnight launch so I'll get MS later.

Hi guys, good news, after installing the new firmwar 1.6, I tried Motorstorm (UK version) again on my HK Ps3.
Loaded up fine as before, went to the online bit and before it asked me for an update, it was already displaying options for EU and Aussie servers. Anyway d/l thw update and it asked me to reboot as before, this is when t went tits up last time.
Anyway it rebooted fine and loaded the game, went to online and all the EU servers were there.
So it seems like UK games will work fine on Import machines. Resistance is the only game so far locked to console region and not game region.
Hope this helps. |
YE HAAAAAAAAAAA!
Thank the christ for that... now just ROM to sort out...

I use 'Super' (it's free).
Seems to convert anything to anything....
I've converted quite a few of my dvds as well as a few of the Quicktime HD trailers.
