  1. Thou shalt not god-mode. Controlling someone else's character without their permission is simply unacceptable. Subsequently, killing someone else's character should be unheard of, unless of course you have the RPer's and admin's approval. Please be aware of the fact that if one character dies, it will affect many other characters and perhaps the whole entire plot.
  2. Remember this RPG and keep it active. It's understood that real life happens but activity is vital to keeping an RPG open. So before you join, please consider how many other RPGs you're in and what you can handle. A post or two every week or so will be expected of you. When you know you will be away for a long period of time, do enlighten us in the OOC forums. If you have not posted a Leave of Abscence and you have not posted within three weeks, you are at risk of deletion. After a month, you will get an email warning and after two months you will be deleted.
  3. Honor thy merit.Play within the boundaries of your character. Albeit, the characters in the Artemis Fowl books do have their supreme strengths they have their own boundaries as well, be it moral, physical, financial or mental limits. With the exception of mary sues (which are not allowed on this board), stick-thin, pampered teenage girls are no match for someone with the stature of Butler. Likewise, poor peasants usually don't drive nice sports cars. I'm not saying that those two examples are impossible but for things like that to happen there has to be a good reason.
  4. Thou must know the "third-person, past-tense". As the admirable Theresa of Chapter Thirteen put it: If you dont know what that means, this RP is not for you. To expand on your knowledge of English, decent spelling & grammar is important as well as a minimum of three juicy paragraphs (excluding dialogue from the other character) that are roughly 10-15 lines long (more is better though) is expected for each post. This is an ADVANCED RPG, so don't complain.
  5. Thou shalt not rely on images to tell thy story. This is not a comic book and hopefully, if you made it further than the application process, you should have a little imagination too. Instead of showing it to us, paint it for us with words. You may add images to further enhnace what you wrote, but never the other way around.
  6. Thou shalt not steal. In other words, I'm talking about plagiarism. There is sharp line between referencing and stealing someone else's work. If anyone is caught doing this terrible act, they will be banned.
  7. Thou shalt not coalesce their character's relations with their own. This one is probably on every RPG ever but its very important: Keep IC conflicts IC please. If you must have a personal argument with someone, take it to the PMs. Mature and interesting debate is welcome, though.
And so, those are the seven commandments of Or de Fae. However, there are a few more things that must be brought to your attention!

AVATARS & SIGNATURES
  • for all human characters, your playby must be a "real-person" (any model, celebrity, etc will do)
  • for fairies and other humanoids, you may use "real-people" too but please try to find someone dressed up like fairy or whatever. Fairies are not so much of a problem as they closely resemble humands anyhow but for centaurs, you may want to use something from Harry Potter or something.
  • size limit: 170x200 for avatars and 400x180 for signatures
OBSCENETIES
  • the general rating of this RPG is 15 (BBFC rating) meaning that brief nudity, references to sex, swearing, drug use, etc will be tolerated.
  • do not riddle your posts with swearing just because you can
  • sex is alright just as long as you give everyone some warning in the title or in the very beginning of the thread. I don't really see where sex is so necessary but anything can happen
  • no smut
OTHER
  • plot away! just remember that spontaneity is fun too!
