Personally i'm not democrat or republican, however I don't think the republicans have a chance.

They are simply way too unpopular, that and they really don't have any strong candidates.

They've got Mit Romney, how many republicans do you know who will vote for a mormon? Not many, he's not gonna make it past the primaries.

Or Guiliani? No LOL, he's way too liberal to get past the republican primaries.

Only other frontrunner is John Mccain, and he wants to keep us in Iraq indefinitely, that is definitely not going to make him popular with the voters. It doesn't look good for republicans when their strongest candidate, the one most likely to win the primaries, out of their three frontrunners, wants to keep us in Iraq.

Who else do the republicans have, Ron Paul? Who has been accused of racist statements? (really gonna hurt him bad there)

And even if they did have a better candidate, support for republicans is really low right now, all the democrats have to do is say they are going to pull out of Iraq and they've got the election (even if they don't keep their word)

I'm pretty sure whoever wins the democrat primaries is going to win the election, so who are their frontrunners?

John Edwards, Kerry's running-mate, he's got no charisma and no one really likes him, I doubt he really has much of a chance. The only way he would get in is if the people of the US are not willing to vote for Hilary or Obama because of their gender or ethnicity, I really hope the US is better than that though, because I think Edwards would be a terrible president.

Then we have Obama, idealistic, smart, wants to make a difference in the world, popular with alot of people, and would certainly be my choice... however, I don't think he will make it in. Mainly because he IS idealistic, and he is also young, alot of people are not going to vote for him just because he's young and doesn't yet have that much experience.

Then of course, the obvious choice, Hilary Clinton. She may not have much charisma, but Bill sure does, and he is still VERY popular, she has ALOT of support, the only thing that might not get her in is the fact that she is a woman, some people might not vote for her for that reason. It would be rather ridiculous if they didn't vote for her based on her gender, but it's possible. Still, those same people would know they would basically be giving Bill another term in office, because THEY were the president last time, and will be again if she is elected, and as I said Bill has alot of support.

Personally my prediction is John Mcain vs Bilary, err, I mean Hilary Clinton, with Hilary Clinton winning the election, and lots of very heated, very intense, heavily televised debates. I think it would be very intertaining to see those two going at it.

Anyway, post your predictions, please give good, well thought out reasons and explanations, and debate me if you please, this is, after all, the debate forum.

That really is the big question, is the US ready for a black or woman president.

I still think whoever wins the democratic primaries has this but... could it end up Edwards, or some other wildcard?

Hilary seems likely simply because, even though she is a woman, alot of people will be voting for her because they feel like they are voting for Bill again, which gives her a chance.

If not her, I have no idea who will win the democrat primaries, I mean, the people who wouldn't vote for Hilary for that reason, would also not vote for Obama, and Edwards doesn't really have charisma.

I haven't really seen any other strong democrat candidates, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah but come on dude we know bill will have alot of influence on hilary if she wins I mean influence as if running the country wise not popularity wise because hilary has only gotten this far because of bills popularity and he is a genius when it comes to election campiagn fund raising.

I am a democrat (IN TEXAS, OMFG?!?!?!), but I do not support Hillary Clinton. She wants to remain in Iraq, where I view it as a mass U.S. soldier killing spree.

Therefore I support Obama. He actually knows what he's talking about, unlike Guiliani (a flip-flopper), McCain (Bush 2.0), Romney ("HEY GUYS! I'M MORMON! VOTE ME!"), or Edwards (the ugly duckling).

He also wants to pull soldiers out of Iraq in a safe way. I don't trust anyone else, as other candidates just mention it as if they're going to yank out everyone at once (which will obviously lead to disaster).

We need someone to fix the shit that Bush caused.

Obama is the only way.

I don't get into presidential races until the primaries become important....

But if asked right now, I'd go with Obama, 'cause he seems to know wtf he's talking about. Of course, just because I'd vote for him in the year before the actual election doesn't mean anything.

It's not that I don't want Obama to win, in fact he IS who I want to win. just think that Hilary Clinton has this, because Bilary has charisma, and lots of support. Also Obama is black, and I'm not sure America is ready for that. I'm not sure they are ready for a woman president either, but if they vote for Hilary they aren't just voting for her, they are voting for Bill as well.

you have to consider everything dn. clinton and obama will be hardpressed to take the south, esp after the bush days. most republicans down there are still republicans. clinton, unless she fundraises like obama does (lolno), is going to have significantly less money because her fundraisers were big spenders and will soon be, if not already, maxed out. obama's black. as much as i'd like to say america's past this, it's not, and i seriously doubt (but hope the opposite) that the american people will vote obama into office, esp w/ the name Barack Obama. guiliani will probably win if he doesnt get exposed as a fraud en-masse, as a lot of people don't like clinton at all and she's going to be unable to fundraise like obama (already can't) can.

I think America should just be run by this giant dictatorship so no one can spout shit like "I have the right to ____" all the fucking time.

But isn't that what makes America a superpower?

You have to take the slaveowner approach to a country (that sounds weird...) in that you're only as strong as your weakest man.

Since American individuals are allowed to say "I have a right to _____," it strengthens them. America breeds hope, or at least tries to. Imma pull up some statistics:

In 2000, a poll in France was taken where the posing question was: How do you view America? (More than one answer is allowed):

1. A nation of violence 50%
2. A nation that uses the death penalty 48%
3. A nation of great social inequality 45%
4. A nation of innovation 37%
5. A racist nation 33%
6. A nation where anything goes 27%
7. A nation where anyone can get rich 24%
8. A nation that welcomes immigrants 15%
9. A society where religion is pervasive 15%
10. No opinion 3%

This shows that even other countries view America as this way. What's the point of destroying it? Hence, why I chose to support Obama.

Our nation's number 1 problem right now is the war. Unnecessarily being there is putting a strain on morale and trust in our president (what little he had). The war should take priority over immigrants because as we are a military superpower (the EU's economy FAR surpasses America's) we need to act like one, and make smart decisions, and not needlessly kill our troops.

As for immigration issues, I'm still uncertain. Albeit, they may be ruining our economy and taking advantage of hospitality, but they're still human souls. They should be required to get citizenship within a set amount of time (1~2 months) before they will be deported.

Just my views.

Yeah, it's really annoying and gets taken out of context every time. The other day I was asking this guy why he was downloading licensed anime and he said "it's my right to download this because I'm American". It's so fucking retarded and annoying and I wish they could give a better reason as to why they're doing something they clearly shouldn't be doing. It's kinda like the blanket answer; instead of like "I'll get back to you later" or "I can't disclose that information" it's instead "It's my right as an American".

Right, because that has proved SO EFFECTIVE in the past.
