Summary-

This is a story with the story line of Roswell. Nathan, Brooke and Peyton are all aliens trying to fit in. What meets the eye are three normal, popular teenagers who rule the school. No one knows who they are, what they can do or where they are from. Not even their foster parents. Lucas and Jake work at the Café for his mom. He, Jake and Haley are best friends since kindergarten. They aren’t really friends with Brooke, Nathan and Peyton. One day something horrible at the café causes them all to come closer. Together they bond together to get through life’s challenges and trying to keep the aliens safe from the secret service hunting them.

Couplings- Peyton/Lucas Nathan/Haley & Brooke/Jake.

Chapter 1


I may be uninspiring, but I'll be damned if I'm an alien!

“Is there a reason we are still here” whined Brooke as she looked down at her perfectly manicured nails.

“I am still eating and besides I am the working one here give me a break” said Nathan stuffing more food into his mouth. Besides being a basketball player he also wokred as a helper at Dan Scott Motors

“It’s hard to believe that you two are related” said Peyton shaking her head

“We might be related P Sawyer but we are all connected and belong somewhere” said Brooke pointing upwards. She and Peyton her sister were Tree Hill's most gorgeous girls. They were co capitans of the Tree Hill Ravens cheer squad.

“Keep your talking about that down” said Nathan hissing. “The guys from the team are right over there”

“This coffee is freezing!” said Peyton putting her hand over it and instantly warming it.

Brooke laughed when she saw Nathan face.

“You two are impossible!” said Nathan pouring more Tabasco on to his spaghetti. “Don’t forget my amazing game wining point only an hour ago!”

“True it was awesome! You only think we are impossible because you are jealous that you can’t control your powers and we being awesome and gorgeous can” said Peyton putting her arm around Brooke and squeezing. Brooke stuck out her tongue.

“I really wish that their was a fourth alien. Maybe another guy so I wouldn’t always be wrong” said Nathan.

“Aw we still adore you little brother” said Brooke.

“By like five minutes” said Nathan.

“We I am older by seven” said Peyton with a giggle. “But hurry up we have that after the game basketball party to go to. We can’t let anyone get suspicious.”

“You sound like a mother.” Said Brooke putting her hand over her nails changing the color of them from blue and white to red

“And believe me with Brooke and my mom I have enough” said Nathan. “So after the party we going up to the abandon solider’s station to look around? Maybe try and search for another clue. Maybe another communicator?”

“Can I get you anything else?” asked Lucas. This was the table he dreaded serving. These three where the Tree Hill High elite. He was one of the Tree Hill High loners. He was on the basketball team as was Jake who also worked at the café but they were not popular.

“No but you can go get a life” joked Nathan and Brooke laughed. Peyton just shook her head and watched him walk away defeated.

“What was that?” asked Peyton to Nathan kicking him under the table.

“Ow! Peyton we are trying to keep up appearances. I am supposed to be a mean dumb popular jock that is what I did” said Nathan.

“Yeah why are you so touchy? These people would never understand us. They worship us but don’t understand what we go through. That we actually fight to fit in too. So why feel sorry for them when every day is a constant battle for us” said Brooke

“Exactly. Let them live their weird feel sorry for us loner lives and let us survive and keep alive another day. You know just as well as I do that the alien hunter from the FBI was sent to town to investigate all the weird happenings. We cannot change a bit! They can’t think we are aliens not one bit! I am not losing you two, It might not seem like it but I care way too much. You’re all I have” said Nathan looking around to make sure the café didn’t hear.

Peyton felt guilty for setting him off. She knew all of their lives were hard but his was the hardest.

Peyton and Brooke had been adopted together at an early age right after they had been dropped off at the orphanage. Nathan on the other hand had waited a long time to be adopted but it never happened. He was finally at sixteen given money by the government to live on his own. Although he never experience what it was like to have a real family like Brooke and Peyton.

They were adopted by a rich and caring family who loved them so much. They had everything and more. Happy Christmases and Birthdays. Sure Nathan wasn’t their real brother but they still called him that to make him feel wanted and needed. You would never tell from first glance what he or Brooke and Peyton had been from.

“So what do you think they are talking about?” asked Haley sitting in front of the counter watching Jake washing down the counters and Lucas taking the muffins out of the oven and putting them in the display case.

“I went over there and they were talking about themselves” said Lucas chuckling.

“Shocker!” laughed Jake. He, Lucas and Haley had been friends forever and had been so close for so long. They knew everything about each other. It was them against the world. They knew Jake was a single teen father. His daughter was gorgeous six month old baby.

Haley was a tutor at the school and saw the best in every one. She came from a huge family and felt like Lucas and Jake needed her more. Plus she got more attention form them and they didn’t expect her to be totally perfect. And Lucas well he was an open book. He always surprised you.

One day he was Broody the next he couldn’t have a care in the world. His mom was married to Andy Hargrove and they lived most of the time in New Zealand. So he was a full time fixture at Haley’s and Jake’s. Which as fine with Jake because Lucas was great with Jenny.

“Why are you so interested in them anyways Haley?” asked Jake starting inventory.

“I am not it’s just” said Haley trailing off.

“Please don’t tell me your into that… him” said Lucas. “You are like my little sister Hales I don’t want you to go out with him and get hurt or change yourself”

“Oh please like you don’t check out Blondie all the time Luke” said Jake smirking.

“Hey you totally lust after cheery over their!” said Haley giggling.

“Please we could do so much better and so could they” said Lucas handing a customer their change.

“Mr. Downer over their” said Jake. “We are out of sugar Hales can you go pick us up some?”

“Yes master” laughed Haley grabbing the twenty from his hands. “Be good”

As she walked out of the café a man in a suit walked in. “Dude you go take his order” said Jake flipping through a sports magazine.

“What? What are you doing?” asked Lucas pretending to be mad.

“Waiting for the sugar” said Jake with a grin. Lucas shook his head and grabbed a pad of paper and walked past the popular table.

Peyton rolled her eyes to fit in. “So what are you wearing tonight?” asked Brooke in valley voice. It was what they always did when they were talking about something big and a person walked by.

Lucas walked over to the table and the suited man stood up and pointed his gun.

“Woa” said Lucas putting up his hands and backing up. He pulled the trigger and sent the bullet right into Lucas close to his rib cage. He dropped to the floor

“Luke!” shouted Jake running over.

“We have to go now!” said Brooke feeling the man was a little familiar. Nathan was right after her but Peyton wasn’t.

“I have to heal him” whispered Peyton.

“What!” hissed Nathan. “That is really deep! You can’t!! This is broad day light there is tons of people around!”

Peyton ran over. Jake was frantically dialing 911. Peyton ripped open his shirt and put her hand over his chest. It took a few minutes but finally it healed and Lucas stirred.

“Nate pass me the floor coloring over there” whispered Peyton. Nathan was mad Peyton was doing this but he couldn’t change it now and passed it to her. She dropped it all over Lucas.

“You saw nothing” whispered Peyton. “It was all an accident”

She stood up and Nathan pulled her out.

Haley ran in and saw Lucas on the floor.

“What the heck happened? I heard a gun shot! I was so scared!” said Haley hugging Lucas tightly. Jake helped him up.

“I am fine” said Lucas dazed.

At that moment the sheriff of the town walked in. This was the same sheriff who was suspicious of the three aliens. “Well, well what happened here?”

“Uh just a fight with the food coloring. It won” laughed Haley trying to help cover up what happened even though she was confused.

“I heard a gun shot and saw the tree hill’s finest bolt” said the sheriff like he knew everything.

“These lids sound like that and it sprayed on them. They are all about appearances they had to go cleaned up pronto” said Jake

He looked over at Lucas. “You are out of it why?” asked the sheriff

“Uh I didn’t sleep much and it was pretty surprising that old lid” said Lucas trying to snap out of it

“Well if you remember anything important you call me” said the sheriff exiting the café but turned around. “I will see you later I expect Miss James for dinner?”

“Uh yeah” said Haley blushing. She was going out with the sheriff’s son Tim.

“Let’s get this place cleaned up” said Haley.

Lucas looked down at his rib cage where the bullet had entered. What had Peyton done? All he knew was that she saved him and he was grateful.

“Earth to Lucas? Are you even here” asked Jake

“Yeah here where I belong” said Lucas with a forced chuckle. He didn’t feel this was the right time to tell them what he saw. The strange flashes he had when Peyton was hunched over him.

“Sugar?” asked Jake wanting to refill the canister

“Aren’t I sweet enough?” asked Haley

“What were you thinking?” yelled Brooke to her sister as they entered Nathan’s small apartment. It was safe to talk here rather then at their house since their was maids and their parents who loved being hands on in their lives.

“I had this flash It told me I had to” said Peyton

“Sure you did” said Nathan getting a glass of water. “We all believe you. You are in to him and were willing to risk us for him?”

“I was not!! It’s over!! He didn’t see anything and everyone else things the shot was the lid of the food coloring. I would never un mask us! How dare you say I would” yelled Peyton

“Okay we are sorry!” said Brooke trying to break up the fight. “It’s over and they don’t know anything. The sheriff is clueless still. Now I need to get to dinner so then I can find myself a guy”

They were at the café so Nathan could have dinner not by himself. They did it all the time and then the girls headed home to eat with their parents.

“I am not going to the party. I am heading to the deserted solider base” said Nathan

“We agreed to go tomorrow!!” said Peyton. “And technically I am the leader due to age and powers so listen to me when I say tomorrow. I don’t want to lose you either. Nate you mean the world to me! So why are we fighting all the time?” Peyton was tearing up.

Brooke put her arm around her.

“Whatever” said Nathan sitting on his couch. “Tomorrow it is”

“Good!” squealed Brooke. “Love ya! Tonight party?”

“Fine” said Nathan. “And I love you both too”

Peyton smiled and hugged Nathan tightly.

“I want some love too!” said Brooke jumping on Nathan. They all laughed. The girls sauntered over to the door and shut it carefully. He would go to the party just not right away. He just had to go to the base for a bit. They would never know.

“So we just got a call from the army base a mile up hill they want a combo number four and a chocolate cake” said Jake. “Plus the little high school party wants three cakes.

“Can’t have dinner with the boy toy!” said Haley running out the door laughing. Lucas shook his head and laughed.

“You take the closer one and go home to Jenny. I will go to the army base” said Lucas. “It’s near the old one right?”

“Yeah it is. Thanks man. I have missed Jen all day! Later” said Jake hurrying out of the café with the three cakes.

He packed up the cake and the combo and locked up the café. He had no idea what would be happening later in to the night. But his day had already been a dream so nothing would be suprising to him anymore.


Oh what wonders awaited him and the rest of the gang tonight.

Awesome chapter! So Lucas is in the position that Liz was in in Roswell, and Peyton is like Max...intresting! I cannot wait to see what will happen later in the night. UD<soon!

Girl that was AMAZING, like you have to update. The plot is different form so many other stories, and that's only one of many reasons that I love it. Hey, I'm wonderin where Take A Gamble On Me, is. In the thread you said that it woudl be tomorrow for sure, and that was like 4 days ago, buy go ahead and take your time. Great writing takes time and I respect that. Chapter 2




Whatever is not commonly seen is condemned as alien.

Lucas drove the up the long empty road on his way back from dropping off the food. He was driving straight so he could turn around since it was a one way street.

Brook wandered around the party looking for Peyton. She was no where to be found.

Finally she came running up to Brooke. “My car is gone and I have a good idea as to who took it”

“He promised Pey!” whined Brooke mad at Nathan for never listening to them.

“Well if have to get there now! But we don’t have a car!” said Peyton sighing running her hand through her curly blonde locks.

She scanned the room but none of the popular squad was around for borrowing their cars.

“I have an idea!” squealed Brooke sauntering over to Jake and Haley.

Haley’s dinner had been awful and Jake’s parents had given him the night off since Jenny was sleeping soundly. They looked really bored.

“Hey” said Brooke seductively. “You see my friend is stuck in the middle of no where with my car so I was wondering could you give me a lift up there?” Brooke slowly sat down on his knee and grinned.

Haley chuckled and looked away. “These popular people wanted whatever they could get!”

Peyton watched her friend amused. Brooke was the one you could always never expect to be an alien. She didn’t want to be one either. She wanted a real boyfriend she could love and trust. But when you are like her you could trust no one.

“Fine” said Jake grinning at Brooke. “Do you know where no where is?”

“Follow me!” grinned Brooke back.

Jake watched her and Peyton start walking outside.

“Jake you are not leaving me here!! I am coming with!” said Haley grabbing her coat

“Fine but only because you are my best buddy” said Jake sighing. Haley clapped and giggled. They ran outside to follow Brooke to no where.

Lucas pulled in to the deserted army base and saw a familiar car. It was one he recognized to be Peyton Sawyer’s car. He had always had a crush on her. He looked around and saw the one and only Nathan Scott.

“What the heck is he doing out here?” asked Lucas to himself. As much as he wanted to follow him he knew to mind is own business.

Nathan walked around the base trying to find any clues. Nothing. He threw a rock in defeat. He looked around. Something caught his eye. Behind a bush was a man in a suit watching him intently but who probably thought Nathan couldn’t see him.

Nathan slowly turned his eyes all around and saw that behind all the bushes were these men. Where they following him? Where they from the FBI? He had to get out of here fast.

He back away but he felt arms snake around his waist form behind. “Your coming with us” hissed the man. Nathan struggled and licked. He managed to get away but he was surrounded. He was so far out from the main base that no one would ever no if he was kidnapped.

Why did he never listen to Peyton or Brooke. What if he exposed their secret. He saw a truck speed up and stop.

“Come on!” said the voice

Nathan had no idea who it was but got in anyway. The truck sped away as fast as it could.

Nathan looked over. It was that diner kid. The one Peyton liked. Larry?

“What are you doing following me?” asked Nathan harshly

“No I was delivering food to the other base and had to turn around I was just turning around in the field when I saw you surrounded. I didn’t think you mean’t for it to be like that” said Lucas.

“Whatever” said Nathan. “Mention this to anyone and you are a goner. You can drop me off at my jeep”

Lucas just nodded. Nathan looked over at him and saw something that surprised him but he knew what it was. His chest was glowing right where Peyton had healed him. The silver handprint must be there. Great going Peyton! Nathan was furious.

Lucas pulled up to Nathan’s jeep and saw the whole gang was there. Weirdly so was Jake and Haley.

“Luke?” asked Haley confused but ran over and hugged him.

“You idiot!” yelped Brooke hitting him.

“It’s no big deal!” said Nathan.

“We saw the FBI trucks” whispered Peyton. “We thought you were in there!”

“For trespassing?” asked Jake scared. “I hope they aren’t coming for me.

“Peyton I am fine. It’s not like you didn’t make a mistake too” said Nathan coldly nodding towards Lucas. Only Peyton and Brooke understood. Peyton put her hands over her face.

“Is something going on her?” asked Haley

“None of your buissness goody good” mused Nathan

“Like your all that hot shot” said Haley right back at him. She rolled her eyes.

“Look let’s just go now” said Jake smiling at Brooke and pulling Haley over to his car. But her and Nathan kept sending death glares to each other.

“That’s my cue to leave too” said Lucas starting to walk away.

“N o you have to stay here” said Peyton quietly. The other just stood their looking mad knowing this had to be done.

Brooke looked over to the road making sure the other two were gone.

“Meet us at Nathan’s apartment on elm street number six” said Peyton. “I need to see something”

Lucas was confused. “What did they want with him?”

Nathan started up the car and Brooke jumped into the back. Peyton got in to the passenger seat

They drove off in to the night leaving Lucas in his thoughts and alone.

Nathan stalked up the stairs and slammed his door.

“Thanks for holding it open” said Brooke angrily. She and Nathan were furious that Peyton was making them tell a mere stranger that they were aliens. He was sure to tell everyone.

Peyton slowly walked in. Nathan was pacing the room and Brooke was at the counter.

“Look I am sorry we have to do this but maybe this is for the best! He could help us it will be easier this way!” said Peyton.

“If that’s what you need to tell yourself Peyton but I highly doubt this will help anything.” Said Brooke

“We could get a better look at the handprint. We have only seen it a few times for a second” said Peyton.

There was a knock at the door.

Peyton walked over and answered the door. Lucas stood there looking nervous.

“Hey” she smiled. She opened the door and let him in.

“Take off your shirt” said Brooke not wanting to postpone anything.

“Uh what?” asked Lucas confused. What did they want him here. Brooke gave him a look so he just obliged.

He looked down at his chest and noticed the handprint for the first time. He was starting to freak out when he saw their expressions and they were more intrigued then anything else.

“Wow” said Brooke lightly touching the handprint causing it to glow even brighter.

“Take it off now Peyton” said Nathan with anger.

“Nathan! We need to look at it a while longer” said Peyton. “I am the leader here”

Lucas was seriously scared now. Leader? Handprints that glowed?

“I have to go” said Lucas grabbing his shirt and heading for the door. Nathan held up his hand and a white light blinded him.

“Nathan” hissed Brooke. This so wasn’t happening!

Lucas turned around. “What is this? What’s going on exactly?”

“Were um” said Peyton not knowing what to say.

“Not from around here” said Brooke trying to help her out.

“So where are you from?” asked Lucas in a whisper

They all looked at each other worried. It was now or never. They pointed up to the ceiling.

“Upstairs?” asked Lucas but then it hit him. “Oh” He started pacing. “So who else knows?”

“No one!” hissed Nathan he walked over to Lucas and pinned him to the wall. “You aren’t to tell anyone understand?”

“Yeah” whispered Lucas. All of a sudden they heard a bang outside and Brooke went outside. There on the ground was Haley and Jake.

“Great! Now the whole world knows!” she yelled.

“We won’t tell!” said Haley. “I guess you really know what it’s like not to fit in”

“More then you will ever know” said Peyton. “Get in here” Haley and Jake obliged. Soon everyone was on the couch.

Everyone was quiet. Lucas was staring at the glowing handprint on this chest where he had been shot hours earlier.

Amazing really.

“So now I have to trust my life in these bozo’s hands!” Nathan roared

“Excuse me!! I could help save your life!! I understand now about why you were worried about FBI! They are on to you!” said Haley

“I could also help in a weird sort of way” said Jake. “When my parents aren’t looking after my daughter they are working at the FBI”

“Great! Now a spy knows!” said Brooke.

“They work in the department below but I know that they think there are aliens living here. I always thought it was crazy but I guess not. They have files of the ones who they think are aliens. They also have some horrible test they would try out” said Jake

“Are you trying to comfort us” asked Peyton with worry

“No I am saying I have access to keys and an access card. We could sneak in their sometime and retrive your files” said Jake

“That’s not a bad idea” smiled Brooke. “Thanks”

Jake smiled back

“Enough of this gross love stuff” said Nathan gagging.

Sorry about him he is a jerk sometimes” said Peyton

“All the time actually” smirked Brooke.

Haley laughed and looked at her friend. Lucas had paled slightly and was looking like he was going to be sick.

“Luke are you okay?” asked Haley walking over to him.

“Yeah I think so” said Lucas. “Is this suppose to feel like it on fire?” As he pointed to the hand print.

“We don’t really no anything about where we are from or the things are powers can do” said Peyton looking down.

“Try to heal it” said Brooke as she saw he was getting paler.

Peyton walked over to him and placed her hand just above his chest. She held it there for a long time nothing was happening.

“Maybe it heals it self. Like he just has to ride it out until it disappears” said Jake

“This isn’t X-Files” deadpanned Nathan

“Where’s the bathroom?” whispered Lucas. Peyton pointed to the left. Lucas got up and ran.

“Great going goldilocks you exposed our secret to three people and made one of them sick with the powers we can hardly control” said Nathan

“We can control ours just fine” said Brooke

“Maybe you two should go home so your parents don’t worry and call his” said Peyton in a motherly tone.

“He lives at my house, parents aren’t around so its fine” said Jake

“Will he be okay here?” asked Haley worried

“No I am going to kill him with my powers and eat him for breakfast” said Nathan angrily

Haley stared at him with tears in her eyes and stormed out.

“Thanks Jake” whispered Brooke as he walked out the door.

“No problem” said Jake. “We are here with you now. In this together”

Brooke closed the door.

“Should we stay here tonight?” asked Brooke to her sister.

“Uh” said Peyton kind of wanting to be there for Lucas. “If Nathan wants us to”

“What can you two do that I can’t?” asked Nathan coldly. “Expose us? Make people sick?”

“Care” said Peyton. “Love”

“Feel compassion for people” said Brooke grabbing her purse. “My cell phone is on okay?” “I uh need to check something in the bathroom first”

Nathan looked confused. Peyton knew her sister all to well.

“She’s going through his wallet for a picture of Jake so she can dream walk and see if he is vibin’” smiled Peyton

“You two are crazy” said Nathan drinking a glass of milk.

“Back!” squealed Brooke. “Later!”

Peyton shook her head and followed her sister out. She turned back

“Watch him okay?” asked Peyton quietly

Nathan sighed. Once they were gone Nathan slowly walked into his bathroom.

Lucas was hunched into a ball on the floor.

“Are you okay?” asked Nathan

“Yeah I am. I’ll go now” said Lucas trying to stand up but falling.

“Alien powers are a different thing for humans completely” said Nathan. “It’s probably too much for you. You’re too weak. All humans are. You need to rest if you don’t want to die” deadpanned Nathan. Who suddenly realized he was horrible at comforting.

Lucas just nodded and sunk back on the floor resting his eyes. Nathan shut off the light and left the door open.


This had been the longest day ever. It had been dangerous for not only him but now the three others involved in this. His Life. Brooke’s Life. Peyton’s life. Those were the only ones that mattered. The only ones he could care about.

Awesome chapter! I loved it and the chapters just keep getting better and better. So now Jake, Haley, and Lucas know the truth. UD<soon!

I LOVE it!!! U're doing such a FANTASTIC job!! I have to say that Nathan may be rude & all....but I'm totally loving him. He's so dedicated to protecting the 3 of them. Plus I had to laugh when he was like, "this isn't the X-Files".

I can't wait to see what happens---I'm hoping u'll show Brooke dreamwalking. Anyways, now Lucas, Jake & Haley know. Can't wait to see what happens--UD SOON!!

Chapter 3





“Nathan open this door now!!” yelled Peyton pounding on Nathan’s front door.

Nathan groaned as he rolled out of bed and into the living room where the front door was.

“Peyton it’s like nine o’clock in the morning!” yelled Nathan who was still half asleep.

“Take a chill pill! I just wanted to check on Lucas” said Peyton trying to reason with him. “I wanted to make sure you didn’t kill him in his sleep”

“You’re so funny you know that” said Nathan closing the door behind her.

“You might want to keep that open since Brooke, Jake and Haley are headed over here with breakfast. I called a meeting” said Peyton walking into the bathroom. She quickly exited though. She was frantic.

“Nathan! Where is he? How did you let him leave!” roared Peyton

Nathan just shook his head. “Do you really think that I am that cold hearted that I made him sleep on the bathroom floor?”

“Yeah I do!! So where is he?” asked Peyton

“In the spare room, chill out” said Nathan grabbing a bowl and the Cheerio’s from the cupboard.

“Why is he in there?” said Peyton who’s cheeks were suddenly reddening

“ I am really a softie” joked Nathan. “That and the Helen girl would go crazy on me”

“It’s Haley and your right she would!” said Peyton. At that moment the spare bedroom door open and a very disheveled looking Lucas walked out.

“Lucas are you okay” asked Peyton with concern and worry evident in her voice

Nathan just snickered. “You are so fresh Peyt! Falling for an Earthy”

“Shut up” said Peyton with anger.

“Do you two fight twenty four seven? Because if you do I want out now” said Lucas searching around for his jacket.

“Well I never wanted you in” said Nathan annoyed

“I never asked to be healed by an alien and roped in to this! But guess what I was!!” said Lucas.

“This seems to be a happy morning” said Jake as he and Haley walked into the apartement

“Why are you so happy?” asked Lucas to Jake.

“Brooke was in his dreams like always but this time there was two of her!” laughed Haley to her two best friends. Nathan and Peyton looked at each other.

“She didn’t!” said Nathan covering his face with his hands

“Just a little harmless dream walking” said Peyton happy for her sister. Brooke was the crazier one. “So tell me about it?’

Jake blushed.

“Great! Inappropriate dreams about the girl who is basically my sister!” said Nathan. “This morning is just so beautiful!”

“Don’t listen to him! So dish!” said Peyton sitting down on the couch beside Haley and across from Jake.

“I should go clean your bathroom” said Lucas getting up. “Fill me in later Hales”

“I am going to watch he doesn’t steal or break anything!” said Nathan not wanting to hear the dream.

“Okay so” started Jake

***The Dream***

“So Brooke you are looking gorgeous today” said Jake walking up behind Brooke at her locker

“Aren’t I” giggled Brooke. “These powers are the bees knees”

“I think so too” said Jake leaning in closer.

Brooke slowly brought her mouth closer to him.

“I have wanted this for so long!” whispered Jake

“Not as long as I have” said Brooke snaking her arms around him

In the background Brooke lurked watching the whole scene play out.

“He thinks I am easy! What is this the fifties? Who says the bees knees?” asked Brooke shaking her head. “Although from here he is really good looking. Major potential. He also knows my secrets”

“No I can’t” thought Brooke quickly closing her eyes and returning to her bed room

***End of Dream walking***

”So not only did I get Brooke, I also got her watching me too!” said Jake

Peyton laughed. At that moment Brooke walked in to the appartement looking pale.

“Brooke whats wrong?” asked Peyton walking over

Nathan heard Peyton ask Brooke that from his place in the bathroom yelling orders to Lucas.

“What’s going on?” asked Nathan hurrying out with Lucas on his heels.

“The FBI were at our house” whispered Brooke. “They were watching me! I didn’t know they were!”

“So they didn’t see you do anything you know un-earthly did they?” asked Haley concerned

Brooke nodded. “They did. I was fixing my nails on the porch and I used them to keep the bugs away, the worst thing is though is that they had a camera”

“No way you have got to be kidding me!” said Nathan. “This is rich!” He clapped his hands. “Great performance Brooke! We are all dead now!”

“You don’t know that dude!” said Jake putting his hand on Brooke’s back

Nathan glared at him.

“Look before we have world war nine hundred I have a plan” said Lucas

“And what would that be?” asked Peyton who stopped pacing to listen to him.

“Well Jake has keys to the FBI office so we are breaking tonight and you three can destroy all evidence they have on you” said Lucas

They all looked at each other. The three aliens nodded to each other.

“Fine but if you get in to trouble it is not our fault” said Nathan

“I will go home to get the keys” said Jake. “I will be back in a while”

“I am coming with you” said Brooke who was mad at Nathan. Jake nodded glad that she wanted to go with him.

“Well I should go get Dad’s old car and change it’s color so we can have an car tonight that no one can trace” said Peyton. “Why don’t you come with me Lucas?”

“Yeah why not” said Lucas grabbing his coat.

“You are leaving me here with him!” whined Haley

“You aren’t exactly a ray of sunshine to hang out with yourself” jeered Nathan

“He isn’t that bad. He will hurry back” said Peyton. She followed Lucas out but turned back. “Play nice”

Nathan gave her a face and watched her slam the door.

“Don’t you ever clean up” asked Haley looking around at the filthy place.

“It adds character” said Nathan. Haley shook her head.

“I am not staying here with you” said Haley grabbing her purse.

“So where are you going?” asked Nathan slightly curious

“We are going to need flashlights and stuff tonight” said Haley

“Our powers glow and create enough light and we can melt metal to open or close any door” said Nathan triumphantly

Haley looked defeated. “So I am stuck here with an alien!”

Nathan smirked. “You should be flattered” Haley turned her back to him but when she turned around she was him on the floor shaking uncontrollably like he was freezing.


“Nathan?” asked Haley frightened. “What’s going on?” She had no idea how to help aliens. She grabbed a few blankets and covered him up. It didn’t help

She grabbed his phone and dialed Lucas.

“Hales?” asked Lucas. “You are giving up already?”

“Lucas you need to bring Peyton back fast!! Nathan is on the floor and he is really sick!” said Haley.

Lucas could hear the fear in her voice. “We will be right there”

He hung up. “You need to get back to the appartement” said Lucas

“Why?” asked Peyton enjoying her alone time with him

“Nathan dropped to the floor and is shaking. Haley can’t control him. He is cold but actually he is burning up” said Lucas explaining it to Peyton

“Quick drive to Brooke’s” said Peyton. “We will need her too”


Lucas and Peyton finally tracked down Jake and Brooke and managed to get back to Nathan’s in record time.

“Oh my god Nathan” said Brooke running over to the couch where he was laying down. He was shaking. She put her hand on his head.

“You are burning up” said Brooke fearfully.

“I don’t know how to help” said Haley

“It’s okay you have done great” said Peyton walking over to the couch. Jake and Lucas stayed back watching the girls run around tending to Nathan.

“This isn’t helping Peyton” said Brooke to her sister as Peyton tried to heal him

“I guess our last hope is going to see him” said Peyton grabbing her coat.

“Going to see who?” asked Jake

“The healer” said Peyton. “Brooke you stay here with Jake and Haley. Watch him okay”

Peyton pulled Lucas out of the house.

“Why are you hurrying?” asked Lucas as Peyton sprinted to her car.

“We don’t have much time. He could die if we don’t hurry!” said Peyton. “We aren’t like you! Our bodies can’t take this environment when we are sick”

“So if we don’t hurry?” asked Lucas speeding down the highway

“Nathan dies” said Peyton sadly.

“ Haley can you go get me a wet cloth?” asked Brooke tearing up looking at Nathan who was so helpless.

Haley left the room. Jake took her spot. “Here let me help” said Jake trying to take the blankets from her

“I am fine!” yelled Brooke. “He doesn’t need you or Haley! He needs me!! Peyton and I are all he has and knows!! We need to stick together! I was stupid to think I could have a relationship”

“No you weren’t” said Jake

“I have to take care of him” said Brooke. “We are family! We are three! There is no room for fun or for boyfriends”

Haley returned and saw Jake looking sad as he sat on the kitchen stool. Brooke was sitting with Nathan slowly running her hands through his hair.

“Here” said Haley handing her the cloth.

Brooke took it and said nothing else.

“So I guess you two are really close” said Haley quietly

“Yeah it is the three of us against the world” said Brooke. “He never had a family like Peyton and I. So we are all he has”

“Do you think there would be room for one more?” asked Haley as she watched Nathan’s pale face

“I want to say no for my sake” said Brooke. “But with aliens Haley”

Haley listened carefully

“You just never know” said Brooke as she looked over at Jake
