hellooo.... alrighty, im here to let some of the newer ppl know how to boost, the proper way... not that base_summon _good/dark crap. for those of you who dont know what that is, its the spell that most non editors use to boost themselves, and commonly found with the fixes of agony of agony, but anyway, we're going to go into something a little more difficult, but much more efficient, and 1000000 times more useful.
ok, first off, there are 2 different types of boosting, MB, (mana boosting) and DB (death boosting), the first of which i dont remember too well because i havent used it in forever, but ill see what i can do in the way of explaning it. ok, now within mana boosting, there are also 2 different variations, its really up to you as to which you want to use. so for mana boosting type A, you should keep all your stats low except for strength, because dexterity and intelligence add to mana, and the goal for this type of boosting is to have negative mana. so as i said, very low intel. and dex., strength can be max i believe, dont remember... but anywho, to do this, you'll need to put the sufix, "of refuge" on all your armor, or at least enough of it so that your mana is negative as soon as you join the game (thats why mana need's be low in the first place, because there is only a certain amount of space you have for the "of refuge" suffixes).
(negative mana looks like this: -273/-273)
so once you've edited enough refuge fixes onto your guy to make the mana negative, just pick up an item, and drop it back down so that the mana will reset and look like this: 0/-100 . now, the pots you actually boost with are mana potions, with prefixes and/or suffixes on them that will boost your character. here are a few fixes that i would recommend for starters...
"wiley" - for melee dodge, just incase for some reason you decide to drop your shield rings...
"of vindication" - this is for reflect, so if someone punches you, the dmg is reflected back to them, so instead of just you dying, you both die, very nifty...
"of agony" - raises melee dmg.
"of attainment" - raises range dmg.
"of zeal" - raises nature magic dmg.
"of repression" - raises combat magic dmg.
"hulking" - add's to armor.
"of the lion" - add's to hp.
"recoiling", or "impeding" - recoiling raises range dodge, and impeding reduces range dmg., again just incase for some reason you decide to take off your shield rings...
ok, so once you have some mana pots, and you have some of the previously listed fixes on them, your next step will be to assign hotkeys, to enable fast drinking... to do this, go to options, then press the tab that says hotkeys, then in the place of attack freely, put a " , " (comma), and in the place of hold fire, put a " . " (period).
and the others will probably already be set, but incase for some reason they're not, drink mana potion should be set to " M ", and drink health potion should be set to " H ". so once these are defined, and you have dex. and intel. low, so mana will be low, and you have the "of refuge" fixes on your armor, so mana will turn negative, then edit some mana pots with some of the fixes i just named. and once you have all this together, and negative mana has been reset so its 0/-271 (by picking up a piece of refuge armor and dropping it back on) or whatever number, then you press ,.m all at once... (*comma* *period* *m key on keyboard*)... congradulations, you just did your first fast drink... now remember to watch your stats closely, keep in mind while your doing this, that your hp, armor, melee, or range dmg dont go over 100k. (over 100k = OB... OB = over boosted... over boosted = lag... lag = bad game manners... bad game manners can sometimes = kick or ban...) now to cast spells, you will need a special spell book with the fix "of invigoration" on it. MAKE SURE THAT THIS SPECIAL BOOK IS NOT EQUIPPED ON YOUR CHAR WHEN YOU ARE EDITING HIM/HER TO MAKE MANA NEGATIVE !!!!!!!!!
alright, next thing to cover is the 2nd type of mana boosting... with this, your mana really doesnt matter......that much... the components you will need are: at least 6 SUPER health potions of refuge (you can have more if you want, but i wouldnt have any less than 6), mana potions of any size with the fixes you have chosen to boost with on them, and the spell mana chant (or rage). having the funpots mod is very useful but not completelyt necessary. you will also need hotkeys to be assigned just like before, but this time, you dont have to keep your initial mana low, meaning you can have 160 dex, 160 intel and 160 strength, and you also dont need to have any armor of refuge, but i would make a spell book thats equipped with the fixes of refuge on it, and have a different book with the fix " of invigoration" on it, that you actually use for casting spells and such. now, once you've got all that, to boost, you need to hurt yourself a little so you will be able to start drinking. this can be done by making a piece of armor with a fix on it that adds to health, then pick it up, and drop it back on. or if you got the spell "mana chant" ( or the spell "rage"), cast it on yourself and you will be hurt just a little. now heres the tricky part... as soon as you hurt yourself, you have to immediately start fast drinking your health pots of refuge, and keep fast drinking until you run out of health pots (which sucks for you, and means you need to make more of them) or until your mana is negative... you see, the suffix "of refuge" adds 15 to health, and subtracts 12 from mana, so since the pots your drinking are health pots, it creates a kind of cycle, where as soon as you drink to heal yourself, the refuge on the pot adds more to your max health at the same time, so your still hurt a little, then you drink again, and the health pot heals it, but the fix of refuge adds more to health again, and your hurt again, so you can keep drinking. so i just gave you the "why" it works, so now its time for me to give you the "how". so like i said earlier, hurt yourself to start it off, either by picking up and dropping back on a piece of armor that adds to health, or cast mana chant on yourself, or cast rage on yourself (only thing with rage is it hurts you a little more than the others and thus uses up the refuge pots faster, which is not good unless you have alot of them, or have the funpots mod running), and AS SOON AS YOU ARE HURT, START FAST DRINKING THE HEALTH POTS OF REFUGE AND DONT STOP UNTIL MANA IS NEGATIVE!!!! but if you do stop, then just hurt yourself again, and start fast drinking. for a reminder on fast drinking, see the explanation of the first type of mana boosting above. keep in mind this may take a minute, depending on how much mana you have, but dont worry it wont take too long as long as you keep fast drinking and dont keep having to stop cause your pressing the keys too slow...
so now, your mana is FINALLY negative from fast drinking the health pots of refuge, so your ready to boost with your mana pots. so just fast drink them, just like in the method before, but be careful not to boost anything that adds to mana, otherwise mana will no longer be negative, then you'll have to make it negative again, which is a pain... and also remember your special spell book with the fixes "of invigoration" on it so you'll be able to cast spells after you boost. btw... in case you dont know what add's to mana, increasing stats like intel and dex will make your mana no longer be negative, so thats why i said for this second method of mana boosting, make sure your stats are all at 150 or 160, then you wont have much to worry about...
so in summary, thats mana boosting in a nut shell. in my opinion, the second method of mana boosting is the preferred between the two, but overall, i prefer death boosting much more, which i am about to cover right now...
first of all, to death boost, you MUST HAVE, either dbpots2003, or the fun pots mods running, either or, they both work fine. then you must have HEALTH pots with your fixes to boost on them, and you also must have a MINIMUM of 3 SMALL HEALTH potions. character stats and such mean absolutely nothing when death boosting, except for the normal limits, you know, not over 100k hp, or armor, or mana, or anything like that. now, if the mods are working, the small health potions will be empty at the start of your game, and to death boost, you take small health pot #1, and touch it to small health pot #2. they will fill, and this will also switch the pot your holding, so you'll actually be holding #2, then take this pot and touch it to the empty #3. this will cause one of them to dissapear, and one full one to be left. now all you have to do is right click on one of the full ones to drink it, and you will die standing up, then fast drink like usual, but remember this time your drinking health pots, so you press , . h (comma) (period) (h key on keyboard), while your dead, to drink the potions. this is where counting matters, because you will not be able to see your stats increasing, so work out a formula that allows you to get a decent amount of boost, without OB'ing. in games running funpots, or dbpots2003, you can drink whichever one of the potions you like, but in games without it, you'll have to drink the one that was the combination of pots 2 and 3. and dont worry if you dont know which are wich, just right click both until you die standing up lol... now remember i said 3 small health pots minimum, but i actually keep 12, just incase i need them for any reason at all. now once you've reached the number of fast drinking taps that you decided on, respawn, and you will be boosted

... another thing... having the montyhaul mod, is highly recommended for both types of boosting (both MB, and DB) but for this type especially. so, thats boosting...

Boosting with magic blox and correct counting coming soon...
AAHHH!!! almost forgot!!.... ummmmm, ok. it is also crucial that your character be locked before you try boosting, because if it isnt locked, you will actually use the potions and you will have to remake them again. now i know some of you might not understand what i mean, so heres an indepth explanation.
locking your char (hiding hp, like you've probably seen alot of other editors do, where youn cant see their hp at the bottom) is very simple, and also required for boosting. so to lock your char, you just press "Enter" on your keyboard 3 times, inbetween the last letter of your name, and the second quote mark next to the semi colon. so heres how it looks...
Normal Unlocked char:
screen_name = "{ODC} your chars name {ODC}";
Locked char:
screen_name = "{ODC} your chars name {ODC}
";
thats how it should look. now the thing with locking is, your hp is hidden from other players, AND you can never lose any items you have on that char unless you edit them out. for example, you go in a game, and someone asks you for an item, give it to um, cause if your char is locked, all you gotta do is rejoin the game you will have the item in the exact same place it was before... pretty cool huh?

, BUT!! you also can not take any items with you from the game, and have them in your char when you extract. essentially, locking keeps any permanent modifications from being made to your char while your in the game. so i would not start locking until i was confident that my char was ready

. but for boosting, you MUST lock your char, cause otherwise, your gonna have alot of work to do with re-editing pots and things... lol so peace out for now homies, and remember, Boosting with Magic blox and correct counting, + breaking, + multi fixes, all coming soon...
