But it was much too far for her to reach, a whisp of a memory that could never be returned.

The scratching of the quill began to slow as her thoughts began to fade, a tingling and frustrating sensation clawing at the back of her mind as creativity took it's leave. Shadows danced over the parchment still wet with black as night ink that had yet to dry while the small Slytherin fire continued to burn, allowing only the little bit of warmth the students needed to survive. It was far warmer in the dormitories for sure and perhaps that was why she was down here in shorts and a cami, freezing her sorry ass off.

But she couldn't write in the dark, it was almost impossible without lined paper. Her word would collide, spelling errors would go unnoticed and for a somewhat perfectionist, that was horror. Besides, if one of the girls were to wake up, there'd be questions to be answered and insults to be thrown. So Adriana had taken the liberty of sneaking into the Slytherin Common Room at maybe two hours past midnight- fueled with a need to write.

But now, the very substance that had onced caused her to leave her graciously warm bed had now vanished entirely from the depths of her mind. She couldn't help but let out a frustrated sigh. The first time days she gets a chance to write and what happens? Writers Block has to be a jackass and invade her head like an alien from the sky instead.

Slowly, cerulean eyes traveled to the rest of the room she sat in, glancing curiously around- mostly focusing on the dark corners of the common room. Slytherins weren't ones to be afraid of darkness considering they practically lived in it, but it sent chills up her spine nonetheless. Believe it or not, little teenage girls didn't really appreciate the thought of a hideous monster jumping from the shadows and devouring her.

No, she was just being negative. Monsters like that didn't run through Hogwarts on a daily basis unless you counted the basilisk. Though even he was gone now, thank god.

"Now stop spazzing and think." A strange habit to have really, speaking to yourself and scolding yourself, but that's just what happened when you sat in complete silence for more then an hour. It was lucky [and surprising] she hadn't woken anyone up with the constant rambling she did, but believe us, Adriana wasn't anywhere near complaining. Though it would have been nicer to at least have a stupid cat for company, but Shadow had kept himself locked away under her bed. Bloody cat and his bloody ways.

Eva hadn't been in the comman room long, just long enough to drop off her school bag, then head back out. Where she would go? Well, that was something she hadn't thought about just yet, after all, life was to short to worry about this like that.

As she opened the dorm door, and stepped out in to the comman area. Moving a piece of her auburn hair out of her eyes, she looked around. The room was just as it had always been, damp bleak and depressing. Perfect for a group of students that were known for being damp, cold and drepressing to the outside world. Ok, maybe not depressing, unless you include bullying other as depressing.

As she looked around, she heard something come from the corner. Looking around, she saw the other girl. Studying her from the back for a minute, she tried to place a name to her, but she couldn't. Deciding that it wasn't important, she walked over, and spoke to her from behind, "Talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity." She said simply. Something Eva could relate to.

"IT WAS THE GOBLIN!"

Adriana blinked in surprise, a bit confused to see there was still a Slytherin up, but even more in wonder on why she had blamed a goblin for doing... something. It was the first sentence on the top of her mind and out of shock, she had blurted it without thinking. Her eyes narrowed slightly at Evangeline's comment, but heck, she knew the girl well enough to not even get the slightest bit mad.

"What can you do? This place can drive anyone crazy." She answered with a dramatic sigh before grinning, turning around fully to face her, "Whatcha doing up so late?" For the time being, her writing was nothing but an essay she had forgotten to do- if you didn't want to be caught, you didn't look suspicious. Easy as that.

"IT WAS THE GOBLIN!"

Eva just raised an eyebrow and looked at Adriana, a little confused about what a goblin had to do with anything. After all, there was really nothing to suggest a goblin in what she had said. Maybe though, it was a slytherin thing to be a little weird? Maybe? Well, Eva knew about being a little wierd, after all, she was who she was right?

Ok, well now that made no sense in Eva's mind, and honestly, who's mind would it really make sense in? Eva was known to go off like that sometimes though, and it was probably a good thing that she kept it to herself, or people would think her weirder then she actually was.

"What can you do? This place can drive anyone crazy."

Ah, yes, school could and would do that to you, if you let it. Personally, she liked the idea of being here, and away from everyone at home. So, really she didn't let it drive her crazy. She then spoke to the other girl, "Nothing really, I was just wondering who was talking to themselves." She said with an off hand air.

"Whatcha doing up so late?"

Eva shrugged, she was a night owl, and hated the day, and loved the night, that was just about it. Actually, she had hoped to go down to the forest, and see the sites at night. The one thing she hadn't done yet. She then answered the question, "I'm just going out for awhile tonight. There's nothing else to do." She said with a shrug, wondering how much she should share with Adriana.
