Halloween. Great, just great. Oh Ah-hin loved this time of year but apparently no she couldn't just go in her judo uniform. According to Lola it was way too simple. With a sigh the teen shifted the plain white mask she wore huffing silently about the lack of peripheral vision. She hated masks or anything that impeded her line of sight. She'd decided to let Lola give her a few ideas of a costume to wear and well of course the older girl had suggested frilly girly stuff.

And what was Ah-hin in?

Well nothing as outlandish as what Lola was wearing but it was dress all the same. What she wouldn't have given for a nice pair of pants and boots. She had to hide a smile at the thought of Lola's expression if she'd dressed as a ninja. Too bad she hadn't thought of that sooner. Oh well she'd save that one for next year. She glanced around wondering if she'd see Darren. She'd found she rather liked the young man. He made her seem almost normal. She didn't see him yet but with all the faces in masks he could be nearby without her knowing it. No one around her had his build though. She had a good memory for detail and well he had been on her mind lately more than she'd have liked to admit. Oh well perhaps she'd see him while she was here.

For all that I hate parties this one has been fun so far. she thought idly as she pulled her braid over her shoulder to fiddle with the end of it. She was getting bored though she wasn't nervous. Not yet anyway. Blue-hazel eyes flickered around taking everything in though the mask hid her bored expression. She'd chosen the mask just for that purpose though one could still see that her lips were set in a firm frown. Not something she could help when she wasn't completely relaxed just jet. That might not happen tonight though. All the masks were making her nervous for some reason. It was probably the fact that she hadn't been to a costume party before or celebrated Halloween. She was kind of liking the holiday though oddly enough.

She leaned against the wall on the edge of the ballroom content to watch the rest of the party-goers for the time being. She wasn't as aloof as she once had been but she still wasn't comfortable socializing in large crowds just yet. She was glad she'd gotten Lola and Araceli as roommates though and she hoped they could stay roommates. Sure the three girls had their differences but she enjoyed spending time with them though she wasn't going to let Lola near her with make up or clothes anytime soon. A soft smile curved her lips as a more upbeat song started and her fingers began tapping out a beat against her thigh.

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

Morgan wasn't a huge fan of dressing up. It was, after all, a rather childish activity, and seemed to be far too much the preserve of princesses to be of any interest. On Halloween, however, she would make an exception... because Halloween was about scaring people. She still had the zombie costume from last year that had made several freshman students literally wet their pants with fear. This year, she'd decided to go for menacing rather than outright scary. How much more menacing could anything be than Morgan Scott with a bloody great sword?

Yes, she was dressed as a pirate, in an adapted men's costume because the female version had had her, Banzai and Ed in stitches. No self-respecting pirate would ever wear that clearly male-designed flouncy monstrosity. She and her boys were dressed more or less to theme tonight (sadly, she had been unable to stop Ed from, with his own special logic, attaching a stuffed parrot to the shoulder of his costume), although the school's nannying administration had seen fit to separate them from the beginning. Morgan had been fortunate that her assigned companion in the boat ride over here hadn't been a complete idiot.

Now back on dry land, she strolled around the ruined castle, occasionally shoving people out of her way or stomping on toes with her enormous boots. Even dressed up, it was hard to miss Morgan Scott. She rested her hand on the hilt of her sword as naturally as if she wore one every day and looked around. Banzai and Ed were either still waiting around for their so-called dates on the other side of the lake or they were lost. Or they'd found some food, in which case she would kick them both in the nuts later for not sharing. In any event, she seemed to be flying solo for now. It didn't take more than one person, really, to frighten Lola-Jo Delmar into tipping over in her pink eyesore of a dress, anyway.

As she ambled about, a masked figure standing by the wall caught her eye and she smirked, changing direction. "What's the matter, Cinders?" she began once she was close enough not to have to shout, and smirked nastily. "Prince Charming ditch you already?" The fact that there were people here tonight who technically were Cinderella and her prince didn't hurt her metaphor in the slightest.

[[ sorry it's taken me so long <33 ]]
