Title: Queen Cells?

Tavascarow - June 14, 2010 04:16 PM (GMT)
Has anyone got any.
I'm desperate to split my national & after inspecting on Saturday have come to the conclusion I've missed the prime swarm (Call myself a beekeeper).
Which was destined for my first TBH.
The upshot is I've a young queen that's only now starting to lay.
& to speed things up wondered if anyone had a queen cell or two that I could make up a nuc with?

I don't think I can help Steve... My National colony swarmed just over three weeks ago, I caught them but I don't think either group will be producing queen cells for a while :(

Wondering if Vini has any.
Does anyone have her number?

Sorry, no. :(

Perhaps exchanging contact details is something we could do on the forum?

If this software works like my other forum I could set up a private forum containing such info, the entry fee would be provision of such info to include :)

Thanks Jan.
Didn't remember she had posted it on the other forum.

Hi Steve,
I hope to heaven that my bees haven't got any Q cells (though I wouldn't put it past them) but I haven't got time to check them out at present - and anyway they've already swarmed 4 times (!) - 2 swarms to each hive - and what is more I've yanked 8 frames out from one of them to further reduce the risk.
Nevertheless, the other one is looking very prolific again... :( - I went in over last weekend to retrieve a fallen comb and am loathe to disturb them again so soon but I suppose it would be the responsible thing to do in terms of trying to keep my neighbours calmish.
How about - if you come over and have a look through the observation window and we can go in if you reckon it has potential. Bear in mind that I took 15 Q cells out of this hive on 21 May (leaving 1 behind). What do you think?
All the best, Vee (vini)
