Nickname[s]: The Blossom’s Wings (his mother's name translates to blossom, and his Shouchou-Ikimono is the butterfly).

Physical Appearance/Traits: Nori stand at 5’ 4”, weighs about 95 lbs., and has pale skin. His piercing green eyes more than make up for his size, but, they are often covered up by his ebony locks. His hair, as black as night, hangs in front of his face to cover his eyes(even his headband does nothing to tame his bangs) and is down in the back (coming to halfway down his neck). Nori has what some would call a handsome face, with thin, defined lips, stunning eyes, and full (but not fat) cheeks.

Nori wears a dark purple fishnet suit over most of his body, only ending at his legs like shorts (and obviously at his neck like a shirt would). Over the fishnet, he wears a tight-fitting short-sleeve black shirt, with indigo stitching up the sides. He also wears mauve pants which go down a little past his knees. Nori wears black ninja sandals with dark purple socks.

Personality: Nori is strange person when it comes down to it. While generally cold, distant, and demented on the outside, he is actually a caring and sympathetic person, very well in touch with the emotions of others. Despite his demeanor, Nori has an idealistic outlook on life, trying to see what could be rather than what probably will be. This attitude often annoys those around him, who consider him to think like a child. On the contrary, Nori is often the most mature in any group he is in.

When around others, Nori really doesn’t change very much. If he is with friends, he does seem to lighten up some, while the opposite is true when around strangers. Nori never seems to be afraid to contradict someone when they are wrong, which will get him into trouble in various situations. His way with words will get him out of most any such event, so he rarely holds his tongue. Nori doesn’t believe in hiding one’s true feelings anyway.

Weapons/Equipment: Senbon needles, butterfly shuriken (a chakra-infused demon windmill shuriken, which contains poisoned blades that flip out from the main ones. Nori carries them folded up, so he can carry several), smoke bombs, and exploding tags.

Fighting Traits: One trait that Nori is praised for is his ability to execute genjutsu at extremely high speeds, supported by his intense concentration. Superiors have also commented on the fact that his illusions “could stop the most expecting opponent in his tracks” (hinting that they are very realistic) and a few might admit that Nori has bested them (to shame) on the genjutsu front. He is also said to have above average chakra control, and a good eye for how to exploit his opponent’s weaknesses (as most members of the Haruki clan do).

Heru Maisou no Jutsu (Hell Burial Technique): This is a wicked (as in demented) jutsu that creates the illusion of being dragged into the ground. Using this technique, Nori creates four ghoulish hands that rise from the ground and ‘drag’ the enemy down into an illusionary blackness.

Bakemono Koe no Jutsu (Phantom Voice Technique): The first of the Haruki clan’s original jutsu, Bakemono Koe no Jutsu is a partner technique to Konpaku Nagori no Jutsu. This jutsu greatly intensifies the user’s voice in the mind of his/her opponent’s, allowing the user to make their voice frightening and powerful, or as strong as an army. A benefit of this jutsu is that the user doesn’t have to open his/her mouth (or speak) to activate it.

Konpaku Nagori no Jutsu (Ghost Memory Technique): The second of the clan’s original jutsu, Konpaku Nagori no Jutsu is the Haruki’s powerful technique that gives a name to the clan’s love of exploiting their enemy’s weaknesses. By making physical contact with his/her opponent, sees their foes greatest fears and sadest, memories, creating traumatic illusions utilizing them. Right before the illusion, all present lose their vision. When their eyesight returns, the illusion has been created.

Ahou Bunshin no Jutsu (Fool Clone Technique): This jutsu creates clones that resemble dead people (often those related to the opponent, if known) which are extremely disfigured by Nori. When struck, the clones do not disappear, only reacting to the impact of the attack. The clones will disappear if Nori can’t continue to exert enough chakra.

Ninjutsu:

Sendo-Chou Kessetsu no Jutsu (Death Butterfly: Knot): Materializing his chakra in the form of a purple ethereal butterfly, Nori shoots it at the enemy, temporarily paralyzing the immediate area it touches.

Sendo-Chou Hamon no Jutsu (Death Butterfly: Ripple): Nori sends out a flurry of purple butterflies, which explode when near the enemy. The resulting explosion gives off an extremely bright light, blinding the enemy.

Weaknesses: Nori, while skilled in Genjutsu and decent in Ninjutsu, his Taijutsu is HORRIBLE. To exaggerate, rather than not wanting to hurt the fly, he probably couldn't. He also has very little stamina. This meaning that there is only so much Nori can take before his body breaks down. 'So much' being not much at all.

Nori's final weakness is probably his worst. His desire to care for and help others often causes him to neglect his own needs and feelings. In battle, this means that Nori will more than often help his friends, putting himself at risk. However, his long range fighting style will normally keep him out of harm even when his charitable side surfaces. However, Nori has been able to keep this in check to protect his image....for now, that is.

History: Nori of the Haruki Clan was born to Hana and Yo, on the fifth of April, under a pale full moon. His mother passed shortly after his birth, the ghostly moon marking the birth only making the day more ominous in the eyes of the Haruki, a very superstitious people. For years after his entrance into the world, the child blessed ‘Belief’ (English translation of Nori) was practically shunned by the members of his clan, his existence only meaning the death of the Haruki’s ‘mother figure’ Hana. Oblivious to the hatred, Nori began his training as a ninja. Tamasine, Yo’s twin brother was to be his tutor.

Nori gave his uncle little to believe in, his taijutsu abilities nonexistent and his ninjutsu less than average. Fearing for the boy’s future as a shinobi, Tamasine went to his twin to report his son’s progress. As if his brother should have already known to do so, Yo instructed Tamasine to begin training Nori in the clan’s techniques, Bakemono no Jutsu and Konpaku no Jutsu. His father right, Nori quickly excelled in both jutsus, showing his early prowess of genjutsu. It was then that the boy worked with Tamasine to develop his own jutsu, Heru Maisou no Jutsu. Nori’s uncle admitted that the technique even stopped of man of his age in his tracks.

Happy with his son’s growth, Yo made the decision to send the boy to academy. Overwhelmed by the large amount of other hopefuls, in contrast to the relatively small number of Haruki Clan members, Nori was forever the one alone in the corner of the room. While he was not a social butterfly, the boy immediately rose to the top of his class, his intelligence explaining his great skill in genjutsu. When not in class or training, Nori would flee to the comfort of the forest, chasing the butterflies and resting in the treetops. It was through these days alone that the boy received the inspiration for two more of his original jutsus. Admiring the grace of the butterfly, Nori worked hard for days and days, finally developing his Sendo-Chou Kessetsu no Jutsu.

Shortly after developing the technique, the reclusive student aced his final exam, graduating from the academy. For a month after Nori’s advancement to Genin level, he trained intensely with his father to develop his skills. Using his Shouchou-Ikimono for inspiration (to be explained in the Haruki Clan bio thing), Nori developed another technique, Sendo-Chou Hamon no Jutsu and strengthened his ninjutsu and taijutsu. Displaying his son’s butterfly inspired jutsus to the clan, Yo’s pride was injured as the Harukis found his techniques quite humorous. The butterfly was such a weak Shouchou-Ikimono, many thought, and Nori swore that he would prove them wrong.

Other: A little known fact about Nori is that he relies heavily on his dreams for answers or inspiration, yet he finds no meaning in the clan’s superstitions. His Shouchou-Ikimono is the butterfly, of course. His favorite color is purple and he loves flowers. Nori’s preferred food is any sort of meat, his least favorite being any vegetable. His most overused phrase is “This nightmare is real”, quoting a reoccurring dream. He has a pet cat, named Kohana (a she), who he found in the forest on one of his many excursions. Nori is also ashamed that I only wrote the minimum for his history….shame…

Sample RP: A deadly barrage of kunai seemed to explode from the bushes, hammering into a tree as Nori rolled away out of harm’s way. And as the previously hidden enemy charged at the genin, he avoided every blow, as if he anticipated every one of his attacker’s moves. Soon, he had him. Nori smacked a hard palm on the man’s back, several unnerving images flashing through his young mind. For such a bold fighter, his foe had seemed to fear so much. Smiling like a mad man, the copse of trees around them shifted into a battle torn plain, bodies scattering the ruined ground. It was the Konpaku Nagori no Jutsu.

As expected, the man reacted to the illusion, his body frozen in fear. Nori knew that he could add another corpse to the battlefield, but would that really be fun? Making a few seals, the Haruki had to hold back laughter as he activated the Bakemono Koe no Jutsu. His mouth was closed, and he wore a rigid smile, but he could talk up a storm.

“Do you want to join them?!”, Nori screamed in the man’s head, the volume overwhelming. His attacker’s quickness to grab his head, and his convulsions only made the boy’s actions sweeter. Withdrawing a senbon needle, Nori poked the man’s pale neck with it, bringing their faces close together. “Death might be a blessing to you…”, he whispered, his breath hot on the man’s neck.

“Please! Leave me alone, you demon! Don’t touch me!”, the scared husk of a man screamed, trying to bring his body to creep away from the mere boy he called a demon. His fear paralyzed him, though, and he remained in place.

“I won’t lay a hand on you”, he exhaled, gently tracing the man’s cheekbones with his needle. Throwing an arm over his opponent’s shoulders, Nori made a wide gesture to the man’s fallen comrades, slipping behind him. Making the hand seals in privacy, the boy cackled much like the demon he was, as clones with the likeness of the fallen men converged on his victim. Nori’s laughter faded away, as did the man’s cries for mercy.

Nori awoke with a start. It was that dream again. That dream always woke him from his sleep, and each time, a weak joy seemed to erase the fear little by little. Such a dream would only mean insomnia for a majority of the normal people of the world, but that was not Nori. He embraced the haunting images, crafting a frightening genjutsu, the Ahou Bunshin no Jutsu. The haunting ‘nightmare’ still fresh in his mind, a small smile crept across Nori’s face, as sleep claimed him once again.
