Yes, Gaborik is an injury mess. But when you can replace Gomez with Gaborik for basically the same money, you do it. Especially if you're a Ranger fan that watched this game...

It's better to have him on your team!

Hopefully this fool can stay somewhat healthy. Oh, and shout out to Bob Gainey for taking a contract I thought was impossible to trade, and giving us a great return too. Thanks, Bob!

Another cool Gaborik video

There must be something underneath that trade .... !

Cause WE ALL know that this trade was pure crap! Anybody in here wouldnt have made this trade!

So how come a NHL GM like Bobette Gainey did it ?!#% Maybe he said to Sather "if I'm in the hunt for the palyoffs when March arrive I hope you'll be there for me at the trade deadline" otherwise Bob is a little Napoléon ... and he's becoming a sick coucou since he got full control of hockey department ?!@

But as talent wise .. I prefere Gomez over Koivu.

But work ethic wise, no contest Koivu>Gomez by a mile.

I think the Rangers are nuts handing out a contract like that to a guy who can't even play a full season. Here's hoping to the best, I like Gaborik.

There's no denying that when healthy, Gaborik is one of the best snipers in the league. I mean, he's had four 30-goal seasons since the lockout on an incredibly defensive minded team and only once during that stretch played more than 70 games. Which leads me to my second point...

He's only had one season where he played more than 70 games since the lockout. Have fun watching Gaborik, John, because you'll probably get to see him in a suit for a quarter of the season.

That is possible, especially based on his history. But considering we were paying Gomez the same amount to play an entire season, score 58 pts, and go nowhere in the playoffs, I can't see that we got worse or have anything to lose. At least the guy is crazy exciting to watch when he plays. IMO, this guy is one of the most talented offensive players in the world. And he's been kept on a leash his entire career. I am excited to see what he can do in a more wide open system.

I kinda feel the same. Like now that Gaborik might finally feel like he's getting paid what he's really worth or that he is on a team that will actually let him play his game, he might finally show up to camp in shape.

He can definitely be a 50 goal scorer, and I think almost everybody agrees that he has tremendous skills and is a great player. I just wonder how many times you can pull your groin before it becomes a big bother. To figure it out, I pulled my groin last night..... 50 or 60 times! The results were pleasing.

Gaborik is completely over paid for the amount of games he plays. I thought it would be more like a 1 yr contract type thing for 4m or something to see if he can actually play a full season.

Jordan Staal WILL NEVER BE NEAR THE Z CATEGORY and you can quote me on that !!! thank you bisc.

"I've been watching NHL hockey since the 1970s[60s]. It's been increasingly difficult to take the league seriously since Bettman came in and ruined it, and shit all over the league's history and the NHL itself. Now, with Pitt "building" this championship team, it's damn near impossible to even watch this joke." thank you SSB.

She also came over and pulled my groin 10 times wink.gif

I kid, I kid, lol.... maybe....

Gaborik's contract right now is a complete overpayment but has the potential to be just fine. The Rangers overpaying for a player? Shocking!!!! tongue.gif

This could turn out well... but it could turn out like Bure, lol.

Didn't Gaborik have the same surgery that Kariya had, that he said made him feel significantly younger? Something tells me Gaborik might stay healthy this year.

12 straight games healthy to start the season, a new personal best. Now he's injured and the Rangers have dropped two straight. At the rink in a suit... this is more like the Gaborik I remember.

Keep in mind Gaborik's salary directly replaced Gomez's salary. This season: Gaborik 10 goals in 12 games. Last season: Gomez 16 goals in 77 games. I'll take it. Yeah, he's missed two games, but it's hard to argue when a guy has 18 points in 12 games.
