Everybody may have heard the story about Pinocchio in Pinocchio DVD who is well-known for having a short nose that becomes longer when he is under stress, especially while telling a lie. His clothes are made of flowered paper, his shoes are made of wood and his hat is made of bread. That’s the story parents always use to frighten their lying children in order to shape their honest characteristics. Despite the fact that in Italian the name Pinocchio might be a version of 'baby pine', in fact it means pinecone which is distinctly, probably willfully illogical as the book clearly states that the puppet was made out of cherry wood. Inventor Gepetto creates a wooden marionette called Pinocchio. His wish that Pinocchio be a real boy is unexpectedly granted by a fairy. Pinocchio dvd set assigns Jiminy Cricket to act as Pinocchio's "conscience" and keep him out of trouble. Jiminy is not too successful in this endeavor and most of the film is spent with Pinocchio deep in trouble. Pinocchio is the cartoon character which impressed me most.
