Hector was born in C.E 47 on February 10th to Gregory and Julian Bartel; they lived in a small southern town along Italy’s southern coast. The town was a small fishing port where many larger cities bought their seafood and other good. While Julian tried hard to give Hector a simple life, she could not hide the fact from him that Gregory was a soldier in Eurasian Federations Military. At first Hector did not understand why his father was a soldier, but it was later explained to him that Gregory was doing it to keep him and Julian safe and to provide for the family. Hector admired Gregory’s job and devotion to keep him safe from harm, so he looked toward the future for when he could soon follow his father’s example and do things for his own community.
Hector, only able to do so much as a teenager, sought help to start a community service club at school. It took a couple tries before his school finally allowed the Club to be established. After that, he gathered help from friends and other students within the school and began going out and doing various odd jobs. During an odd job to clean up a community park, Gregory visits for a moment to let Hector know he was being set off to fight. It was hard to take in the news, but Hector understood his father’s job and with a smile, Gregory drove off to the base. Trying not to be a spoiled sport, Hector continued to keep a high head as he followed through with various odd jobs with his club. Time finally caught up with Hector as he had to relieve his club leader position for his high school graduation. Gregory managed to get leave time to attend, the man even brought Hector a souvenir from his travels, a large Japanese Katana he bought from a Japanese store in his military travels. The sword was interesting as a souvenir, so Hector stored it away in a protective case.
Turning 18, Hector had a choice to make for his future Career, so he chose to be like Gregory and joined the military academy. At first, Julian was shocked at his choice but learned to accept it, she even gave a “father like son” joke just before Hector shipped off. Hector was on the road to being like his father; the training academy’s regimen was tough and soul crushing, but he toughed it out and never once thought of quitting. By the time he was finished with his recruitment training, Hector went on to training to use a Linear Tank and for more advanced infantry training. During a training sortie in his squads Linear Tank, he is appointed as a Driver. It was not the position he was aiming for but it was better than nothing so he accepted it.
Hectors first ever sortie was during the war where the test of his new position was pitied against ZAFTs newest creation, the GINN. In his first encounter with a GINN he panicked. It was not something he trained to fight, but he knew he had to follow orders. His linear tank receives damage to the right tread and losses the cannon barrel to the GINN’s heavy sword. Hector manages to get his tank crew out of danger but is left with the gruesome fact that combat was not as easy as he thought it was. He later made a request for a transfer out of the tank division, but is denied due to lack of available tank drivers on base. By the wars end, Hector had gone through much; fighting ZAFTs mobile suits proved particularly hard as he experienced many near death moments. Through his time as Tank driver, he was starting to think he had bit a little more than he could chew. The Second Battle at Jachin Due had just ended when Hector had just started his mobile suit training.
The Strike Dagger was hard to control and he even toppled over a couple times before he could finally get a decent grip for the controls. Going from a Tank Driver to a mobile suit pilot was no easy task as there was so much more that he had to learn. Hectors first sortie in the Strike Dagger would not happen until the Combine Task Force was established to hunt down remnants of the Blue Cosmos Faction. During his travels in space he would use his spare time to run simulators where he hopped he could get better. When it was finally time to fight, Hector managed to at least survive the battle, though he could not manage to get a decent hit. During the final fight, Hector manages to at least keep up with his team, doing what he could to provide at least some effective cover fire. After the CTF finally dissolves, Hector returns the Eurasian Federation so he could take some more mobile suit training. Till now Hector has been able to use a mobile suit, but now he feels he is ready to take on his next task.RP Sample:
Hector was in the heat of battle as Boaz defense units swarmed him and his allies. The base had to fall and Hector was going to make sure of it. A GINN managed to get past him as a barus ion cannon smashed the ship behind him. Hector rotated his Strike Dagger just enough to get a proper lock and fired his beam rifle into the upper torso of the GINN. The machine exploded violently into a pink cloud of smoke. Hector then turned his attention to a CGUE teasing a fellow Dagger pilot, using his sing CIWS unit to suppress the enemy machine. The CGUE backed off for a moment, but its sword cut right into the allied dagger and killing it. Hector Put away his rifle as he closed in fast and then cut the CGUE with his beam saber right down the middle. The resulting explosion caught the daggers leg a bit, leaving dents and a slightly damaged intake vent.
"Damn, hurry up and destroy this base already!
" Hector shouted.
A com came in from the squad commander.
"Bartel, move to point 15 and protect the peacemaker force. We're gonna end this right now.
" The man said.
Hector did not bother to acknowledge the order, instead moved to fullfill the order. During his move to defend the approaching mobile armor force, he pulls in on a GINN and shoots it in the back. The rifle shot manages to blast the head off the GINN as machine retreats. A few moments later and Boaz lights up like a giant light bulb, the base had been nuked. Hector was somewhat satisfied, but moved up to clear any surviving stragglers.
