NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION.......
Below are the rules for the Lodge. ALL NEW (AND PROSPECTIVE) MEMBERS MUST READ THESE RULES!
I recommend that all members revisit this post now and then, as these rules may change at any time.
MOOSE LODGE #35 FORUMS FAQ:
Q: Can we chew gum while posting?
A: Of course! The brand, flavor choice, and regular vs. sugarless are up to you. Please note that the Administrator will not be responsible for bubbles popped on any members' face, keyboard, or monitor.
Q: Can we post articles from other sites (e.g, sites like mlb.com, washingtonpost.com, nytimes.com, cnn.com) in these forums?
A: Yes...BUT...the Administrator does not want to get sued, nor have this board shut down for copyright violations, so DO NOT post articles in their entirety. Excerpts from articles are fine, as long as you give their source. If you wish to show us an article, you must post the title, author, date, and the portion of the article that you wish to emphasize along with a link to the article. Please limit the length of the excerpt to approximately 250 words. Article excerpts exceeding the word limit will be edited or deleted. Even if you just paraphrase a quote from an article, post the source and date of the quote.
Q: Can we post pictures/images in these forums?
A: Yes, as long as you DO NOT hotlink images from any server other than your own image host. You're welcome to post images that have been loaded onto an image hosting server (e.g., Photobucket) on which you have an account, or post images from your computer as an attachment. If you wish to post any image from any site other than your own image host, you must post a LINK to the image. Also, please don't post pictures wider than 700 pixels. If you want to share a picture larger than that, please post it as a link.
Q: How do you feel about Trolls?
A: We hate 'em, we hate 'em, we hate 'em! Trolls (people who post for the sole purpose of starting arguments and upsetting our members) are not welcome here. The basic idea behind this board is to have fun. If your idea of “fun” includes insulting, hurting, annoying or otherwise not respecting your fellow ML35 members, then this board is not the place for you. So get lost!
Q: What do you do about members who flame other members?
A: Strip their clothes off, tie up their hands and feet, pour honey on them, and lock them in an airtight box filled with fire ants! (Just kidding.) Flaming (insulting another user's post, opinions, subject, grammar, or pretty much anything else, in an attempt to pick an online fight) is not allowed in any of the forums on this board -- please respect everyone's opinions, even those that differ from yours. Differences of opinion are expected; expressing those differences in a respectful manner is REQUIRED.
Q: Should I respond to flames or trolls?
A: Heck no!! Doing so just makes the situation worse. Simply ignore them, and when they don't get the attention that their puerile little brains crave, they'll slink off to annoy members of other boards.
Q: Can I advertise other web sites here at the Lodge?
A: Yes...sort of. You may post links to other sites in the appropriate forum (General Chatter, Mussina/Yankees, etc.), but keep in mind that such links may be removed at the sole discretion of the Administrator if they are deemed inappropriate for this board.
DO NOT post unsolicited commercial advertisements, business opportunities, pyramid schemes, chain letters, solicitations, or links to adult-oriented (21+, R/X rated) web sites. All such links WILL BE DELETED, so don't waste your time or ours.
A few things to keep in mind so you don't piss off the Administrator:
