I dunno...I was thinking maybe I could take Joel and make him an NPC, and instead bring this guy over.

Name: Rainier Noreis Laurent Name Meaning: strong counselor, caretaker, crowned with laurel Alias: Rain Being from France, his name is also french and most people forget his name or didn't like saying it because of their own language. So, he was oddly dubbed Rain. Gender: Male Blood Type: AB Age: 23 Birthday: Autumn 14th Birthplace: Paris, France Nationality: French/English Job: Unemployed Residency: --- Face Claim: Unknown Hair: Rainier's hair is a completely dark abyss of black or otherwise known as raven. It is cut in choppy layers and frames his face nicely. His hair reaches midway down his neck and covers his ears on the side. Towards the front, his hair is parted to the side, though it's not much of a part since it's so small. Its more of a gap and even then his hair manages to fall helplessly in front of his face. In certain lighting his hair will take on the hue of the color surrounding him. Most colors that are recognized on his hair is either the orange of a sunset or the pale blue of the moon. And although his hair is messy and unkempt, it has a very shiny cover. It doesn't look the least bit dried out or damaged. Eyes: Unlike his sister, his eyes are light blue. In fact, they are so light they look almost white. They are shaped like almonds and slanted alot for a french man, and look almost as if they are diamonds or crystals because of how uncolored they are. His eye color could be described as white with a tint of blue, when all actuality they are hazel. They mostly shine and glisten in that light crystal blue but since his eyes are hazel, depending on how much light are shining into them and the colors around him they will darken. The emotions portrayed in this mans eyes are often the look of being bored, uninterested, tired, or sad. This is probably because beneath his eyes are dark circles, revealing he has a lack of sleep. His emotions aren't really through his eyes, but more so through his facial features all together. Face: Rainier has soft features unlike most men on his face. He has high cheek bones, a very distinctive jaw line that is probably the only thing manly about his facial structure. Upon his jawline rests a pointed feminine chin and above that are plump lips that always seemed to be frowned. His nose which isn't very wide but somewhat long is pointed with a soft end. Above his slanted eyes are very thin eyebrows, as if they were plucked daily when truthfully they aren't. His face seems almost blemish free but he has a scar above -almost directly on- his right eyebrow. His lips hold a pink tint to them, but occasionally they will turn blue due to his illness. Body: As for Rainier's body it is a nice muscular tone. He isn't skinny and scrawny like alot of men he passes by, but he isn't as muscular as he'd like to be. His muscles aren't noticeable with the insane amount of clothing he wears on his body, but once his clothing is being striped from his skin you can see them alot nicer. When you touch certain parts of his body, you can feel the firmness of his muscles. Once again though, he isn't super muscular, it's just enough to prove that he is in healthy condition. A simple hug can even prove this. His skin is very pale and often makes him look more frail than he actually is. This is because he is very sick and doesn't spend the majority of his time outside. Scent: This mans scent is very far from manly. It's a refreshing scent though, knowing he is always clean. He doesn't wear any perfumes or colognes, he just uses very nice soap and shampoo. His shampoo which is scented as an oceans breeze surrounds his head and as for his body is the smell of a tangy orange but the scent is usually over powered by his shampoo. The scent of an orange on him is only noticeable when he wars less clothing and even then it's hard to notice unless standing very close to him. Picture: [x] [x] [x] Personality: Rainier is the type of person who doesn't show their true colors until a good relationship is already in place. It's very rare for him to be himself and show all of his emotions to someone that he just met, but it does happen from time to time. In general though he is a very strict, emotionless person. Or so that is how many mistake him. He is a person who just doesn't care. He doesn't care if people like him, doesn't care if he doesn't have a house, doesn't care if he has two cents in his pockets. he may come off as a jerk or uncaring person at first, but within time you'll notice it is just a facade he puts up to protect himself. Once people start to talk to him more often and get him to open up he is a very charming, emotional, and kind young person. He is bipolar and on many occasions he seems perfectly cool and calm, but the next minute he is stomping around in a rage. He never likes to show these emotions such as his sadness but it will occasionally seep out from his barrier that he has worked so hard on protecting himself in for so many years. He has been trying to control his bipolar illness, but finds it hard to do since the tiniest things sent his mood on fire. It's really only rage that people see. Less than a handful of people have actually seen him sad or depressed. As for the charming side, he can be quite the ladies man but he decides not to.He doesn't really see a point in wooing and charming women when he doesn't actually have an interest in them. There are times where he will turn on his charm if he actually needs to or if he really desires to make someones heart flutter because he wants to have that affect on the person. It's very hard for him to find someone he connects with emotionally which is just what he wants. Since it is so hard for him to find this person, he doesn't really try to be romantic around people. Though after becoming friends with him, you'll probably notice a certain sweet air about him. He is the type to give a phone call to see how or what someone is doing or to send a letter with a gift attached to let the person know he truly does care for them. In truth, he loves doing those things but never has the person to do them for. His kindness knows no limits and will gradually grow over time as a relationship blooms with him. He also has many secrets about his past and health so befriending him becomes a very juicy expirience in the gossip area. However, if he is telling you these things he means for them to stay secrets. If you end up going down the wrong path and become enemies with Rainier, he will most likely treat you like garbage. You may not have even done something wrong, but if you irritate him with your personality and/or actions he will probably try his best to stay away from you or just say the meanest things to you. He is not one for violence, but will use force and fight a person if they threaten him or someone he cares for. Usually it is only him cursing a person out or hurting their feelings. He says most physicaly wounds heal over time, emotional ones stay painful much longer and he knows this from experience. Now, if your his rival, meaning if you also are interested in his crush, he will be just as rude to you and try his best to make himself look like the better person around the lucky girl. Or maybe your a rival in another way? Like a contest or something. He will lower you down in front of others and do anything he could to beat you at whatever the contest is. As for a lover or crush, you mightn otice him begin to act shyly around you. He may become clumsy and mess up his sentences by saying the wrong words or stammering. He'll get embarrassed over the simplest things and will be more vulnerable near you. His barriers will most likely be let down completely around you and his emotions will go haywire without him wanting them to. He will just be so comfortable around you that his barriers lower without him knowing. He wil show many signs of appreciation towards you and will do his best to protect you. He iwll most likely not publicly show his feelings for you or be clingy at all due to his nature. Likes Spicy Food: It tastes best to him. He does like sweets and other foods, but he likes the zest and fiery sensation that comes with spicy foods. Instrumental Music: Music that is relaxing, not too loud and not to fast that involves no singing. Though if someone comes along with a very angelic voice he prefers singing but it is rare for him to find a voice he likes. Intruiging Appearances: People with exotic features and interesting or unusual style appeals to him. People from fraway lands or people who look out of normal nature is usually what he is attracted to. [ex. tomboys, people from other countries, lots of jewelry, big dresses, etc] Plants: Flowers, vegetables, trees, fruits, it all interests him and he likesl earnign about the plants and how they grow and what environments they grow in. Books: Fairytales, horror, romance, it's all a good read. He loves gettign lost in other worlds where unicorns can exist and gory dungeons rest. Artwork: Colorful and abstract or anything far from it, he loves seeing art and appreciates the wonderful sights it gives that the real world can't naturally. Romance: Even though he has a rough exterior, deep down inside the man is a sweetheart and loves reading about the strange ways love works. Winter: The snow, it's cold, and its ice to see everyone runnign around throwing snowballs and buildings snowmen. It may not be the busiest season, but to him it seems the happiest. Rain/Thunderstorms: How it constantly gives a sound, pitter-patter, pitter-patter. It's never quiet, so he can relax and listen to the sounds from outside or above him. People With Horrible Pasts: He likes this because he hopes to find people with pasts much worst than his. This may be selfish, but it eases his pain of his past and he doesn't pity himself as much. Long Walks: Its nice to take a walk every once in awhile instead of exercising which he does regularly. To be calm and take every step as it comes. The Beach: The waves crashing, the warmth of the sun and the coolness at night. The beach is very different depending on the time, which he feels he relates to because of his bipolar illness. Being Busy: When he is working and constantly doing something he has less time to think, which makes him a happier person since he is usually thinking about painful memories. Dislikes: Hospitals: The reason for his dislike towards the hospital is that he has to go constantly to help his illness and the fact their is no cure for it yet scares him. When he goes to the hospital it is a constant reminder that he will one day die and it will come faster for most on Obsidian. Quiet Places: It is quet, which allows his mind to wander back to the past. The past he left and tried to forget. He hates the quiet, it gives him time to remember and think. Ghosts: Knowing they could exist, the afterall in all of its glory kind of scares him. But really its the fact that he is afraid to die and wander the world as a ghost. Onions/Tomatoes: Horrible smell, taste, and they are just overall gross to him. Tomatoes are jucy and look weird on the inside, onions smell and make your eyes water. He just doesn't liek dealing with either. Fast Spinning Things: He gets light headed and dizzy and sick when he spins fast or is on something that spins way to fast in a circle. Therefore, he hates these things that make him regurgitate. Sleeping In Late: He is a mornign person and when he sleeps in late, Rainier feels horrible and dragged down all day. Weapons: If you plan on fighting, use yours fists for a fair fight. He doesn't liek violence and feels that thigns hsouldn't be created for the reason of hurting others. Animals Larger Than Himself: He has a fear of them....he has gotten use to horses since they are so commonly used for transportation but cows, lions, bears, they all scare the life out of him and he sometimes even faints when around them. Nosy People: People who have to know every and constantly ask personal questiosn annoy him. He tolerates it with some, but for most he'll want to sew the persons mouth shut. Loud Music: Its horrible and hurts hsi ears. Anything from classical and instrumental he wont even bother listening to. Brushing His Hair: Its a drag! Why brush it? It's not like it gets to tangled and it never really looks horrible or not presentable. So whats the point in brushing it? Daytime: During teh day all you see is the sun, of course stars are still out, but the sun looks so lonely with all the clouds floating by. At night, the moon is accompanied by stars, so its not lonely and doesn't make people feel lonely. Strengths: Waltzing: When he was younger his mother and aunt made him do dance lessons and years later, they just paid off. Writing: From reading, Rainier took an interest in writing and now has become very good at it. Healthy: Besides his illness, Raineir stays in tip top shape because if not, it is easier for him to feel the effects of his disease. Singing: He never really sings that much anymore, but his voice is pretty well when he is singing. He hasn't sung since he left home though. Weaknesses: Innocence: People who are innocent can probably get closer to Rainier easier. He sees them as helpless and can never do any wrong, which lets him trust them easier. Home Cooked Meals: Anything home cooked is an easy way to Rainier's heart. He will give into any offer for a home cooked meal. Disease: His disease makes it so he is limited to many physical activities. This saddens him since he was such an active child and loved sports. Library: If he passes by a library, he has to buy a new book. It's because he is afraid to miss out on something... Goals: Happy Ending: He wants to live life to his fullest because he knows he wont live as long as others around him. Find Sibling: He wnats to find his sister or just know that she is doing okay. He would be happy and content with just knowing she is alive. Write A Novel: He wants to write a book, or multiple books. Either way, he wants to make it as a writer. Fears: Happy Never After: He is afraid to die without accomplishing anything. Lost Forever: He is worried about never finding peace knowing about his sister or never finding her. She is the only family he has left with his fathers whereabouts being unknown. There is a certain emptiness that can only be filled by finding her. Larger than Life: Animals that are bigger than himself frighten him and he feels he could be killed just being in their presence. (( Currently Under Development wirh Roxii! XD)) Childhood: Adolesence: At seventeen Rainier moved to Oakleaf Canyon and began working here. He enjoyed his peaceful. Adulthood: At the age of twenty-two, rainier went back to France to visit his sister. Much to his dismay, she went to search for him when he left at seventeen. So he goes back to Oakleaf Canyon to live out the rest of his days. Money: 1,000G Personal: A picture he carries in his pocket, folded neatly. The girl in the picture is a mystery to all except him and he never answers when someone asks who she is. In this image he was seventeen.
