Kristoff, the Dragonlord-in-training, was evading those special lessons he called torture once again. He knew the lessons should be starting at any time and that the Dragonlord would be there, waiting for him, as well as any other people who would be a part of whatever today's lesson was on. Kristoff was now wandering through a relatively forgotten corridor of the Dragonhall. He did not want to be in lessons, sitting and listening, and having it drilled in to him what he would have to do one day when he took on the Dragonhall. Kristoff was not the kind of person who would want to have any part in that.
You are going tohave to take part in it one day. You are the successor of the Dragonlord, and if you do not learn, you could lead this Hall into ruin, Knax said to his bonded.
Kris sighed.
I never asked to be chosen for this 'honor'. If I could have, I'd spend my life enjoying my time with you, and moving to another Hall, farther away from the King and all of these politics here. But no, they had to brand me the next Dragonlord..., Kris responded.
You will lead well, you can if you look inside yourself and find that spark. Perhaps I should call Lelaina to come talk to you, Knax responded.
No! I don't need her to come around right now... Besides, its not like she cares much for my fate. She's probably busy with her own lessons anyhow... he responded, a bit defensive on the subject of the Sapphirerider who had won his affections.

So Kris continued to walk through the empty hallway, his magic spread so that he could sense if anyone who might have bent sent to find him and drag him away to lessons was in the area.

Instead of going on his quest to find a new partner Ramza was being sent to drag some kid to his lessons... And better yet someone that was suppose to be the next Dragon Lord. Mentally he cursed this other guy and person that sent him on this job to start with.

"Why do I have to waste my time babysitting someone when I should be in the mountains..." Ramza thought as his armor quit shining in the sun. He was now in the Hall and his hand was on his sword Ragnarök, resting like he was a nobleman. But he wasn't... Instead he was another soldier that just happened to be highly skilled and with a dead dragon. So entering the Hall he began to walk down a corridor following the pulse of another warrior.

"Kirstoff I know your in here... Get out here or I'll be forced to drag you out! I'm not wasting my day chasing you!" He ordered in a tone that he hadn't felt in a really long time. It felt powerful and his own magic swirled around him... If this kid wanted to do this the hard way he was willing to give the young lord a lesson he would never forgot.

Kristoff had thought he was in the clear, safe from being found unless he wanted to be. It hadn't been hard to find an old and abandoned corridor of barracks from the days when the Hall had been fuller. Either that or these barracks had just been forgotten when bigger and better accomodations had been constructed.
But his magical guards were sent off with a rather loud whistling in his ears that signalled someone, probably looking for him, had entered into the general vicinity of where he now stood.
So they have managed to found someone smart to come get me? he said, amused to Knax.
I wouldn't cross them too far if I were you. Its Ramza, of the fallen Ragnaros. He won't take your silly pranks for long, Knax warned.
We'll see, Kristoff responded.

Kristoff smirked slightly. He wasn't a kid, which is what this man was treating him like. He was nineteen, a full Dragonwarrior, and had been for three years. It irked him to be treated like a child of five or six who was hiding from a bath. Lessons, especially ones he was being forced to take after he'd already completed his 'Warrior training, were very different cases indeed.
Kristoff ducked into another shorter hallway, away from the man following him, after using his magic to call forth a mess of think vines to cover up the hallway. It paid to be a first rank mage at times like these.
Let's see him get through that, Kristoff said to Knax.
Where do you plan on going? Knax asked.
Why I coming to you of course? A short flight should keep away most of our problems, Kristoff responded.
You might be caught by then...
Not if I play my cards right, and if you meet me outside a few corridors away, he responded.
I guess,

Ramza gave a sigh as he realized the younger warrior was going to play games with him. This was not a game he wanted to play because he did have better things to do. Now was the chase and he was going to show this punk just how far their skill level was from each other.

"Fine... I guess this is the hard way!" With that he focused onto the other warrior and followed into the hallway that was overcrowded with what appeared to be vines. Childs play really because he drew his sword from its sheath and with a slash the hallway filled with a howling sound. Then the vines were ripped from the wall by the air pressure that came from a warrior that excelled in its manipulation. His sword was resheath and he gave chase again tearing down the hall after the guy that he had been order to bring along.

"Kristoff I'm going to bring you back in a mess if you don't cooperate. I don't have time for this mess!" He ordered again following the movement of the magic. His own movements were augmented by his wind that was pushing him forward making him faster than before.

Kristoff heard the other Warriors yelled and wasn't impressed by them. Of course he wasn't going to go the easy way. Of course this other warrior, Ramza he'd heard the name from Knax, was going to have to work if he wanted to bring him in to the chambers of the Dragonlord to be taught. There was no easy thing about it. Kristoff was a first ranked mage with quite a bit of magic and training stowed behind that. Even if the other Warrior was trained, sure enough Kristoff could give him hell before he was captured. If he was, if he could just make it to Knax he'd be safe.
Of course I'm not going to do this the easy way. If I was you wouldn't be chasing me through the Hall, I'd be sitting in the Dragonlord's office like a good little student. Kristoff bespoke using his own grip on mindspeak, the other Warrior.

His first wall of defense was ripped through easier than he would have liked. But he still had magic up his sleeve, and he still had Knax. Not to mention a rather formidable blade and dueling skills should he need them.
You can still create pretty good illusions, right? Kris asked the Ruby.
Yes he responded
Good. 'Cause I may need one of me soon, Kris responded.

Kris could sense the other warrior closing in, as he had magically manipulated himself to move faster. He didn't have to do anything necessarily other than play his cards right for the moment and he'd make it to Knax. But he had to think of some good enough magic to use first.
Desperate for something, he called forth on the same spell he'd used before, calling forth a rather large mess of green vines behind him, before enhancing the fire in the torches lining the wall of the hallway. The larger flames promptly caught the vines on fire, and they began to burn, creating quite an obstacle.
Kris kept running, gently modifying air resistance around him by means of magic in hopes of reaching Knax faster.
Know where I am?
Yes
Can you get somewhere near it?
I'll try
Alright

Kris ducked down another hallway, heading towards the outer edges of the building where he'd have more of a chance of reaching the Ruby, who could atleast keep the other warrior from flaying him alive.

Ramza scowled a little at the idea of chasing this punk the entire time. He wanted out of this Dragon hall and on the road to regaining his Dragonwarrior rank. And here he was chasing someone that had a lot more raw ability than he did. But upon reaching the hall with the flaming vines he gave an irritated sigh.

"I really don't want to be doing this right now... If you really were this good then running from me would be a waste. You could obviously take me on with your ability and best me in combat. Not make me play catch..." He gave a sigh and drew his blade once more. This time he felt magic gather around him and surround the blade like an invisible edge.

"Vorpal Twister..." He said the incantation as the edge like wind was released with a slash cutting apart the walls to both sides of him and firing forward shredding all in its path until hitting the end of the hall with a small explosion. The walls around him shook from his spell and he took off again towards the guy running away. This time his sword was out and a bead of sweat was running down his face. He had forgotten that he had lost a good chunk of his magic pool when his dragon died and that spell had drained him a bit. But he continued on towards his goal and finally emerged from the building to the outside and into the courtyard.

Kristoff didn't stop running at the prospect of gaining more ground and getting out of the building. Once he was free of the confined halls, he could reach Knax and hopefully be free of some problems he was faced with by combatting someone who had been in the Hall (as a Warrior) for more years than he had. Kristoff wasn't about to pretend it would be easy to combat him face to face, and thus he wanted the companionship and help of the Ruby he rode behind him if he had to.

"Well, you could always abandon this little escapade and go on with your day. Make life a lot easier on you. For nine years I've been set through these lessons, when they know very well I have little desire to be Dragonlord. And the only reason I run is to prove it takes a lot more than one warrior to combat me in a battle as such, and that I think I've learned enough to warrant atleast a month or two free of these lessons, or torture more they are." Kristoff responded.
"You make me sound like a four year old child. I'm nineteen. Perhaps I'd be more cooperative if you treated me befitting my age, if not by my apparent status here," he added.

Kristoff was quite relieved by the opening of the Courtyard, once out there, he allowed himself to stop running, his chest heaving from running full speed down a good trek of the hallways in North Hall. The man who chased him was catching up, and had reached the courtyard now. Kristoff had his hand upon his blade, ready to draw it should it be needed.
Knax, I'm in an open courtyard now. Can you get here by any chance? Soon, I might add, or you might find me with a good chunk or two gone, Kris said in rather grim humor.
On my way. Give me but a few moments and I'll be there, he said.

"Perhaps this will show the Dragonlord I can take care of myself, and that I've learned quite a bit in my nine years," Kris said aloud, though he didn't much care if Ramza heard or not.

"And you will learn Kristoff that when given an order you must obey. That is apart of being a Dragonwarrior too... You must do things you normally wouldn't want to do all for the sake of the King. If you can't accept that then you should give up and go home because you will be nothing more than a kid. My orders were to bring you in and unlike you I will complete the task giving to me even if I have to drag myself through dragonfire." He said this as he faced the younger warrior with both men drawing their blades. They were in the opening of the courtyard and the perfect place to duel in his opinion but he had no intention of hurting this kid. He just wanted to show that the guy was acting childish in defying the orders.

"So if you want to keep running from your duties then your going to have to show me that your not a kid. Because from what I see your just a scared little punk that hides behind his dragon to come save him. Now I'll show you what a true Warrior is capable off." Ramza took off the his notion of being nice as the dirt around him whipped up in the vortex around him. His dragon might have been dead but he had learned a lot from that hot headed twister maker. His magic wasn't meant to be flashy... It was meant to kill and he wasn't playing around anymore.

"I will follow orders when people stop using it as an excuse to pull me in six different directions and to the edges of my abilities just to see what I'm made of," Kristoff said.
"Dragonwarriors my age have a rest period every day, to clear their mind and regroup themselves, whereas mine goes to these sessions," he said in response.
"And go home? You're looking at my home. This has been where I lived from the time I was born. And I do not give up," Kristoff said, growing slightly angered by the Warrior's comments.
Kristoff drew his blade from its sheath, ready to defend more than attack. He had no intention of hurting or going after the warrior. He could come to him. That would allow him time to think, not to mention he would be less likely to do anything stupid. He didn't have to prove anything to this man, but if he could fight him off it might prove he had learned something from the long and gruelling training sessions put on by various people from the Hall.

"I'm not a kid," Kristoff said and rather sharp edge to his voice.
"I am nineteen and a Dragonwarrior. And last I checked, I'm not hiding behind my dragon," Kristoff said.
Though Knax appeared he landed several feet behind Kristoff.
"But what Dragonwarrior fights without his dragon by his side?" Kristoff asked and added.
Kristoff watched the other Warrior, watching the Vortex.
Any idea of a defensive spell? he asked.
Not right this second, maybe I should call Lelaina, Knax said.
No! I have a feeling this isn't going to go all too well and that's the last thing I need or want her to see, Kris responded.
Kristoff watched, blade drawn.
Perhaps an illusion would be good? he asked.
I can give it more substance if you create it,
So Kristoff focused on making an illusion of himself, aided by Knax in making it seem more life-like so that Ramza might be confused by it.

"That just means your weak. If you can't take the pressure then you don't deserve to be Dragon Lord." He bite those words hard because he had fought and trained since being bonded to take that position by force if necessary. And now that he didn't have a dragon it was going to some little punk that obviously didn't want it. This was more infuriating than anything he had dealt with before and for a second he lost sight of going easy on the kid.

Sword in hand he charged letting wind radiate from him like sickles as he went after the figure he knew what real. The illusion had after all just been made and he had watched so he wouldn't have confused them this early. Plus if the illusion came near him it would just be cause in the furious emotions that were spinning around him. His anger was translating to magic and if he had been with Ragnaros again he could have easily created a severe lightning storm now. Instead his powers had been cut but anything that came near him now would suffer gashs from the blade like wind.

"Now au guard!" He gave side step after aproaching and gave a slash about waist high from the side he he stepped into. The attack was meant to go straight through and behind it was a small force of air pressure to increase the speed of his strike as well as the strength of it.

"I am not weak!" Kristoff shouted back, anger flaring for a moment. He was not weak. He was being tested to his limits on purpose to expand his horizons, and he had quite a large amount of skill. He didn't need some ex-DragonWarrior telling him he was weak and didn't deserve the position he was in!
This man, Ramza, wanted to be Dragonlord. I don't think he knew you have been being trained for years for it, Knax commented.
Well, he's going to have to deal with the fact that I will be Dragonlord some day, and he doesn't even have a dragon at the moment! Kristoff responded.
Be careful, Knax commented.
Kristoff nodded slightly. He knew the Ruby was only one small injury away from calling someone, most like Lelaina to come and find him and hopefully put a stop to the fight.

Kristoff watched the warrior charge, now having a perfectly good illusion of himself only but a few feet away. Now he just needed to cause enough confusion that Ramza wouldn't be able to tell which was the illusion and which was the real Kris. He could tell the other warrior was angry by the strong magic being conjured. The wind could very well cut him to shreds if he wasn't careful in how he fought the older warrior.
Kristoff focused his magic and caused the courtyard to brighten, making it harder for those not used to such bright light to see. Hopefully, as he'd been using his control over Light for years, it would hinder the other Warrior and allow him some leeway and manuevering room.

Kristoff brought his blade down to clash with the other, though he had to use quite a bit of strength to keep the blade away from his side. Using the clash to his advantage, Kristoff called forth magic once more to cause a rather bright and sudden flash, near blinding to anyone who hadn't known of its coming or who wasn't used to it.
Knax's form disappeared in the light, his power over the element taking its gifts. Kris used it as an advantage to move away from the Warrior and to hopefully get his illusion-confusion started.
Maybe we should call Lelaina soon.., Kris said. Not yet though.

A flash of light dazzled Ramza slightly as he pulled back a bit creating a barrier between himself and the kid. It only took few seconds before he could see again even if it was speckled with small white orbs. But he was ready and his fingers ran down the blade of his precious sword. Several runes light up on it and the wind picked up around him creating a howl in the enclosed courtyard.

"You are weak and even if my dragon is dead I still control his raging spirit!" Ramza had snapped under the pressure and his eyes seemed to fill with storms. Electricity leaped from his body onto the blade, then it seemed to jump everywhere around him. He couldn't help himself anymore as the kid now turned into those riders from Pern, mocking him over his dead partner.

"No one will laugh at me anymore..." He muttered as he used an invisible blade to cut through the illusion he had thought was his target. When the magic cut through the other spell he turned on the other figure letting another gust blow past him at the kid. This one was filling with slicing wind to shred Kristoff clothes and skin. And behind it the possessed Ramza carrying his electrostatic sword to cut Kristoff in half. If his dragon got in the way he was going to shred the fragile membrane in its wings so that it wouldn't interfere. They shouldn't have picked him for this mission... He had a short temper and should have known he would do this. If he did hurt this kid then he would never be allowed back into the hall again... This would probably be his last night here.

Kristoff was glad that his spell had work, and had momentarily dazed the other warrior. It gave him a moment to regroup himself, and not to get worked up so that he wasn't thinking. If he lost his head he was dead. And he couldn't let that happen. He wasn't about to be killed now over something so trivial as not attending a lesson. Kris could tell when the other Warrior could see straight again because the wind picked up. Now he had to be ready for anything again.

"I am not weak!" Kristoff responded again. He supposed he should back up the statement by showing he was not weak, that he would withstand this attack. The other Warrior seemed to be possessed by something now, as his powers were growing. They were growing insanely, and Kristoff wondered how much longer he would be able to dodge before something hit him. And he had a sickening feeling whatever hit him would surely mean death, whether right then or what happened afterwards.
If he harms you I'll kill him..., Knax responded, roaring at the man across from them.

The illusion was gone. He'd ripped through it with ease. Great, now he had no distraction or confusion, and he didn't have the time to try and make another one. Atleast that hadn't been him though. He was glad of that.
Kristoff knew the winds would be turned towards him, and so he pulled a great chunk of the earth in front of him upwards, a temporary breaker between he and the winds that would surely cut him up pretty good.
He still had to worry about the sword. Quick work and rather desperate measures he managed to call forth a concentrated beam of light, enough to atleast knock back the Warrior a few feet, before using another flash of light to cover movements away further. He wasn't sure how much longer he was going to last. He had been quite well combat trained though, and so if he could branch into control of the other person's element, he might be able to do something. Thankfully Kristoff could reach into other elements for help.

Turning his edge Ramza sliced through the light beam with his enchanted sword. But during the next light attack Kyle had took to the air. With the wind to his feet he lifted up almost 20 feet into the air before spinning his sword in the air. Lightning gathered around him and with a slash he brought series of strikes from the sky to cover the courtyard.

"DIE!" He screamed as the lightning was followed by another blast of wind the covered the courtyard to injure everything it touched. He was though reaching his limit and this probably wouldn't last for much longer. But he had made up his mind to disappear before then though. This was his last attack before he left the hall to go on his own journey. He wanted this kid to know that he had a lot more to learn before he was ever ready to become Dragon Lord.

Kristoff watched as Ramza took off in to the air using his powers over the wind. Kristoff could only wonder what was going to come of this, but he used to opportunity to move close to Knaxarrus, as the Ruby dragon growled at the warrior now seeming to ready to stage his final attack. Kris wasn't even sure he could block any attacks as he hadn't completely mastered any sort of shielding unless he brought the earth up around them in a dome. It would take too long. He'd have to try a shield of some kind.
I'm going to need your help to cover us, Kris said to the dragon urgently.

Kristoff and Knax were lucky enough to miss the lightning, but the oncoming razor sharp winds would prove a problem. Kristoff tapped into his magic.
NOW!! he shouted as he and Knax both tried to shield them from the downcoming winds.
While it worked for the most part, a stray bit of wing got throught before the shield closed completely, gashing Kristoff in the leg, and Knax in the forelimb.
The Ruby roared, and Kristoff leaned against the Ruby, hoping the shield would hold until he was finished. His leg hurt horribly now.
