'Well, things can't be all that worse now.. Can it?'

Aria spoke quietly in her mind as she sniffed the air, catching the scent of food being cooked in surely what would be the dining area. She had been starving since the moment she arrived, yet she remained stubborn to all of the 'folks who asked if she would like to be escorted toward the dining facilities whenever her stomach growled and they were close enough to hear it.

'Shards, hopefully the cooks wouldn't mind if I take some food and just leave them be..'

By now, the smell of the delicious foods were making Aria's mouth water just slightly, but it was the fact that the smell was getting stronger that made the small woman practically jump with joy as she spotted the dining area and almost all but ran toward the welcoming doorway.

Pausing just briefly, Aria, calmed her nerves just a bit before she stepped inside and made her way quietly, and surely soundly, toward the food and picked up a plate, trying to keep the clinking of them to a minimum. When she had her plate between her hands, she smiled to herself at her vicorty and started toward the food, picking up random fruits and rolls, and meat and tubers. Whatever was available, she piled up upon her plate until she deemed that it would keep her satisfied until the next day.

'Eh, what's to stop me from not being able to eat all I want?'

At this time, Aria was focusing upon her plate trying to keep the food well balanced so as to not cause the cooks or drudges any problem on having to clean up. Once she had traveled toward the further back, allowing the riders and any of the other 'folks their room until she got to know them better, and settled down. Another smile creeping up upon Aria's almost childish face. This was obviously too easy for her, and even so, it wasn't much of a thought as Aria sat herself down comfortably in the chair and just stared at her meal before picking up a fruit and taking a big bite out of it. Smiling into the bite and pulling the fruit away, she happily chewed on the food in her mouth and swallowed. It wasn't long until she blinked once... twice... and then once more until she figured out as to what she was missing out of her meal. Klah.

Sighing heavily to herself, though keeping herself hopefully undistracting toward everyone else, Aria sat her fruit back down onto the plate and scooted her chair backwards, standing up shortly and pushing the chair back under the table. Eyeing the food carefully, Aria walked off toward the kitchen area and made herself some klah, sweetened to her liking and began heading back toward her table.

Just as Aria was within ten feet of her table, her left foot got stubbed on a chair leg and down went Aria, klah and anything else she may have had on her. After the impact of Aria to floor, klah having spelt all over her, the young woman rolled over on her back and just seemed to remain sprawled on the floor, oblivious to some people laughing and some pointing and debating as to what they should do. Obviously Aria didn't want to make any more of a scene, so she remained on the floor, face up, staring at the ceiling, debating within herself as to what she should do next.

Kelynan, rider of Blue Cahirth, and occasionally inquirer into interesting matters for the Weyrleaders, was walking through the Lower Caverns, balancing a full mug of klah in one hand and a plate of food in the other.
She had just returned from official Business--Cahirth did not approve of her involvements outside of the Weyr, but he did not want her to do anything stupid, so he was forced to follow her around.
She suspected that her dragon didn't really care. After all, his grumblings had decreased in the Turn or two that they'd been together, and now that he was big enough that he could fly her about and actually keep an eye on her, he was much happier. When he'd been newly hatched, she had tried to stay in the Weyr as much as possible, but now she was relieved to be back as the unofficial Information Gatherer.

Information gathering was hungry work. She had reported to the Weyrwoman moments before, and escaped by virtue of the fact that her stomach was growling. Now, she was looking forward to eating.
A lot.
However, Kel was startled to discover that her path was impeded by a girl. Lying on the floor. Lying on the floor in a puddle of klah.
She tilted her head to one side, studying her curiously, and then set her plate and mug on the nearest table so that she could fold her arms across her chest and stare down at her.

"Are you alright?" she asked the girl politely. After a moments consideration, Kel decided that she should offer her her hand. It seemed like the sensible thing to do.
She didn't know her, which was out of the ordinary, and so she had ulterior motives: she intended to figure out who she was, and what she was doing in the weyr.
Simple stuff, of course.
"Here." She picked up the shards of broken klah mug. "I can help you, if you like."
Nobody else seemed to be doing anything useful, so she sent a scowl in their directions. It was hardly right to just stand there gaping at the poor girl, she reasoned, when she was obviously...well, lying flat on the floor. She conveniently overlooked the fact that she had done the same.
