((My brain hurts too. And my tummy. sad.gif))

Lotus nodded, and ate the rest of her food without much fuss. She did'nt want to draw bucketloads of attention to herself so she decided to be quiet, but being too queiet would make her more obvious, so she just tried to blend in.
Sh'dar probably saw her and wondered what she was doing but if he did he did'nt complain.
Eventually Lotus had an empty bowl, which she just stared at for a while. She did'nt quite know what to do with it.
"Erm Sh'dar... do we take the bowls to be washed up somewhere, or do we eat them or something to save recources?"
She did'nt realise quite how silly she had sounded till the words where already out. Her cheeks went a shade of scarlet and she grimaced.
"That was stupid of me was'nt it..." she wondered aloud. Her cheeks went an even depper shade of pink, and she closed her ears to the sound around her. It was times like this when she wanted the ground to open up and shallow her.

((Short post. Sorry. Brainache.))

((Aw...hope you're feeling better))

Sh'dar finished eating very quickly--he was a guy, of course, so that was normal. However, once he'd finished, he sat quietly and politely to wait for Lotus to finish at her own pace.
He didn't hurry her--just waited. Quietness in a Weyr was not attention grabbing-rather the opposite. If you didn't say anything, people simply didn't realize that you were there.
"We take them to be washed," he said, maintaining his straight face with difficulty. "This sort of clay would not do very well in your stomach. I suspect that it could cause serious problems, in any case."
To his credit, he did not laugh or even crack a smile. He didn't want to scare her off, or anything.

Besides, knowing Lotus, she probably knew exactly how silly it had sounded. He was proved correct in this by the following brilliant flush of her cheeks.
"Well, it was a logical question considering that you're new to the Weyr. The bowls might have been made of something edible. It would be sensible...Save a sharding lot of time with washing..." He stood, offered a hand to help her rise, then picked up the two bowls and empty mugs.
"Here. Let's go give them to the Headwoman. She'll deal with them." He nodded to the woman in question. "The Lower Caverns are her domain. She's in charge of everything here."

Lotus nodded and took her bowl from Sh'dar and followed him to get the bowls washed up. It seemed like a maze to get to where they were meant to go. Once that was done and dusted they found the headwoman and Lotus bit her lip in nervousness. She did'nt know what to say, she just stood like a nervous child in Sh'dar's shadow, and waited to be adreessed by the headwoman herself.
