Battling in the Mintel Region is streamlined compared to some other RPGs. All battles are watched by a moderator or administrator whose job is to oversee the battles. Each pokemon has a certain amount of HP, and your job is to wear down the foe using attacks. Trainers take turns attacking, and the amount of HP lost each turn is based on how clever your strategy, how powerful your pokemon, and how powerful your attack is. You also have the option of dodging a move, however dodging too much will be considered godmoding, which may make a referee step in.
Referees post once all trainers have taken their turns and posts the results. Things such as RP skill, strategy, and stats are all taken into account to see which moves hit and which moves miss. If a moderator is already involved in the battle, he can incorporate this into his RP posts, though abusing this will also be considered godmoding. Because of this, referees will monitored to see how objective they are. If it's a battle between two Player Characters and not between a Player and an NPC, another referee will have to step in.
Experience is earned at the end of the battle based on the strength of the foe and your skill at roleplaying.
