Oooh ooh oooh! I felt we needed a bit more traffic in the Girls section. And nobody seems to want to discuss Maggie Smith (shame, really), so I thought Kidman might spark more interest. And she's over thirty so woohah.

Here are a few pictures I really like.

This one's nice.

I liked this scene.

Wowza. For real.

Too pretentious? Really? I mean, you don't have to like every person on here (that's what this thread is for), but that's surprising. Most people I know seem to like her. I don't really know much about her as a person but as an actress, she has impressed me many times.

She seems nice enough, to me! She's very talented.. The Others was a good move for her, I think!

I can't really think of anything she's done that stands out, though.

I have this opinion that divorcing from Tom Cruise ruined a bit Nicole. I mean that before she seemed always happy, and then after the divorce she has always had some ice eyes, and her brows are frowning all the time.
I really appreciated her in Far and Away (one of my fav movies... eheheh obviously, 'cos I love Tom Cruise!) and she was so natural in that.
The Others was a stunning movie.
Moulin Rouge too is in my list of favourite movies. I keep asking why they didn't award her with the Oscar for the role of Satine.

But after that:
The Birthday Girl is stupid.
The Hours is disgraceful. I didn't like it at all. And Nicole's is not the main character, so why they gave her an Oscar for that? In my opinion I wasted my money going to see The Hours.
The Human Stain: I went to watch it only because of Gary Sinise (you know... wub.gif). Horrid movie. Nicole and Anthony Hopking have sex and look like two wooden chops.
Dogville: absurd movie, with an improbable ending. I only enjoyed Paul Bettany (he's so handsome).
Cold Mountain: a ramblin love story. Nicole is too old for her role and always frowning.
The Stepford Wives: it's a bit stoopid, but I liked it. Nicole is quite good in it.

I hope she'll get better and better, dismissing that frowning look.

I haven't really noticed her frowning more often; I'll have to look for it.

I didn't see The Hours but I want to see Cold Mountain since I had to read the book for class (even though it was depressing). I think she's got quite a bit of talent; I mean look at Tom Cruise - he made Vanilla Sky and that was a piece of crap movie if I've ever seen one! So it's not like he's doing that much better.

Though The Last Samurai was pretty cool. wink.gif

Oh, I adore Vanilla Sky!!! I'm not much of a Cruise fan, but I think you need to be a complete sap to enjoy that movie lol... luckily for me! It was strange, but I found it had something to say. I loved The Last Samurai too (bawled my eyes out, which probably won't surprise you, haha). I love those Japanese blossoms!

For me Nicole is a bit like Julia Roberts. A very acclaimed actress and very talented, but none of their roles really appeal to me. Moulin Rouge was melodramatic to the point of sickening, I couldn't stand to watch it, in all honesty! Musicals, bleugh!

Oh, I love Julia Roberts. I went even to see Mona Lisa Smile wink.gif

I never watched Vanilla Sky, but I watched the Spanish movie (to which Vanilla Sky is a remake of), entitled Abre lo ojos (Open your eyes) which was quite good.

I'm a major Tom Cruise fan wub.gif

Abre los ojos was on tv here recently. I planned to watch it but only remembered as it was up to the scene where they go to the club and Sofia's being all standoffish. My tv was fuzzy too, so I didn't watch it until the end. It seems very similar to the remake, from what I saw, but they say the original is much better!

But getting back on topic, To Die For was played as the midday movie just the other day here. I saw the last half and I thought it was a bit... dumb really. I know it's supposed to be black humour, and some of it was funny, but it didn't seem to go anywhere. aybe I needed to watch the start.

But the cool thing was, Joaquin Phoenix was in it!! smile.gif

To Die For...I forget what the premise for that movie was but I remember not wanting to see it.

I like her acting in general, though I don't know if I like each individual movie. Eh.

And Joaquin Phoenix is HOT. Just had to say that. wub.gif
