Good Morning, Sierra City - this is today's news, and this is Shane McBarry reading it. The cleanup continues at the site of the devastating terrorist attack on Las Vegas; there continue to be no survivors. The head of the Homeland Security Force, General George G. Clayborne, repeated his determination to bring the culprits to justice. Local socialite Carla Knight is still being held by the HSF over her known involvement with the suspect Faolan Doyle; her security officer, Jake McGurp, is still being sought for questioning, though football star 'Big Mac' MacManus has now been cleared of any connection, and released. It's hoped he will be able to take part in Saturday's game against the Wolverines. Police warn that if any member of the public sees any of the wanted men, Faolan Doyle, Hao Lo, Jake McGurp, or Jacques de Poitou, they should on no account tackle them themselves, but should contact the authorities immediately.
On a lighter note, citizenship ceremonies were held today to welcome new residents of Sierra City, in the form of thirty refugees from the former Soviet Union. Viewers may remember the reports of their epic journey across the Bering Sea after sectarian violence destroyed their home, a small silver mining town on the borders of Siberia. Mayor Lundquist presented them with a specially minted silver dollar each, and said she is sure they will be a valuable addition to our community

Good morning, Sierra City, this is Shane McBarry with today's news. City authorities are still cleaning up after yesterday's disastrous freak storm which left the northern districts flooded and caused electrical blackouts all over town. Power was restored to most areas by last night, but this morning parts of Carson are still without power, and Sausalito has been experiencing random short blackouts; power company officials say this is due to damage done to the generating stations during the storm, and they are working flat out to right things. Police say they belive Hector Farruco, now wanted for no less than eleven murders, may have left Sierra City under cover of the storm, and have issued state-wide red alerts. Farruco is said to be completely psychotic and extremely dangerous; citizens are warned not to approach him but to call the authorities if they see him. He may be travelling with his mother, Corazon Farruco, who has not been seen since her son ran amok at Sausalito Kindergarten. The funerals of the three children killed by the former teacher are being held today at Our Lady and St Camillus Cathedral in the city centre. Large crowds are expected to attend, and the funeral service is being broadcast over screens set up in the adjoining Marian Gardens.
Police locally have issued a missing persons alert for Mrs Angela Carney, a resident of the Desert Springs Retirement Castle in Sausalito. Mrs Carney left the home before the storm yesterday to visit a friend in hospital, and did not return. The manager of the home, Mrs Ethel Perkins, says that Mrs Carney is a bright and active person, who would not have gotten lost or confused; fears are high that she may have been injured or killed in the storm. Mrs Carney is described as a small, slender native American, 65 years of age, with white hair and brown eyes; she was last seen wearing a traditional long black skirt, a white blouse covered by an ethnic shawl with Navajo-style designs, and a black headscarf.
Police are still withholding the identity of the dead man found near the Sierra City Football Stadium yesterday, until his family can be informed. The cause of death has not been announced, but the police say foul play must not be ruled out.
And now here's Enrique with the sports news...

Good morning, Sierra City, this is today's news and this is Shane McBarry reading it. The grand opening of the Oasis Casino Hotel complex last night was marred by demonstrations from groups concerned that it will have a damaging impact on the city and the environment. The Director of the Sierra City Observatory and Planetarium, Professor Emmanuel Marques, said: 'Our city has always had the lowest levels of light pollution of any city of comparable size in the United States, but with these casinos and hotels we will soon be as bad as Las Vegas was. It will destroy astronomy here.' Brad Pitt and Susan Sarandon were on hand to lead a delegation from the eco-watchdog movement; but most of the attention went to the Elvis Gang, a group of protestors who dressed up as the King to raise concerns about terrorism and organised crime. There were seventeen arrests and eleven people have been charged with various offences including assault on a police officer. Mayor Lundquist spoke out against the protests this morning, saying 'These extremists are only doing harm to our city and its future by their violent and unreasonable behaviour. We have investigated all the areas of concern thoroughly, and can assure residents that we have taken steps to minimise the environmental impact, including regulating to limit the lighting allowed to these businesses. Our police force has been increased in size and we have set up a special anti-terrorism unit with the co-operation of the Homeland Security Force. Our city can only benefit from this wonderful opportunity.'
