THE ALTDORF TIMES The Youth shall Make Thee Sweat
BATED BREATH IN NOBLE HOUSES!
The birth of an heir to Von Gottfried line is imminent! The Baroness Von Gottfried has of last night been taken to her confinement with a staff of physicians, midwives, nurses, wet nurses, priests and priestesses of Shylla and Morr, and the two renowned dangerous animal handlers Seigfried and Roy (!).
The Noble Families of the Diamond of the Empire gather to wish the Lady health and happiness and to welcome the birth of the Heir Von Gottfried.
*Remember on the day of the birth, to purchase our celebratory special. Including a full lineage of the Von Gottfrieds.
YOUTH IMPRISSONED FOR THE MOTIVELESS SLAUGHTER OF DOCKLAND MAN.
Rohan Voltenmar of the Shanty will face the rest of his natural days for the murder of Wolfgang Herper, a dock worker. Voltenmar (14) attacked Herper(27) in the early hours of last weekend and violently beat his brains in with a small club after cutting his throat. Herper was intercepted by Sergeant Rudolph of the City Watch, and his men.
Voltenmar insists that he engaged the man who was trying to attack a Night Lady. He claims that his victim’s throat was already cut but readily admits to wounding by club. He claims however, that when distracted from the Night Lady Herper turned and attacked Voltenmar with his teeth and fists. Herper retaliated and felled the Dockerworker with several blows to the head.
According to Sergeant Rudolph, Voltenmar was hammering blows down onto the dead man even when the Watchmen intercepted eventually bringing him down using appropriate force.
Voltenmar will be imprisoned in the Nordgate Gaole later today. His properties and trappings if any are to be seized for the good of the Empire.

The Altdorf Times Three Tubes Shall Make The Frett
Death Hulks in return to the Reik.
Onlookers on the Southshaw docks were disturbed to see two of the city’s former floating prisons rise from their murky graves yesterday afternoon. The rotting galleons that housed Altdorf’s prisoners of war, traitors, murderers, rapists and ne’re do wells rose with all on board still animate within its hull. The Hulks attempted to make dock and would have succeeded had it not been for the timely intervention of the Guildmasters Guard and the Dockland Watch. Both groups were used to dealing with pirate gangs and smugglers and were stolid in the face of this adversary from beneath the Reik.
Captain Ingor Watt of the Dockland Watch stated;
“We were patrolling the Northbank, soulth of Sailmakers Yard when the first of the Hulks surfaced. The thing had no means of propulsion and the boys thought it was just adrift. That’s when we saw that it was still manned that the crew was smashing its way through the rotting timbers. That’s when we commandeered some oils and tar that had come from one of the other boats. The oil was tipped on the water and lit, and a few of the other boys lobbed barrels of tar onto the hulls. The water was well ablaze by the time the second Hulk surfaced and all we needed to do is make sure that one stayed burning. O’ course most of the bodies burned beyond motion, but a few did try and escape. The Guildsmasters Lads put paid to those with a few well placed musket shots.
Damn strange…but not the strangest thing I’ve seen today…….”
There are no further reports of disturbances from the Southshaw Docks.
The Dead Arise
A running battle broke out yesterday among the stones and mausoleums of the Grand Imperial Cemetery. Teams of MortGart and ReiksGart were called to quell a disturbance believed to have started in Paupers Passing, the area next to the Cathedral of Sigmar, designated to the burial of noteworthy commoners. Reports reach us stating that what was thought to be a skirmish between rival gangs of “sack-em-up men” turned out to be a blood letting that will haunt the mind of all who saw it…and survived.
Witnesses claim that bodies of the recently dead pulled themselves from the earth and attacked the Temple Platz troops. Further reports suggest that the watchmen were over run as the corpses were fast and indicate a level of intelligence and tactical thinking that went beyond what these veteran men at arms were to experience.
Unsubstantiated reports claim the battle culminated with a showdown between a Dandy archer a Dwarven Troll Slayer and a strange and violent wraithlike creature. Rumours indicate that the Trollslayer fell to the Undead whilst the Dandy made it away on his toes.
Whilst it is believed that some of the cemetery undead made it into the streets of the city, this is unproven. The watch is on full patrol and a curfew between sundown and sunup is to be enforced from today.
Arson Attack on Carnival claims 40 lives.
Yesterday evening the Lagerplatz was ablaze and the new Sylvanian Travelling Carnival was raised to the ground on its opening night. Both entertainers and their paying audience were killed or injured in the fire . Drinkers at the Bucking Cock Inn and the Ogres Belly claim to have seen unnamed men break hogsheads of liquid, possibly lamp oil, and let it spill across the Platz and underneath the canvasses of the Carnival Tents.
It is unknown whether or not the ensuing blaze was the cause of a deliberate action or the result of a random ember.
Further, and yet unsubstantiated claims, report that hidden marksmen shot and killed civilians and entertainers as they attempted their escape.

Oh, Magnus - I know you wanted me to acquire you a flower to lay on your grave, but something has occurred to me. Several things actually. 1, it probably is classed as theft or criminal damage to take flowers from the Imperial Gardens, and I could do without getting busted for anything else right now; 2, there's a curfew and we won't be able to get a carriage or to get into the Ulrician cemetary until the morning (and there's the whole illegal thing again); and 3, the streets will be swarming with undead, which I know is no big deal to you, but I'm really not very well at the moment and would probably die if a small child poked me with a stick. Could we possibly just rise early (your kind of early, that is, not mine, which is within an hour of noon), buy a flower and go when it's legal? Robin
