Perhaps not what you might expect, I recently perused a book catalogue and noticed that there are certain words which forebode terrible things when they appear in the blurb for any book. The same applies to other things, but I'm sticking with books for now. Here's my list of certain to be crap words in a book description - part 1.

Coming of age.
Glitzy.
Frothy.
Diet.
Jamie Oliver.
Revealing.
Raw.

Got any of your own to share?

Part 2 - any comparison to past authors is inevitably a sign they are derivative, dull and deeply unoriginal. As in: the new Stephen King! The new J R R Tolkien!
