Alecto was mad and needed a drink. Badly. Plus, she could tell that many gods came here. So she stepped up to the bar and ordered a tequila. She downed it quickly and then ordered something to drink slower, the largest size of Guinness they had.

She sipped on her beer and thought about the rumors that the gods were starting to question why they were no longer gods. She smirked. Little did they know that she was the cause of it, well her and her sisters. She had come here to make sure they stayed as they were.

Aggie served the women who stood before her and tried not to be too obvious in her observations. The woman certainly looked as if she was having a bad day, but some people just didn't appreciate a stranger nosing in on their personal business.

Aggie loved to make conversation with her customers, but occasionally, you got the bigoted fools who honestly believed her only position in life was to serve them alcohol. They seriously didn't realise that Aggie did this by choice, and there was absolutely no law that said she had to serve people like that. But serve them she did. She just didn't have to like them.

"One of those days, huh?" Aggie spoke politely and with a smile from behind her side of the bar. She supposed there was no way of knowing if this woman was going to be one of 'those' people until she actually spoke to her.

Alecto looked up at the woman in front of her. She was a mortal. So she smiled politely. "You might say that." She looked around at the bar. "Is there any particular reason why you chose the name 'Heavenly Host'?"

Aggie returned the polite smile, grateful that the woman hadn't just told her to keep her nose out of other people's business.

As the woman asked about the pubs name, Aggie smiled fondly. She loved the pub like other people loved their children. It was her baby; hers to care and nurture for.

"I didn't name it," she answered honestly. "It already had the name when I bought it, and it was so well known among the local clientele, I never had the heart to change it." Aggie smirked for a moment, before reaching for the chopping board and a lemon. "Though the thought has crossed my mind from time to time."

She quirked an eyebrow at this. "And what might you rename it?" She could smell the presence of gods but just not recent. She could tell that they frequented here. Maybe she should send a Furie here to scope it out.

As Aggie began slicing the lemon, she was thoughtful for a moment and then smiled and shrugged. "No idea really. I never get that far in my thinking," she replied.

"Like I said, everyone here knows it as The Heavenly Host, or just the Host, so I think changing it would just be a giant pain in the arse."

Dropping the sliced fruit into a nearby bowl, she looked at the woman and smirked. "Why, do you not like the name? Do you have a suggestion as to what I could call it instead?

Alecto shrugged like she didn't care. "I don't know what else it should be called. Has a certain charm to it." She considered asking the woman if she knew that there were gods in her bar but decided against it.

Aggie looked fondly around her bar. "It does, doesn't it," she agreed softly.

"Though I'll be honest, the only real reason I'd think about changing it is to stop the crazies from assuming I must be a religious nut." Aggie laughed, shrugged and shook her head a little.

"Just because I own a pub with a name like this, does that really mean I should be obsessed with religion?"

Alecto raised her eyebrow at the woman's speech about religion. "No, it shouldn't. Why did you buy it?" She considered following the religion idea but decided against it. She would find out more by asking her more subtle questions.

Aggie thought about it for a moment before answering.

"I don't know really," she began before rolling her eyes at her own stupidity. "I mean, I do know. It's just... hard to explain. I'd been a manager at a different pub, and decided I wanted my own place. You know, make my own decisions and what not. So I saved up, looked into it, and found The Host."

Aggie smiled fondly again as a mother might if thinking about a child's first day at school or an equally happy memory. "I just knew as soon as I saw it that this was the pub that I wanted to own." Returning her gaze to the previously troubled woman, Aggie shrugged. "I never looked back."

Alecto gave a wry smile. "So do you think that it was fate that brought you here...or something or someone else?" She looked at the mortal to see what she would say. This mortal might possibly be useful for information on the gods. She internally grinned evilly. Using mortals tends to be fun.

Aggie looked at the woman for a moment, and then smirked.

"I believe I make my own destiny," she replied easily. She'd never hesitated when it came to her beliefs, at least, not since her mother had died. "The chance of there actually being someone in control of these things is about as likely as you or I being a god."

Aggie laughed and shrugged. "I brought myself here, and I work damn hard to make sure I stay here. No one, and no other mystical being has anything to do with that."

Alecto had to grin to herself about the comment about her being a god. While she was not technically a god, she was pretty damn close to it. She wondered what the bartender's reaction would be if she told her what was going on. But she couldn't do it, though it certainly would be interesting to see her reaction. So she asked, "Any particularly interesting characters come here?" If the gods were here, there were bound to be stories about them. She had to admit, some of them were rather entertaining.

Aggie laughed and nodded. "Well, its a pub, so we get plenty of characters in here," she replied with a smile. "And lets be honest, after a few drinks, even the most boring of people can come out of their shells."

Grabbing another lemon she began slicing again.

"Are you thinking of becoming a regular customer?" Aggie asked with a chuckle. "Checking out the rest of the clientele before committing?"

Alecto grinned, "You could say that." She left her statement purposefully vague. it was so much fun messing with humans. Though she was hoping for more Furies to come. Had they not gotten her message? And how was Cortheus doing with her spying.

"Have you lived in London your whole life?" She wanted to know how long the gods might have been here.

Aggie finished with that lemon, placed the slices in the bowl and then reached for a lime.

"Yes," she told the customer. "Though I have moved around the city a little. I was raised not far from Camden Town," she explained cheerfully. "I love it here. I've never had the heart to leave the city."

Dropping the segments of green fruit into the bowl next to the lemon, she shrugged. "I know some people get bored of living in the same place the whole time, but not me."

Nodding and smiling politely as a customer walked past the bar to leave the pub, Aggie looked back to the woman in front of her. It was almost as if she was fishing for some sort of information. Then again, it could just be that she enjoyed finding out about other people.

"What about you? How long have you been in London?"

Alecto frowned internally. This wasn't going anywhere. She could tell that the gods had been here. Though who, how many, when, and how often, she couldn't tell. Not many people knew that everyone, mortals, Furies, and gods, had a certain smell and aura that was unique to their kind.

In response to the woman's question, she said, "I can't stay in one place at a time. I'm fairly new here." She thought carefully about what to say. "You never did answer my question about interesting customers that I might need to look for, if I start going here regularly." She wished this mortal would get to the point. She was this close to losing her temper with her.

Aggie laughed and shrugged again, not sure why they'd returned to this particular subject.

"It's a pub," she said simply. "We get all sorts of characters in here. Some are funny, some are moody, some just want a drink to forget their day." She smirked at the woman in front of her. "Some just want to know about everyone else."

She wondered if the woman's questions were a roundabout way of asking something else. Well, it had to be worth a shot.

"Is there someone in particular you're hoping I can say drinks in here?"

Alecto considered the woman's question. Of course she wanted to know about someones in particular but she couldn't say that she was looking for the gods of ancient times. But then again, she didn't know which ones were here. So she answered, "Oh, no one in particular. Just wanted to know what sort of people came here."

She realized that this wasn't going anywhere. But she would be back later. So she finished her drink and said, "Thanks for the drinks and conversation, but I must be going." Alecto paid and left. But not before she looked around the place momentarily.

Aggie smiled and nodded politely. She wondered if the woman was leaving purely because she wasn't able to give more specific details about her customers? She might have said she wasn't looking for anyone in particular, but Aggie wasn't sure if she believed her. It was certainly a bit... odd.

"You're welcome, and see you again soon," she told the woman cheerfully as she left. Aside from the wanting to know about other people thing, she seemed nice enough. Perhaps she might come back again one day soon.
