Oh lord, what was Parker going to do now. He was dragging his feet climbing the stairs all the way up to the Astronomy tower. With each step the stairwell seemed to echo things like creep...er... and old...man.., of course there was always the fact that all this stress was actually driving him insane. Yeah, that was probably it. He stopped for a moment to take a breath, making 50000000 notes to work out more often. Though he had come all the way from the first floor, and there were many flights of stairs involved. That was the one bad thing about his good friend Toby, it took so much effort to go visit him! Maybe he should have just gone for an owl instead, though Finnegan would've probably went to Tethys or something instead. Oh man, would she have some interesting things to say. Parker wasn't sure if he was ready for it just yet. With a sigh, he supposed he should be continuing on. He continued climbing the stairs, really hoping he didn't see Avys in the hallway. She totally ran away from him yesterday, literally ran. Parker could not be more mortified, especially since he hadn't done anything like this in his life, let alone with a student. It was strange though, he swore he got some sort of a vibe from her. Either way he was going to try to keep his feeling completely 100% bottled up until the end of the school year, then he'd be free to act as crazy and schoolboy-esque as he pleased! The thought of which turned his stomach completely over, he would definitely need Toby's help these next few months or so. He reached the Astronomy professor's office and poked his head in through the open doorway, spotting Toby at his desk. He stepped in, giving a couple fake huffs and puffs. "Toby, my dear friend. I'm in some total shit." Flopping down on a chair, he pinched the bridge of his nose for a moment. "If I tell you something, do you promise you'll keep it an absolute secret and won't judge me?" It was a stretch, he knew. Parker almost didn't even want to talk about it, but if he didn't get it out soon it was going to drive him crazy. Considering he was already feeling pretty crazy as it were, that prospect wasn't very appealing.

Toby had come to his office to attempt to grade some of the written test he’d given the fifth years that past week. The ones he promised he’d get back to his students by tomorrow morning. He generally wasn’t one to give these- mainly because it was he who was ultimately stuck grading each and every one, trying to decipher each student’s spiny quilled-answers. If only muggle computers worked at Hogwarts, then he might actually be done already.

Without realizing it, Professor Grabe had completely lost his motivation and currently sat with his lanky legs on his desk, leaning so far back in his chair it was a miracle he hadn’t just fallen the remaining few inches to the floor. In one hand he held his wand- flicking it back and forth. On the other side of the room, a cat toy was dangling in front of Bean in the same flicking fashion. Bean had swatted at it once or twice some 5 minutes ago, but he now lay there- big eyes focused on Toby’s face as if to say ”Really?”

In his other hand, Toby held a half-eaten muffin that he’d grabbed from the Great Hall early that morning. He was chewing on it contentedly- watching his cat as if expecting him to finally try and attack the toy- when his buddy, Parker, stuck his head in. He didn’t have time to swallow what was in his mouth before Parker had let himself in and flopped down on the chair in a huff. Toby’s eyebrows raised and he finished what was in his mouth before chuckling, and turning his body a little so he could better face the other man.

His raised eyebrows and cheeky smile faltered a little as he watched Parker sitting there- looking more distressed than he’d ever really seen him. His wand had stopped bouncing around and the cat toy hung in mid-air.

Ronan had, wandered off in his mind. As a given, he happened to randomly end up places without even realizing he'd gotten there, normally because he just walked and thought at the same time. He was prone to doing that. He just, couldn't focus on one thing for too long before he blocked out the rest of the world.

Today, when he finally came back down to earth, Ronan found himself high up in the castle, thinking about cat claws. They were so, different really. They didn't actually retract in like one would think. They just kind of, slipped up between the toes. And they had this little skin that was at the base of them that kind of covered them when pulled back. It was super soft and incredibly alluring.

Now that he was aware of where he was, he heard voices coming from a few doors down. Sounded like his new mates, Parker and Toby. Having a little get together without him? Ronan did not like the sound of that. Casually, he walked towards the room, before popping his head in too. The last words he caught of Parker's were "Absolute secret and won't judge me?" then Toby replied.

"Gentlemen? Meeting without me?" he noticed Bean and immediately made his way to the cat, snatching the toy from the air and dangling it in front of the cat. Who blatantly ignored him as well. "What's this about secrets and such?" he asked the men behind him, glancing over his shoulder. Woah. He hadn't noticed Parker's apparent distress when he'd first entered. What was going on?

Parker shook his head. He really didn't want to say it, knowing as soon as the words left his lips there was no going back. I have feelings for my seventeen year old student.. Man it didn't even sound good in his head! He took in a breath, about to speak, then closed his mouth again. Ah shit.. He stood up and paced to the other side of the room, obviously completely in conflict. "Well, it's just.." Parker could feel himself starting to chicken out again. Maybe I could just change the subject.. Nah it was too late for that, he'd probably already have sparked Toby's interest. "Well, the thing is, I was in the storag-" Parker heard the man before he saw him, turning on his heel to say hello to Ronan. "Ronan, buddy! Hey there!" Maybe the creature loving professor hadn't heard anything, maybe this was exactly the distraction he needed to change the subject! "We wouldn't dream about meeting without you, we were just having a little chat." Oh lord he had heard about a secret. Now Parker not only had to tell one person but two, that was already more people than he had planed on including in on this little secret. He was just going to have to man up and do it. Parker did a mental check to see if he still indeed had a spinal cord and some balls. Yup, should still be there. "Alright, but this is in absolute secrecy! I'm not kidding, no one can know about it!" He took a breath and put his hands on his hips. "Well, so I was in the storage room taking inventory like I always do, and then Avys came in looking for something to write her paper on. You know, Avys Winchester? Well anyway she ended up sitting in my Mustang with me and we well..." Oh lord this was coming of way more dirty than it actually was, but he was also dangerously close to sounding like a woman. "Well I think I sort of...fell for her? A little bit?" Even trying to put it delicately, Parker visibly cringed at his own words. He wanted to crawl in a corner and hide, or at least fly down the many flights of stairs and lock himself in his office until the end of the school year. Either would work, really.

Toby’s eyes flickered once again to the door of his office as Ronan entered, nodding his head in greeting. Parker had been just about to tell him what was wrong, and he could tell he was going to try and get out of it now that there was someone else there- not that Toby or Ronan would let him at this point. He smirked a little bit before hiding it behind the muffin as he took another bite. “Gotcha…” he said, mouth still mostly full, trying to get Parker to get on with the story- the suspense was killing him.

And it was not what he expected. Toby’s eyebrows raised once again- higher and higher as he kept talking. He knew Avys, of course and was afraid this story was heading in the wrong direction really fast. Toby swallowed what he had in his mouth. Fell for her? was that some misinterpreted way to say they’d slept together? Oh god, it better not have been. Despite the fact Avys was in her final year here…student/teacher relationships were rightfully forbidden.

Parker was cringing. Toby looked up at Ronan for his reaction before turning back to Parker, “What the Hell do you mean, you fell for her?” he snapped, his normally happy-go-lucky demeanor was a bit more reserved than normal. “Buddy…” he laughed a little, sure that this was some badly conceived joke. He looked up at Ronan too, ready to see him laughing it off.

Ronan rose from his crouch to move to the other chair positioned near Parker's chair, though he watched the man pace about. He dangled a hand over the edge, waggling his fingers to try and entice Bean to come and play with him. Mostly, his focus was on Parker though. If it was so big that he was like, swearing them to secrecy, it had to be important. Maybe he'd reveal he was actually a woman? God, Ronan hoped not. He'd have to kick his ass.

He nodded his consent to keeping it a secret, then listened with half an ear while staring out the window at pair of birds. At least, until he heard Avys Winchesters name. He put a face to the name quickly, a young short blonde who had a lot to say about horses. And when Ronan said a lot, he meant A SHIT TON. That girl could go on and on and on about horses.

Wait. Back the fuck up. Did he just say, fell for her? What the actual fuck did that mean? Ronan appeared taken aback, staring at Parker with the biggest expression of confusion ever on his face. Had he gone mental? Ronan glanced at Toby, sure the two of them were playing a trick on him. But Toby had the same look of astonishment on his face.

Ronan looked back over at Parker. "Tell us straight Park. Did you bang her?" Ronan could be a little blunt sometimes. But honestly, Ronan felt that this situation called for a little bluntness. He'd even forgotten about Bean. That was how important this conversation was.

Shit, he knew he should have worded it better. There didn't really seem to be a way for it to not come across as dirty though. Sighing, Parker absorbed their initial shock, knowing there were many objections to follow once he got his story straight. Alright, no big deal, he could totally get through this. Walking over to his chair he flopped down next to Ronan, a bit taken aback by his question. He really shouldn't have been that surprised though, it was exactly like him to lay everything out on the table. He laughed, putting his face in his hands for a second before straightening back up. "Oh lord no, god that would be so much worse." That was definitely a situation he would rather not think about, well, not until the end of the school year least. "Jeez, and you call yourselves my mates? Though I suppose.." It was exactly what he had made it seem like, so he really couldn't blame them. "I just..held her hand. Twice. Even that seems like too far now, I've gotten myself into a major fucking pickle." He shook his head and crossed his arms. The six months or so until she graduated seemed like an eternity at this point, but maybe in that time he would get over her. Or, even better, maybe he'd feel the same and could finally tell her. Still, it's going to be a pretty awkward time indeed. "I mean, I think she might even feel the same way. It was all so sudden." He rubbed his temple, the whole deal still being fresh in his mind. He crossed his legs. Then uncrossed them. Feeling pretty fucking uncomfortable, Parker debated whether to get up and start pacing again. No go, they'd probably think he was being too antsy. With the way they were looking at him already he definitely didn't want to push the subject any further. There were probably going to be more questions. He didn't really want more questions. "Look chaps, I wouldn't have brought it up but..I mean. It just happened yesterday and it was...haunting. It felt so right..." He could almost literally feel his balls being sucked up into his body with each word, so he decided to leave it at that.

Toby snorted at Ronan’s lack of tact, but it really was the best way to shed light on this possibly shattering secret. He didn’t take Parker for the type of man who would ever do anything of this sort, so all of this was very foreign to him. Parker was a good man- polite, smart, but the look on his face made Toby’s stomach drop a little. He and Ronan would be forced to tell the Headmistress of course, and he would be chucked out of the school. He would be lucky not to face charges since Avys was, even if by only a few measly months, a girl.

Parker laughed and Toby cocked a head to the side as he denied having slept with her. The fear and doubt that lay uncomfortably in his gut vanished in an instant. He knew Parker would lie to them about it, and Toby knew he should have trusted his friend more than he had for those few seconds. Letting his face slip once again into a smile- trying not to burst out laughing once he continued that all they had done was hold hands. Seriously, Toby had at least thought he’d kissed her (of course….he still didn’t condone it, but the cause for concern would have been more founded).

Finally letting his legs fall from their resting spot on his desk, Toby straightened up in his chair. It was obvious he was trying his damnedest to hold in his laughter. He looked mirthfully at Ronan to see if he was having the right reaction to this before continuing. “Listen, Parker….You only held her hand. Sure, a bit unorthodox, but nothing to be too worried about.” He paused for a moment, still trying to hold back his laughter, “Just don’t dip your wick till she’s out of school,” he snorted. "No matter how right it felt!"

Anxiously, Ronan awaited Parker's reply to his question. Crude yes. To the point? Yes. Necessary? Hell yes. It may have been phrased poorly but it got the point across that this was serious business.

Of course, as soon as Parker denied having slept with her, the gravity of the situation decreased intensely. Still paying attention to both Toby and Parker, though the attention was drastically lowered, he glanced around the room. Looking for Bean or something to keep his mind also preoccupied.

Held hands with her? His eyes roved over to Parker again. Though they had only been friends for a short amount of time, Ronan had come to be able to count on Parker for only one thing, blabbing on and on about muggle items. However, it appeared he could also be counted for being a big puss too. "What the hell were you holding her hand for anyways?" he asked, though chuckling to himself at Toby's creative way of putting the deed into action. "What, did that ickle thunder and lightning scare you?" he put on a fake baby voice, one similar to the one he used with most small animals.

Parker felt the tension of the room drop about 30 degrees as soon as the words 'held her hand' left his mouth. Maybe it wasn't really that big of a deal, but his feelings for her alone seemed like something to be stressed about. This was going to be a long semester, especially if Parker has to keep his hands to himself the whole time. He sighed, absorbing their comments and questions. It was relieving to hear them not be freaked out at all, making him realize that he was probably blowing this whole thing way more out of proportion than it needed to be. He finally let out a laugh, feeling every muscle in his body relax. "Ah shit guys..I mean, I knew it wasn't anything but you know how my mind can make mountains out of molehills." Oh Ronan, Parker would've found his natural way of wording things abrasive or offensive if he didn't know him better. Laughing at his question, he tried to get Bean's attention but to no avail. "I'm sure it did, once this whole thing started me balls detached themselves and ran away. I haven't seen them since, it's starting to worry me" Ahh, it felt good to start to have a sense of humor about the whole thing. "Class is going to be the worst you guys, maybe I'll just have a show and tell thing so I don't have to talk the whole time." Yeah, that sounded good. He knew if he got up there he wasn't going to be able to do anything but stare at Avys. This way, if other students were talking it might be enough to distract him.

Toby was already taking another bite of his muffin, moving around the parchment rolls that littered his desk and still chuckling as Parker informed them that his balls had detached and made a run for it. Bean was slinking around the small office, rubbing momentarily against Ronan’s leg before walking toward the door and plopping down with an almost audible thump, stretching his paws out like he owned the damn place.

Unable to fidget with the items on his desk for much longer, Toby set the small remaining part of his muffin down and scratched absent mindedly at his jaw, once again leaning back in his chair and pointing at Parker, “What you need to do is go release some steam in Hogsmeade or something,” he said nonchalantly. He knew Parker wasn’t really the type- neither was he, really, but having a one night stand with a consenting adult was a lot better than slipping up and…in to one of his students. He looked at Ronan for some support in the matter.

Ronan bounced a foot, grinning at Parker. Yeup, this was his friend. The man who got all flustered because he held a girls hand. Albeit a young girl's hand. But holding her hand none the less. He froze when Bean swept past him, then continued his movements when the cat wandered away as well.

"Good idea, but what are you going to do if she brings something to talk about?" Ronan asked. Now that they had confirmed that Parker hadn't ravaged the lady and was in fact a big puss about it all, it was really amusing to Ronan.

He nodded at Toby's words. Yes, a female would probably distract Parker enough that he would look at Ms. Winchester and decide she was too young and unsophisticated for him. "Definitely. Let me talk to a friend in the Ministry. I can get you a girl." he lightly punched Parker in the arm. "I'll make sure she's a beauty and simulating to talk to as well. Everything you want in a woman. Right?" he offered, though he wouldn't take no for an answer.

Sort of staring at Ronan, Parker hadn't realized that Avys would bring something to class as well. It wouldn't matter that much, since it would be his job to listen to her presentation at that point. It would actually be a good excuse to get to stare at her for a couple of minutes. He liked that idea quite a bit. Hogsmeade eh? Parker hadn't thought about it, but it would be nice to go get his mind off of things while the students had the day off. He nodded at Toby. "Yeah, maybe we could all grab a drink at the Three Broomsticks or something. The trip is scheduled for next week right?" Not that he had anything better to do, though someone had just owled him about a unique 1980's ceiling fan in the house they just bought. That could always wait, it wasn't like the fan could just get up and walk away or anything. Was Ronan talking about setting him up with some girl? Oooh, he hadn't realized that 'blowing off steam' meant well..what was implied. Parker wasn't sure about the idea of hooking up with some girl, but it would definitely help with getting his mind off of Avys. Well, hopefully. "A ministry girl? Sounds interesting..if you really wanted to set it up I certainly would've object."

Toby looked bemusedly at Ronan who mentioned a lady friend who worked for the ministry and nodded as if this would of course cure all over Parker’s current problems- except he’d still have to face the girl during his class tomorrow. He found himself wondering just what Avys was thinking about all this. Merlin forbid she was sitting in her common room giggling away with her friends about Parker’s hand holding. He didn’t know the girl too well, and only hoped that she was more discreet about it all- perhaps as long as she felt the same way about him, her bashfulness would keep him out of her conversations.

“That’s a good idea,” Toby added.

Ronan grinned, glad to have come up with a good idea. He'd write up a letter for Henry as soon as he was done here with the guys and send it off straight away. He hoped Henry had some hotty he could send out there. But was miffed by the fact if Henry did this for him, he'd then be stuck owing Henry some favor too. No doubt sending him on a date with some poor soul as well, just to get even.

Clapping his hands together, he gave Bean an apologetic look when the cat jumped. "Okay. Enough of this sad nonsense. We know poor Park here is gonna get over this once he sees her in the light of day. Plus a little fooling around will be a great help. Now, lets have some fun!" he pulled out his wand and pointed at the desk.

Popping into existence were three mugs and a large pitcher of butterbeer. Ronan leaned forward and poured some of the butterbeer into each mug before taking one for himself. Taking a long pull, he very much enjoyed the fizzy drink. Exhaling, he leaned back in his chair, resting the mug on his knee. "Thats the good stuff!" he announced to himself, really.
