Aries was starving this Friday evening. She had a long day, and had to deal with annoying little first years. Of course she had nothing against them, but since they had not matured yet the kids could be rather annoying. She huffed, as she walked along the corridors on her destination to the Great Hall, where she could sit down, open her book and learn that complex charm's spell that she so desired to master.
She ran her fingers through her long wavy hair, and a small smile slipped on her lips as she contemplated her future, while fixing her outfit absentmindedly. A third year moved out of her way, as her eyes glanced at the different paintings around her and nodded her head to them in acknowledgment.
Her bag felt lighter than usual, since Ari did have a free period earlier, so she took the book that was in her right hand, and slipped it into her black bag not really paying attention to where she was headed. Next thing she knew , Aries stumbled back and did not really get her footing since she decided to wear her black pumps today. Her but hit the floor with a thud, and she muttered "oompf"
"Ow, that hurt. " Her hair had fallen in her face and she frowned at her predicament. Of course Aries would be the girl, to land in a pile on the floor in the middle of the hallway, so close to where she needed to go. Her head lifted up, her bangs covering her eyes, and she noticed a tall boy there, and blushed slightly at having been so careless. "Oh.. Uh, Hi there."

Tyler had been on his way to the Great Hall for a quick meal. One of his classes had just finished and that meant it was time to get some grub. Although, he did need to get back to the Gryffindor common room first. Instead of going straight to the Great Hall like he planned, he made a bee line for the stairs. With his hunger, it made him in a little bit of a hurry, which meant he wasn't walking, he was jogging. If only he had decided to carry all of his books with him, he wouldn't have to worry about skipping out on a meal, which he definitely wouldn't do.
Instead of making it all the way to the common room, he had bumped into someone. "Watch.." he began to say, but he stopped himself from saying the rest. In a way, it was his fault for jogging instead of walking. He looked down at who he had bumped into and it was some Hufflepuff girl. Tyler reached out his hand to help her up. "I'm.. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to run into you." he said.
Tyler smiled at the girl. He didn't know why, but it came out of nowhere. Hopefully the smile would make her forgive him. Even though, he wouldn't really mind if she didn't forgive him. It never made a difference to him. The less people who liked him, the better his life was. Or at least, that's the mindset he had. To him, people got him into trouble, though he had plenty of fun doing that on his own.

Aries laughs softly, and takes his hand pulling herself up and smiling at the gryffindor boy. "Well I figured you wouldn't try to run into a harmless girl, who you don't even know, but you never know these days so the reassurance is nice." She shook his hand before letting go and stepping back to look at him fully, and cocking her head to the side like she was contemplating something, though in all reality it was just a habit for her.
When Aries noticed that she rambled, and this time about something stupid she blushed out of embarrassment and bit her lip before speaking slowly, and loudly to try and regain the confidence she lost when she fell. "Er, I am sorry, it was really my fault. And for the rambling thing I just did there." To make up for the situation Aries smiled brightly at him, and ran a hand through her hair, like she always did when she was nervous, or thinking. "I am not hurt so really all is good just next time walk through the halls, or at least just walk quickly?"
As soon as she spoke those words Aries regretted them, they must have sounded rude and impolite. She picked up her bag, and shot him a hopeful smile, wishing he would just speak and make it so she could not speak. Ari stopped talking, and lowered her eyes , playing with the fringe of her bag and her face beat red, not noticing the bruise that was forming on her arm from the fall.

He was about to say something that would probably make this girl hate him, but for some reason, he had stopped himself before he even opened his mouth. She obviously was harmless, after all, she did say it was her fault. Truly, it was his fault for running. "Do you have to be so nice? You were walking, no way it was your fault. I'm the blame for going so fast. I will most likely walk from now on." he said.
Geez, what the heck was going on with Ty today? Deep down, he was making himself gag to almost puking mode. "Why would you apologize for rambling when you weren't even rambling?" he asked, curiously. Honestly, he didn't think she rambled. It was a short speech that didn't annoy him. That was definitely different. Normally, everyone annoyed him. "Um.. I'm Tyler, by the way."
He was really feeling out of his element right now, but shouldn't that be a good thing? He was reaching beyond his comfort zone for once and would probably learn something new or something. You never know what could happen when you go out of your comfort zone. But, why was he so willing? Could it be because he actually felt guilty for once? He actually hurt someone without meaning to and it just didn't feel right?
There was no way that was it. Or was it? Tyler didn't know, so he kept the thought out of his mind. "I'm honestly sorry. I truly should have been looking where I was going." OK, enough with the apologizing. It was all done already, no need to revisit it all.

Oh. That was the the only thought that could enter her mind. She laughed softly, and smiled at him. She really was nervous, after all to be acting so silly. "I dunno, I am clumsy so I figured that it was my fault. I put a book away and forgot to step out of the way to do so." She shrugged before, moving over a foot to the wall, to lean against it and looked at him.
Normally she would have left a while back, after just saying sorry and thank you, but she actually wanted to explain herself to this boy. She had seen him around, because well you always see people even just once at this school it was that small. " I thought I was rambling, I tend to talk a lot, and get off topic or say random odd things." the smile on her face widened into a grin, and she spoke his name a loud once. "Cool name, it's classic. plus it is is fun to say." Another little laughter occurs before she speaks once more.
"My name is Aries, like the muggle horoscope and greek god. I know it's kinda silly." She shrugged and bit her lip wondering why she just told him that, for she never would mention anything about this. Okay something was going on. "It's nice to meet you, even if it was rather unconventional."

He watched as she moved to lean against the wall. "Oh, I guess that would make sense. A clumsy person always tries to take the blame. You know, there are people who would be at fault and would let you take the blame, right? Try to get all the facts before blaming yourself. I don't know why, but I passed up the chance to not be the blame." he said.
"You're odd." he said in a playful voice. Tyler actually didn't mean it as an insult and was surprised at this. "Rambling can be a good thing at times. Especially, if the person you're talking to barely ever talks. Meaning, I'm one of those people. I think this is one of the rare times I've talked to someone for so long." he explained. Did she really say he had a cool name? He didn't think so. Oh, well. Was she laughing? Tyler smiled at her. "Thanks, I think." he said. Laughing barely came easy to him, it was something he only did at home. He did, after all, have a reputation to keep up at Hogwarts.
"Now that's a cool name. Aries, God of War, only, you're a female. Aries is actually one of my many favorite Gods from the Greek Gods and Goddesses. My top favorite, though, has got to Hera. I don't know why, but there's something about a jealous woman that fascinates me." he smiled again. "It's nice to meet you, too, Aries. Maybe we can talk on better terms next time."

"You are welcome Tyler." . She giggled a bit and smiled at him, forgetting for a moment that she mentioned her name was of a god, not a goddess and how embarrassing that always was for her.
She rolled her eyes yet smiled none the less when he made the comment of Hera, of course he as a guy would say that . Though for some reason she had a gut feeling not to judge this guy right away. He liked her name, when not many others did, he couldn't be too bad. "Thank you, and yes it is a male's name but hey it makes me different then all the other normal boring people." She shrugged before continuing " And really, jealous girls fascinates you? I assume that you might change your mind if someone acted that way -about- you." A smirk played on her lips as she rose a brow and looked at him.
Aries, loved getting to know new people, and for some reason she had no idea who he was. Ari had seen someone who looked very similar, but very different indeed. Aries decided to go out on a limb and ask him to continue speaking or at least meet somewhere. He was too interesting to just let him go.
Her arms folded over each other over her chest and she kicked her pump off the wall and walked over to where he was until she was right in front of him, with a bright hopeful smile on her lips. "Hopefully there is a next time. You should eat with me sometime, I would love to hear about how you don't actually talk a lot, and you would get the chance to be around a rambler. Unless of course you really don't want to be around me, then I should be off. But if you do, then please grant me the pleasure of continuing this conversation."
Her face was bright red, but she decided not to act all shy even though her heart was thumping afraid he would walk away. Gryffindors were nice enough to the Puffs, but never really chose to be near them. Aries really wanted a new friend, and Tyler was unique. "Look if you decide to actually talk to me, I am headed to dinner. I was planning on studying but if you prefer not to be quiet then please come and sit with me." Aries nodded , smiled briefly at him, before swinging her bag on her shoulder and walking away twirling on her way to the Great Hall and laughing at her own amusement.

"Most definitely wouldn't change my mind if someone acted jealous about me. It's nice to see a little cat fight here and there. Keeps life interesting and worth living if there are new obstacles in the way, even if they are as small as a little jealousy." he said. Tyler didn't know where that came from, but it actually did make sense to him. "I don't think I have to worry about it though. With me being the way that I am, no one will come near me. Besides, anything that deals with a girl being jealous about me or whatever can wait until after graduation. No need to settle down just yet, I've got my whole life ahead of me."
"I'd like that." Ty smiled. It did sound a little nice to actually have someone to talk to during a meal. He had to admit, it was getting pretty boring surviving Hogwarts the past six years alone with nothing to do. It's not like he was going to start going around making tons of friends or anything, but Aries could be a start to a different routine. You never know what might happen, and Tyler was willing to take a chance.
He listened as she spoke and opened his mouth to speak. "I was actually heading to the Gryffindor Tower to grab a book I forgot. I'll be heading to the Great Hall after... I'll meet up with you." he told her and watched as she walked away. Tyler ran back to the Gryffindor tower and went straight to his dorm to retrieve the book he needed.
Once that was all said and done, he went back to the Great Hall.

Aries nodded as he spoke, hearing his own footsteps leaving the empty corridor. She was late, and he would be late also but that was the great thing about the food it was always there thanks to the Elves. The only bad thing, is she would be stepping in alone after everyone already was in the Hall, so she might be noticed.
A smile played on her lips as she walked in, her back straight, and her head held high. Even if the Ari was not super confident she portrayed confidence. Fake it till you make it her mum had said. Aries slid into a seat at the end of the Hufflepuff table making sure to set her bag down to save a seat for him. It wasn't that hard because the Puffs liked to talk in groups and always sat in the middle , some her friends looked at her and smiled, and Aries could tell they were confused by the obvious questions written on their face. She shrugged and took a sip of some warm tea.
The young witch was happy he had accepted her offer to eat with her, and a bright smile would not leave her lips. For a boy who talked like he was a loner, he did seem to enjoy talking to her. She filled her plate with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a little bit of steak. Aries was confused by the young man and hoped to figure him out. Aries pulled her hair back into a messy bun, and slipped off her sweater, it was quite warm in the Great Hall. Finally she started eating, while waiting for him. She saw him walk in and waved him over smiling.

Tyler looked around the Great Hall for Aries and finally spotted her waving him over. He walked over to her, sat his book down beside him and then sat down himself. Tyler grabbed a plate and began loading it down with food before speaking.
"Well, I'm here, now what shall we talk about?" he asked curiously. He honestly didn't know why he was there offering to talk to someone that he had just met. Tyler wasn't that type of person. He wasn't the type of person who socialized at all, anyway. So this was all new territory for him. Territory that he might find a way to get use to.
"Sorry it took me so long. Had trouble finding my book. But at least I'm here now." he smiled at her. Tyler soon took a bite of steak and waited for her to say something.

She was late, and he would be late also but that was the great thing about the food it was always there thanks to the Elves. The only bad thing is she would be stepping in alone after everyone already was in the Hall, so she might be noticed. Aries smiled at him, taking smaller bites now that he was present. She was a lady after all, even if she was a spazzy lady. She laughed softly when he asked what to talk about. Of course he did say he was a loner type. Her smile widened into a big grin as she imagined what it would be like to make him open up. Not for her personal gain, but she knew it was nice to at least have one really good friend you can talk to and be open with. Normally Ari was just nice enough to everyone but rarely trusted in other people.
Ari nodded when he said something about a book, and she figured that was any good conversation starter if she knew one, and since her parents always hosted parties she knew the best conversation starters. Maybe he isn't so bad at this communication thing. She smirked at the thought. "What book did you have to get? Was it for school or pleasure? Are you the type to read for pleasure. I am, though not too terribly much, I am intelligent but not like a stuffy Ravenclaw, though the Ravies are nice enough. So are the Gryffies like you. Are you interested in books? What kind? Ohhh what's your favorite course? Charms, potions, what? Mine is Charm. I love it. So anyway books! What is the one you had to get? " Her food forgotten for a moment, she let out all of her spazzyness, wondering if that would work. Sometimes asking a lot of questions help, that way quiet people can choose all of the questions to answer or just one or two. Plus she liked being her joyful, self. Her face was set in a grin, her eyes were a light with joy, and she was looking at him, giving him his full attention.
The hall, was noisy of course because it was dinner time, and lots of people chose to eat. Well who wouldn't want to eat? She had no idea. The night sky of the ceiling was beyond beautiful, with a few dark clouds in the sky. She liked to think of it as a beautiful nightmare. You know like thunderstorms? Oh bugger, her mind was wandering again; she must bring in her thoughts back to the Gryffindor boy in front of her. Her grin turned into a small smile, and she noticed how attractive he was. Not really her type, she guessed so far but it must bother the other females of the castle that he was less than sociable. She really must wok on that.
