Alcoholic? Amelia stared down at the punch cup in her hand. Well, that obviously explained the acidic taste to it. Amelia had never drank before. This was, unexpected. She didn't know what to think. At least he had been nice enough to get her a drink that wasn't spiked.

Amelia placed the glass back down on the table, then took a look around the room. Lukas was right, it seemed while they had been dancing, many of the other students had dispersed. No doubt all off finding a place to make out and do other dirty things with each other.

"Yes, it does appear that many of the students and even staff have left for the evening," she replied. As Lukas removed his tie from his being, Amelia eyed him out of the corner of her eye. She especially enjoyed the play of his muscles as his shirt stretched over his arms and chest. Amelia bit her lip, tilting her head a little to get a better view.

Suddenly, she snapped back into sitting upright. What was she doing, checking him out like some high strung hormonal teenager!? Lukas was her friend! He deserved better than that! And now her head was starting to buzz. Brilliant. "Maybe we too should start thinking about heading up. It is getting late, if judging the number of people still in here is any factor..." Amelia glanced around before standing up. She placed a hand on the back of the chair when she felt a head rush hit her. Ooh. She had overdone herself too much while dancing.

Lukas watched as her head tilted to the side. "Uh.. Are you alright?" he asked, a little worried now since she had alcohol in her system. He wasn't sure how it would affect her or if she had ever drank before. In a way, he kind of doubted she ever drank before. She was too... Good. So to say. He couldn't really judge that completely because...What was he thinking? Of course he could judge that completely! She was a bookworm, a Ravenclaw nerd. Not that that was a bad thing, of course. It's just what others would label her as. Though, he doesn't mind her being a nerd, he wouldn't call her that. She's more like... Ok, so he had no other way to describe her.

"Yeah, I think we should head back to the common room. I need to get up early tomorrow to... eat." he told her. Lukas grabbed his tie and shoved it through his belt loop and then stood up. He stood next to her, hand on her back to make sure she wouldn't fall over. To him, it seemed like she wasn't doing so well. "You going to be OK?" he asked. Again, he was still worried because of the alcohol she consumed. He looked at the cup and sighed. She nearly drank the rest of it. Poor thing.

He asked if she was okay. Was she okay? Now that she was standing, the head rush was leaving and Amelia was feeling better now. She smiled at him when he stood and put a hand on her back. Oh, he was so sweet. Amelia didn't know what she had done to gain his friendship, but she was so glad to have it. "OH! The shoes!" Amelia crouched down and grabbed them off the floor. Rising, she giggled as another head rush hit her. Alcohol seemed to be a lot of fun. She wondered why she hadn't done it more? Oh, because she was a loser loner, that was why.

She nodded when he said he had to get up early to eat. "Exactly. We don't want you going hungry." she smiled at him. He asked her again if she was going to be okay. He was so worried about her. How cute. She patted his chest, trying to to think about how muscular and strong it was. "I'll be fine. Lets just go get in bed," Amelia smiled at how that sounded. She didn't mean together. He wouldn't take it that way though, so it was okay. Lukas was a good guy. He'd get her upstairs and see that she came to no harm.

He didn't say anything when she said to go get in bed. He knew that she didn't mean together, but the thought crossed his mind anyway. Luke knew it wouldn't happen, but he couldn't help but think how nice it would be. Though, he wouldn't be able to go to her dorm, after all, the girl's stairs were charmed to make sure no guy could sneak up there, but the girls could go to the guys dorm. Maybe one day, but tonight is not the time for it to happen.

Lukas guided her through the Great Hall and through the doors. It was a good thing they were in the same house, because if they weren't he'd hate to go to one house and then to another. Honestly, he was too tired for that. He wrapped his arm around her to keep her steady, not knowing how effective the alcohol is on her at that moment. She didn't seem like it was overpowering her ability to think and walk completely, so she might be fine, but he didn't want to take any chances.

"Did you have fun?" he asked, curiously.

Amelia followed close beside Lukas, glad that he was walking her back up to their house. Amelia was unsure if she would have made it back on her own. She definitely knew she wouldn't be drinking any more alcohol any time soon. Obviously if that little cup of spiked punch had giver her enough alcohol to make her head go loopy, she didn't even want to know what would happen if she ever drank for real.

His arm wrapped around her and Amelia felt her cheeks warm with happiness. She leaned into his side as she walked with him, smiling like a git to herself. She was just so happy to be with him at the moment. She didn't care about anything else in the world.

Did she have fun? Well, aside from crying and running away from him, yes, she had definitely had a lovely time. Amelia glanced up at him, a smile gracing her lips. "I had an amazing time tonight. How about you? Did you have fun?" she poked him in the chest lightly, grinning like a bobcat.

"I had a wonderful time." he told her. Luke escorted her up the stairs and was surprised at how true those words were. He never thought he'd have a great time at a ball. It was never his style to show up to one of those things, he never did in the past. Well, he has, but he normally found a way to make it more interesting by getting into trouble. "I honestly can't believe how much I danced. I haven't done that in ages."

The last time Lukas danced was before he even attended Hogwarts. It was at a family gathering and they had music and food and everything. He just so happened to love his mother enough to do the mother and son dance near the end. Of course, the dancing was different than what he had done with Amelia, but it was still dancing all the same.

"I do believe we're almost to the stairs for the tower." he said. Lukas looked around and sighed. They weren't even half-way there. Not that he wanted to get rid of Amelia, he was just tired. He needed to rest, get up early, and go hunting. Tomorrow morning called for animals instead of humans. He didn't want to keep up with taking from the girls.

Amelia was glad he had had some fun. She too, had been surprised with the amount of dancing they had done. She never danced, unless you counted dancing with her father when she had been very, very little. But Amelia hadn't danced with anyone in a very long time. "I too was very surprised. I'm not much of a dancer," she added with a laugh.

She frowned when he mentioned they were almost to the stairs to their tower. Stairs? Amelia had forgotten about stairs. Was she going to make it all the way up? Her bare feet were starting to ache, tired from all the exercise they had endured this evening. Maybe she could just crawl in a hole and sleep in that for a while.

Preposterous, Amelia would make it back to her room. And she would then crash on her bed and sleep like the dead. It was a good thing that there were no classes the next day. Amelia was sure almost all the students would miss it if there was. "We'll be there soon enough. Although, I'm most definitely not looking forward to climbing all these stairs. They should put elevators in this place" she added, jokingly. She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. "Oh, excuse me. I must be more tired than I thought..." she smiled at him, before focusing on her path.

Luke watched as she yawned. He couldn't help the feeling to yawn, too, but he held his back. There wasn't really any reason to let it out, but holding it back did make his eyes water a bit. So, he rubbed his eyes to wipe the yawning tears away. "Climbing stairs is never fun when you're tired... I could... Carry you if you'd like." he said. That was one of the perks of being a vampire, he was stronger than a normal witch, wizard or human. But, not nearly as strong as Jasper.

He watched the paintings as they walked past them, recognizing each and every one of them as being the same ones he sees every time he goes to the Ravenclaw tower. Just looking at the paintings made it possible for him to know exactly how long it'll take before reaching their destination. "We've got two more corridors to go and then we should be at the entrance." he told her. "And, it wouldn't be a bother to carry you that far." Lukas added.

Amelia blushed bright red when he offered to carry her the rest of the way. What a thought, to be in his arms and not have to worry about anything. Because Amelia knew he would take care of her. But that was just silly. She could very much get herself to their common room. And up to her bed. Oh goodness, that just continued to make her tired just thinking about it.

She yawned again, hiding it behind a hand. "No, no. I couldn't ask you to do that," she politely declined, although every muscle in her body ached for her to take up the offer. But Amelia was tough, she wouldn't allow him to carry her. She could carry herself.

She giggled slightly at the image that thought conjured. That would be, quite the sight to see. "Indeed, if we are almost there, I should be able to make it. Though if I fall over or pass out, then yes, I give you permission to carry me," she smiled at him. She was very glad that they were still holding hands. She liked being linked to him. It was, comforting.

Lukas looked at her and smiled. "No one said you would be asking me to do it. I was offering." he told her. Without thinking twice, he stuck his tongue out, putting him in teasing mode now. "So, if you fell over or asleep, it'd be ok to carry you? Hmm..." He acted as if he were thinking real hard on something mischievous. Knowing him, he probably truly was, but technically, right now he was only acting like it to make her think. To make her wonder. "Nah, I wouldn't do that. I'm too tired to use anymore energy." he smiled at her.

As he pulled off dismissing a thought that would probably have gotten him in trouble by him, he waited. Waited for her reaction. Things like this were usually priceless. Hopefully, she didn't get upset right off the bat, that would not be good.

He stopped just before they reached the common room door. Lukas didn't want the night to end just yet. To him, it seemed like there were still a million and one things they should do. It put a feeling of emptiness in him, a feeling he tried to hide as best as he could from her. Lukas had a feeling she'd be asking why he stopped, so to keep the feeling hidden, he concentrated on what to say.

Amelia was glad that he didn't press the issue of carrying her any more. Though that look on his face had her a little wary. He wasn't thinking about doing it anyways? She'd probably end up squealing. And squealing was definitely not something attractive for a female to do.

She put her two fingers to her eyes then pointed them at Lukas. "I'm watching you" she said it with a smile though.

When he stopped outside the common room, Amelia pulled up next to him. She wasn't ready to go inside yet. But it seemed neither was he. But as she stood there, her eyes started to droop slightly. She was exhausted. And needed sleep soon.

"What are we--- she yawned, "Stopping for?" she asked, struggling to keep her eyes open.

Lukas looked at her and smiled once more. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, hun." He watched her yawn and sighed when she asked why they stopped. How could he stall her without looking like an idiot? He thought about telling her he forgot the password, but she'd probably just say it and head right in. No. He couldn't have that just yet.

"I'm trying to remember if I left anything downstairs." - That's what he should have done. But, in reality, this is what happened: Lukas stepped closer to her, not giving her anytime to think or move. His arms wrapped around her and pulled her close to him. Without hesitation, he leaned in and kissed her. His mind blowing up with thoughts about how she's just going to push him away, or yell at him or something that deals with rejection. Other thoughts were of what he should have done or said. But no matter what, it all lead back to this kiss.

Amelia could feel the color creeping to her cheeks. He called her hun. She liked that. It was cute. "I sleep well enough at night thank you," she reassured him.

When he stated that he was trying to think if he'd left anything behind she herself did a mental check. She had her dress, yes. That would have been quite the scandalous item to have left behind. She had her shoes. She had her necklace. She couldn't think of anything.

"Did you remember any---" Amelia started speaking until he pulled her close and pressed his lips against hers again. Oh, she thought. She wasn't as shocked this time, though it was a weird sensation to be kissing him again. But it wasn't a bad weird. Just one of those weird moments that you weren't expecting.

After a moment she started to cautiously kiss him back. She didn't know what she was supposed to do but she hoped he wouldn't be disgusted and not want to kiss her again. That just wouldn't do.

Lukas couldn't believe she was actually kissing him back. Yeah, they've kissed once before, but this time was different. This kiss made tonight feel like... A date. Yet, it wasn't, at all. He didn't ask her to go nor did he make her. They met up at the party. Maybe he could secretly think it was a spontaneous date. No, that would make him seem insane. Even though no one else would know his thoughts.

He pulled away from her, ending the kiss and he looked at her. "Uh... goodnight Amelia." He half smiled at her. "Sleep well and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow. " Luke unwrapped his arms from her and stepped back a few steps. "I won't be going in right away. I have to go take care of my little problem. Don't want to try and eat anyone tomorrow. " Luke chuckled, slightly.

This was great Amelia wished she could have spent the entire night with him, instead of just the end of it. Though she wouldn't have traded this ending for all the galleons in the land, to be sure.

She restrained a whimper when he moved away from her, and her body suddenly felt both warmer and colder at the same time. Oh, right. He needed to go feed. She flushed at the thought that she had been keeping him from doing so, thus causing him any undo pain from the wait.

"Right, okay. Well, happy... hunting?" she chuckled nervously before whispering the password and slipping into the common room. She quickly ran up to her dorm room and began changing into her sleeping clothes, thinking about their last kiss.
