i've been away from the MP board for quite a while. haven't been a regular since the build-up to mp3(i went by the name Vinyl Junkies back then if any of you may recall), but have been anticipating the new album a great deal. i'm glad it's goin to be MP instead of woz solo. i've been a fan since 'saint joe on the schoolbus,' but have never had a chance to see them (they haven't been to michigan in years). i am seeing them tomorrow though!!!!
anywho, that's my story... due to my absence from the board, i wasn't even aware that all those mp3 era demos and alt. takes were available. if anyone would be willing to share that would be awesome. i have the mp3 demos (the one with mr fisher, arrow thru the sky, etc.) that leaked out a couple of years before mp3 and that's where my collection ends (as far as rarities are concerned.) thank you!!! How large is the collection?
I use box.net for files. You get 1GB free. Then you can link to files and have collaborators and viewers. Just a suggestion. This post has been edited by icerc on Jul 16 2009, 04:40 PM -------------------- "...are you in tune with the world around you..."

I will see you guys at Crossroads in Huntsville, AL. It has been a long time since 2000. i remeber following you guys around from 1997-2000 WOW that was good days. I remeber a lot of shows in Nashville, TN. and a special KDF studio show where me and my mom were asked back stage and helped with loading pizza in the van. I will be right in front WOZ watch out for a bald Army guy. This is going to be great like old times.

There's an awful lot of rare stuff out there, and I've been looking for it for a while. What do I have to do to get my hands on some of that stuff?
The b-sides, rarities, alternate takes, I want everything you got! Help me out! I don't have anything to swap except for Zog Bogbean and the Sex & Candy single. |

Hello, fellow MP fans. I have been posting on these boards under many names (headchange_bass, blasto2236, and boognish, probably) for many years.
I used to have every b-side and the MP3 demos right around the time period before MP3 was officially released. Unfortunately a hard drive crash caused me to lose all of this. I have nothing rare to trade, as I lost all of it, but if anyone would be willing to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Ryan |

Seems to be everyone's story "I've not been on in a while..." Ditto here.
Anyway. It's annoying me that I've only got a partial version of the song Bang Bang. It just kinda cuts off near the end while he's going Oh Oh, etc. Also, the quality is not superb Does anyone know whether a good quality and/or complete studio-esque version of this song is in existence? (I'm recalling when I thought I had a scratched up version of the Death of a Cheerleader demo, only to find out that apparently everyone's demo clicks). I wish MP would just go ahead and release that B-sides and rarities album one of these decades! Thanks! |

I am fairly new to this board and here is my MP story:
I was introduced to Marcy Playground by my older brother Erik and the first song I heard by them was A Cloak of Elvenkind which my brother was playing on guitar... I was only 11 years old.. I really liked the song so I listened to them sing it and the more I listened the more of their stuff and I fell in love! Opium and America and Deadly Handsome Man soon became favorites. I am now 18 and MP inspired me to learn guitar and John inspired me to write music.. I of course love all of their music now and can't wait for more. I unfortunately have never been to a live show and am hoping for at least 1 more tour so I can see them.. I would love some punch and pie. -------------------- A song I wrote as a tribute to John Wozniak and the Marcy Playground :

Hey all.
I've been kicking around this board for a while and haven't ever asked for the rare stuff. If someone could please help me out I'd really appreciate it! I've been a Marcy Playground fan since of course S&C and have purchased all the official releases and have some rare stuff here and there (UP & DOWN is my favorite tune); but need some more! Roger |

I have no idea what the etiquette is these days (last I heard there was a Gmail but then someone changed the password, and Up and Down was the lost piece of the MP3 demo), but if you don't have Zog Bogbean it's a wonderful record that everyone should listen to.

This is really dead but I'm posting anyway.
Marcy Playground is my alltimefavorite band EVER and I couldn't go to their gig at an SD bar last summer because I'm not 21. That was the dumbest thing that has ever happened to me and now I cry everyday because of it.... |
