I was told to make the site look more like the new homepage, and after a bunch of fiddling, I have done so!

I know some things are kinda funky, let me know if you notice anything messed up that I can fix.

We also need buttons. I'm going to work on that.

The backdrop and colors are great. Just need to get the post boxes to fit the screen. Right now they are so thin, I feel like I'm reading the newspaper. My screen is set for 1400 X 1050 resolution, if that helps you out some.

Oh! Yes! I am aware of that. I have to fiddle with that more, it bugs me too.

After clicking around, the only thing that is bugging me is the colors. It kinda overwhelming ... the background is so light, and the red here against the black is kinda harsh... Perhaps instead of the black there, maybe something softer....grey? Just a suggestion!

Looks awesome spleen but I tend to agree with SaraH on the colors
they are a tad harsh compared to the background
but yeah otherwise it looks marcylicious (it's a word!)

Dave K sounded really keen on getting board admin and doing all this himself when he e-mailed me after I finished working on it, so maybe he can crank out something nicer.

It's actually the opposite on my screen. The background is fine, but all the text boxes are in a column in the middle. To kind of describe it, look at the top of the screen where the MP logo is, now imagine that all the text and such only runs underneath Marcy Pla and then goes to the next line. The banner looks ok, but I just have a thin column of text. Very odd looking (at least on my screen). As I stated before, I am running on 1400 X 1050 res. The BB looked fine on my screen b4 the change, so something in the code doesn't like it....

It's not your web browser perhaps?
what are you using chrome, firefox , internet explorer ?

Joe, you can just host the screenshot at imageshack.us instead of e-mailing it.

If Dave K wants to have a hack at it, I say let him. He is really good at this stuff. Not that you aren't spleen, but if you don't have the time than I say just leave it as it is. It's not like so overwhelming that its given me a migraine or anything, LOL!

aaaaaah, I just realized if I shrink my screen the board resizes to less stretchy proportions... so I'm guessing it's set to resize based on percentage, rather than being a fixed size. Anyhow, now that I know I can just resize my window when I'm on the boards. Good job Spleen I'm diggin' the red and black.

microsoft IE isn't so nice to me. keeps the same proportions no matter what the screen size.

I'm still trying to get a screenshot that doesn't save itself as either a bitmap (HUGE file) or a Word .doc file... so image hosting doesn't exactly work for that... Soon as I actually have time away from posting between work, I'm sure I'll find a way...

Because I don't know CSS and with the weird roundabout way I managed to do the board colors/stuff, I'm not exactly sure how much I'll be able to do as far as easily shrinking it.

I'll take a look at it at some point when I'm not super busy.

ok, after a bit of playing, the board looks A-OK on firefox, but woe to the person using MS explorer. IE users get the tiny, thin strip in the middle I've been trying to describe.
